  1. I don't think there is any such thing as 4k on it...yet.
  2. China is working on throwing everyone out of their country. They only want to have Chinese company's there. So Arri is not going there any time soon. They even want it so Everyone there Has to buy Chinese products only down the road. That is why Apple made a Bullshit statement that there are going to invest Billions and Billions of dollars in the United States. They Have to, China is throwing them out along with others. But here in the USA there is beginning to be a Huge kickback about China buying up too many company's here, and they own a Scary amount of the farms in this country right now. So we are seeing the beginning of a giant pissing contest between the two country's.
  3. The actual Sony A7 footage is really not that bad, it is it lacks just about everything that is nice to have to shoot video with. But for the money I would get the A7 mkII with the IBIS if you could swing the extra money. The body is better also. You can do a lot worse.
  4. Has this been posted yet about more DR from the Canon 5D Mk IV?? https://***URL removed***/news/0868698665/dprsplit-pulls-more-dynamic-range-from-canon-5d-mark-iv-dual-pixel-raw-files
  5. Yeah I live in the US and my Samsung Note 8 has Qualcomm processor in it. The Exynos one is defiantly the better one to have. I can't do this Mod unless I have the Exynos one. https://phandroid.com/2017/10/12/galaxy-note-8-4k-hdr-60fps-2k-video-recording/
  6. In the United States they cut off Analog right away. Maybe in other parts of the world no. Before it happened and after you could buy a Digital Converter Box for like 45 bucks that would pick up the signal for cable TV. I lived in Florida at the time and I used to fish a lot and take a battery powered TV with me. One day it worked and the next it was a Boat Anchor LoL. You couldn't give one away after that. From Wiki. The DTV (an abbreviation of digital television, also called digital broadcast) transition in the United States was the switchover from analog (the traditional method of transmitting television signals) to exclusively digital broadcasting of free over-the-air television programming. According to David Rehr, then president and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters, this transition represented "the most significant advancement of television technology since color TV was introduced."[1] For full-power TV stations, the transition went into effect on June 12, 2009, with stations ending regular programming on their analog signals no later than 11:59pm local time that day.[2]
  7. Sure, Message me I am will send you 2 of them. But I am not paying for a Kinefinity LoL. Sony sends me a Christmas card every year for all the money I sent them. How about a F55.
  8. I did pay for your camera. And I HOPE like hell you buy a Kinefinity. It would serve you right.
  9. Have you ever set foot in a TV station? Have you ever Worked in one? Doesn't sound like it from your replays.
  10. They can make it 50K but about 0.30 percent of the world would be able to actually see it. And who the hell can even broadcast 8K now. Who has a Monitor to even see it? I mean to REALLY see 8K. I can see how they could use it to edit for zooms, crops, VFX, etc, and downscale to 4k but..
  11. Well here is the You Tube guy interview with Casey Neistat.
  12. Meaning the plot sucked?? I have never seen that episode.
  13. I am surprised how you can get 1080p to look good enough on a Movie Theater screen. I mean 1080p only has to be 2 MP. And with the 3 2/3" CCD's in it I bet that was all it is. I think a Sony PMW F3 was only like 3.2 MP. But it had big Pixels for low light. I think my Panny AF100A was like 6 MP. Way more than you need.
  14. That was my dream camera to have at the time. There was a rental house that had 3 of them near where I lived. I got to hold one once LoL. I couldn't hardly justify a weeks rental on one by the time you added a HD B4 lens, extra batteries, tripod base plate, charger, insurance, on and on... It adds up Fast, Yikes. The first 4k camera was a Dalsa Origin camera and it came out in 2003. Rented for $3000.00 a DAY!! I have never seen one in person. Dalsa made Sensors for Medium Format cameras then. https://images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=A0LEVrgy1oFaukwAXwMPxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTEyNGozbWZ1BGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDQjQxMjNfMQRzZWMDc2M-?p=dalsa+origin+camera&fr=yhs-iba-1&hspart=iba&hsimp=yhs-1
  15. He needed a better solution than he had, yikes. You can't follow stuff like that on a Tripod with a Fluid Head very well. I have a Gimbal that works pretty well also I use for shooting BiF pictures that would have worked better. One like this. They are among the best you can buy. The cheaper ones wobble at the base. https://www.amazon.com/Wimberley-WH-200-Gimbal-Head-II/dp/B005JXEZEK/ref=pd_sbs_421_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005JXEZEK&pd_rd_r=B89G99KZYEKZXKNK2T3J&pd_rd_w=CESFo&pd_rd_wg=OhFHc&psc=1&refRID=B89G99KZYEKZXKNK2T3J But the guys that film this stuff have been doing it for years. They have the skill and the tools to do it with. They know what to expect.
  16. I think you also have to throw the Colorist, Editor in the mix also. You can shoot the best film in the world but once it hits the post production you better hope you have some damn good talent in there. Just like Photography today. I think you are better off being a wiz at Photoshop than being a great Photographer. Now if you are great at both, Wowzer.
  17. Well that is about as big as it can be and use B4 lenses. They can cover a m4/3 sensor if they have a doubler on them engaged. I can see TV stations buying them they are cheaper than a Big ass ENG camera, and can use the B4 lens instead of the junk ones on the $2500.00 ENG camcorders Sony, Panny, JVC try to push. They are OK for a take your time reporter on their own to interview someone say at their house but not for big time ENG work that is fast paced. They might make a damn good Documentary camera also. But I doubt the low light will be very god. so that may suck on it for that need? You get good with a B4 lens and you can focus in a heartbeat with them. But None of them that I know of are AF. And man it does Lossless 12-bit CinemaDNG Raw recording is possible for projects that require the best quality, while broadcast footage can be shot in 10-bit DNxHD 220X, DNxHD 145 or ProRes formats with metadata. That is some nice video specs. This thing might end up being a lot better than people give it credit for.
  18. It is a Hell of a lot easier for a Camera manufacturer to make a higher end Camera that shoots say 6k than a TV industry to switch over to broadcast 6k I can tell you that. And the Satellites up in the sky, guess what they are now junk also. And so are the Repeaters on the ground where all those big Dishes are at. All that needs updated now it is digital every time they up the Ante on MP. It is stupid what they expect Stations to have to do. I think the Government may have to take over and that is not a Good thing at all, and hell they will go bankrupt doing it also. This MP race is just F ing stupid in the long run. It will bite them in the ass. You think your cable bill is expensive now, grab your ass down the road. Even local TV stations will have to be able to get a piece of the pie to survive.
  19. I am not too sure about that. I didn't work in the TV industry when Digital came out but I still had friends there I knew. I don't know what country you live in but here in the United states the Federal Government Made the TV industry switch to Digital. Yeah Had to make them do it. And the reason they had to make them was it cost freaking Billions and Billions and Billions of dollars for the industry to do it. They basically had to damn near throw everything they had at TV station in the garbage. Only a few newer Tape cameras and no decks to talk about made it. Even the damn TV monitors had to go. They lost money for F ing years and had to Finance the whole damn station to buy all the new shit they had to have. And think about it. They had to Broadcast in Analog until the day they had to switch to Digital!! And they next day rip all the Analog out and throw it away. They had equipment stacked up damn near in in the Restrooms to make it work. Imagine having to have damn near Double everything in one place. And because of it there is hardly a Independent TV station left in the United States. They all got bought up by 3 or 4 conglomerates that fired some of the old timers, they made the most money, and bought in a bunch of new people that didn't know their ass from a Hole in the ground for hardly any money. And now Nobody makes shit working in a TV station anymore. That is why there are a Ton of Woman on them now. They will work for less. Not the main Breadwinners for the family on average. And then when 4k came in guess what, all new shit to buy all over again. I just don't see TV stations, Networks doing this HDR, 6k, 8k shit again. It just about Bankrupted them before, they can't keep changing this fast. I ain't happening. And I can't blame them. Maybe it will only be on the web, You Tube and Vimeo, Netflicks. But in our homes, hell I don't know. Tec is changing way to fast to just have to throw 80% of the stuff you have in the garbage and keep starting over. They really can't do it. I have no clue in the end. It ain't pretty. So the reason I wrote this I am not too sure "There will always be high-end while industry lasts as the way we know so far" may not pan out to be true down the road. Who knows?
  20. Skill trumps gear no matter what it is. Now if you have both, well that is killer. https://www.videomaker.com/videonews/2018/02/ai-running-on-a-500-computer-competes-with-multi-million-dollar-vfx-budget
  21. I don't know if this has been posted on here?? https://***URL removed***/news/6810464548/blackmagic-launches-4k-broadcast-camera-for-price-of-a-top-end-dslr
  22. What do you mean "might be"? It Will be down the road. You think Panasonic is going to stop with this Gh5s? You think Sony is not going to in the a7s series down the road? Why do we need a camera as big as a Arri Alexa anymore to shoot. I am a Cine body fan from hell, but with all the buttons on these new cameras, other than no ND filters I don't need a 15 pound camera in reality. And Rumor has it the new Canon mirrorless may have ND's in it.
  23. Yeah but the damn thing is just like Red. You Have to buy their backs, their Grip, you are going to buy their 5" monitor, they probably have a in house tripod base for it, on and on. It is that stuff that cost damn near as much as the camera body. Then down the road they will come out with their own Media just like Red did, saying off the shelf stuff is not reliable in their cameras. The grip to me is just plain stupid. It won't rotate when you want it to, and the damn thing has 3 tiny ass screws that hold it on. Who the hell thought that idea up??? Yeah it has a great output, but like any new company you are a test dummy for them, and you have to hope they are around 3 years for now. AJA Cion is a great example of , Christ I am glad I didn't buy into them years ago, and I Almost Did! They have shit around, shit around, and it still looks like shit. But it is definitely tempting I can say that. I would imagine it has as good of chance as any of them. But down the road I think even Arri will have a 5, 6 thousand dollar camera on the market. They will have to to compete with Panasonic, Sony on their Mirrorless by them. Hell maybe even Canon with their new Mirrorless will wake up by then. The days of these 80k dollar cameras are coming to an end. Think of a GH6s with 12 bit and Raw, throw a Speed Booster on it, game over.
  24. Who do you think payed for all the R&D they have now? It i is people like me and others when this stuff was young," Digital" that payed out the ass for the stuff you can buy for 1,000 bucks or less today. I bet you probably didn't pay for it.
