Well I have never used one in the video mode. I have used a 16 bit Hasselblad a couple of times Photo wise. But banding occurs in Photos just like video can. And Photos I have shot on one have been printed out, I am not sure how many bits are in a print, but yeah you have a valid point about seeing stuff Only using a 8 bit monitor, but if it looks like shit it will show up on Any monitor I would think. As to the Padding, well I know Phase One would be sued for claiming 16 bit if they really didn't have it. I mean the people that buy them have the money to sue LoL. All the MF makers all claim 16 bit files. Hmm I lied, the Fuji is only showing 14 bit.Interesting. I am not sure what sensor Fuji uses, maybe their own? I am pretty sure Hassy, Phase One use the Sony sensor for their 100mp backs. First time MF cameras have had a CMOS sensor instead of a CCD one I believe. Lot better low light ability. Yeah looks like Fuji is using their own sensor, and it is CMOS also. Pentax is 14 bit also. Hmm. https://captureintegration.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/IQ_Digital_Back_Range-WEB.pdf This is the Hasselblad I have shot with. It is Not mine trust me. A friend of mine has one. He is really not that great using it, but he can Afford it, and well anything he wants. He is a self made multi millionaire in construction , and he has a Lot of rental units also. I used to have some also for tax write offs. I used to do work for him when I had my Excavation Company. Super nice guy for a person that has Lots of money. Most rich people are not very nice. Most just use you for Their benefit, not this guy. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1244708-REG/hasselblad_h_3013740_h6d_50c_medium_format_dslr.html Looks like the 100mp version of it can shoot UHD 4K and Full HD RAW Video at 30 fps. Probably because it is a Sony sensor.

I have seen SDI ports ripped completely out on a Few ENG cameras. But yeah it is rare as hell compared to a mini HDMI port!

I found this, but this is obliviously pre ProRes Raw. "Mitch Gross 11-08-2014, 03:41 AM Mitch since you're experienced in that field I would like to hear your take on HDMI raw output. Is it technically possible to transfer a raw signal via an HDMI cable? Or does HDMI only carry encoded video signal? Many arguments out there on the matter. It is technically possible but not a great idea. RAW data can be encoded to be carried in a video stream, you just need to establish a decoder on the other side. The ARRI ALEXA does this with the T-Link RAW data stream, which is carried over dual link SDI cables. Plug them directly into a monitor and the picture looks like some crazy green-yellow Star Trek nonsense, but it is in fact a video signal. But all that means is that ARRI inserted vertical and horizontal blanking pulses and other signal structural elements and clocking so that it would seen as a video signal that could be carried over. The big difference between SDI and HDMI is that HDMI needs a linking between the two ends. There is a transmitter and a receiver circuit and they must "handshake" for the signal to go through. So if you were to build a device with RAW output over HDMI, you would likely also have to build the device on the other end. And if you are going to do that, you are going to be spending a lot of time and money to make this system work, and it will all be a technical cheat and jumping through a lot of hoops in order to make it work with the limiting factors of the signal path that must be adhered to in order to remain HDMI-compliant. At that point it is likely to be far, far easier to simply add another output port to a camera which is just a proprietary buss connection -- a bunch of pins that carry all the RAW data in whatever way is easiest for you as a manufacturer. That's what is on a camera like the F5/F55. So short answer is yes it is technically possible to send RAW over HDMI, but it is also not particularly attractive or viable a solution." I am surprised how low the Mbps rate is for ProRes Raw in 4k! Impressive. It also looks like HDMI 2.0 can do 12 bits in 4k video. So that might be enough to do the ProRes Raw?? http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinion/hdmi-2-0-vs-1-4-2913356 It looks like this ProRes Raw is along the lines of 4.4.4 which I have seen as low as 10 bit. So I am sort of sure we are going to see it going over HDMI. They are not going to put SDI ports on DSLR, Mirrorless cameras I would think?

It's 16 bit, trillions of colors, less banding, better output grading it, etc. Overkill yes, but if you are a Pro every edge you have might land more jobs, more money.
-
Yeah it does look about the best you have done colorist wise with the GH5.
-
Yeah that is half the reason a Red camera is so damn expensive is their proprietary crap. When I think about it they are a bigger Horses Ass than Sony LoL. But I think this ProRes Raw is a BIG step in the right direction, especially if you own a Apple! But, and it is a big but LoL, hmm big butts, with the new Resolve coming out now also I Wonder??

Wow BP-U batteries are kind of on the big side aren't they?
-
I thought the BMPCC came out before a MTF BMCC did? Wasn't the BMCC EF mount, PL mount out a long time before they made a MFT version of it?
-
Sony has been about as big of a horses ass as any of them for goofy standards. They have become a bit more Normal lately, but this proprietary stuff just sucks for the average Joe, Jose' out there.

I think Steve Jobs, and Tim Cook, but a lot was probably in the works with Jobs, started putting to much form over function. The latest Macbook Pro ditching the SD slot, the mike input on the iPhone, that is just going too damn far to make something thin just to be the thinnest. I am not going to go past my late 2014 Pro 15" I have. Heck my Note 8 has a mike jack and a S Pen in it ,and it is more waterproof deeper than my Apple X phone. And who the hell doesn't use SD Cards. That stuff is stupid I don't care how nice the stuff is. My son is eat up with Apple stuff, so is my brother. I used to be Years ago. But I was until lately a pretty big Gamer. Not many games out for Apple products over the years. Their video cards were always too far behind for one thing. So I just passed on them. Plus I have built my own desktops for years, and years to save money and to have what I want. So Apple was out of the question mostly for that. But yeah their stuff works right out of the box, but on average it was not cutting edge stuff, and as a gamer I wanted cutting edge. But they have gotten better, but if they keep up this thinner crap I guess they will have non moveable keys on the keyboard next LoL. This is the laptop I have for gaming. My son seems to want the Apple, so it works out for me. I don't carry it much anyways. I bought it more for RVing than anything. It weighs a ton. But it is faster than my Box on my desk. I think I am done building desktops now. They have finally got video cards as good in laptops now for not a lot more money overall. Ahh they might be one generation behind on them but that is no big deal anymore. They had a promo sale on that laptop at Micro Center that was a crazy deal. I could not turn it down. My son used to work there, and they call him about heads up deals before most people know about them. https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GV72-7RD

Man this might prove to be one hell of a NAB! Only HDMI, "for DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras You know I am not thinking SDI outputs are even necessary to have anymore other than the safety aspect of them not pulling out. That is a Big deal don't get me wrong. Surely the new HDMI standards have fast enough data transfer rates now?
-
I would not put it past Sony to have the A7s mk III using it. But yeah I think we may see it in quite a few cameras. Surely Apple had to give Companys a heads up it was coming out with ProRes Raw? Obliviously Atomos knew!

Yeas but the BMCC MFT one has a inactive mount. Not my idea of heaven on earth. But yeah more wide angle lenses for it. Bu you pretty much had to go with manual focus Cine lenses for it to get the best out of one. Nothing wrong with that though. But the BMCC was not really a camera you used off a tripod much anyways, not like you could with the BMPCC. I would imagine BM sold 10 times more BMPCC than BMCC. And yeah a EF mount with a sensor smaller than Super 35 would be dumb no doubt.
-
And a Lot use a GoPro They use both because if they get ruined they just throw them away. Way cheaper than a Arri Alexa.
-
Really nice looking B&W. One of my favorite profiles Fuji has. Well done footage. Here is a nice article for Acros. https://www.prophotonut.com/2016/02/21/acros-film-simulation-with-the-fuji-x-pro2/

Good detective work. Well stated.

Jon your not the Moderator anymore, and I can see why, so I don't think your reply's that belittle people on here ought to continue. Maybe You need to go to DPR. If you have a problem keep it to yourself. You Used to be able to respond in a civilized manner, hell if I know what has happened, but I am not fond of it. I consider a lot of people on here as friends. Maybe it's time you took a break, a long one.
-
Come on Jon that is not what you said about that camera when it first came out. Even I was a bit wrong about it. You were sort of a X-T2 lover than.
-
Maybe it is a 1" sensor with a EF mount? Your guessing just like me LoL. That picture just about has to be real. Who would think up a crazy looking camera like that to be a fake??? Ohhh eye candy. I would have killed for that camera back in the day. And yeah, as expensive as it was we Would have had to kill somebody to buy it!
-
Well Jon for the Pocket sure it works, but a m4/3 lens doesn't cover a s35 sensor, and that is the standard of the industry like it or not. So no surprise Pros are not all over it. I mean even Panny caved in on the EVA1. And Pros aren't using a BMPCC, they use Arri all day. I know we are talking about the BMPCC here, but this link is for the 2018 Sundance shindig this year. Damn near all of them used a Arri of some kind. It is the King for video, no way around it. And now even the s35 is fading, more and more company's coming out with FF for high end video cameras. http://www.icgmagazine.com/web/next-level-filmmaking/ But there is still hope for us. One of the films was shot on s16mm film. Not hard to find it there. It is the one that looks like a 50's Porn Film compared to the others.
-
Well that sure as hell is not a normal looking camera that is for sure. Boy, only BM. It looks like a Barbie Cam that is Not pink! Well it is kind of Pink at the top.
-
Well there is your answer. What ever it is LoL.
-
They are not going to have changeable modules on it get real. The GR was a flop sales wise. Goofy, complex idea. Maybe it is a folding lens? Who the hell knows.
-
Put a E mount or a EF mount on it, and it might sell more?? I think the m4/3 mount has not swayed many Pros to it. Looks like it was a mistake. Shame really.
-
Then maybe it is just, which would be a big deal, moveable EVF.
