focal excursion? Somehow that sounds obscene! What are you going on a Safari or what. I don't get it?

I would go with the 14-140mm. I have had 2 different ones. The newest one that came on the G7 as a kit lenses in my opinion is the best one there is. It has sort of a dull finish to it. I used it on my G7 and my AF100A. It was as good as you can ask for for the money. Unless you are shooting wildlife or sports, I really don't see a need for a longer focal length than 280mm in video. And you have a reasonably wide lens at 28mm to boot. I know mine was sharp from one end to the other and pretty fast at focus. I guess if a person was well off the 12-100 is now the hot ticket. But 1100 bucks used is up there. Now just add a 7-14mm to the 14-140mm and well you are set.

He has a computer that has lasted 3 years and he thinks that is some sort of record or something? That thing is damn near new. There are Tons of computer, Mac and PC that are still going 3 times as old. WTF. For what he paid for it it out to last until he is dead.

Only the British could come up with this. "shilling 12 pence, or 3 groats, or 2 groats 2 pence and four farthings, or maybe even 4 thruppence, or 1/5 crown.... or was it 2 tuppence, a groat and 16 half-pence. I could also be 1/10 crown and tanner. But then again you could just say it was a bob. Yes, and here's your change, 3 pounds 6 shillings 20 and 4 pence."

About as cheap as I ever seen one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-C100-Cinema-Video-Camera-w-XLR-Mic-Mount-and-1-Battery/232651196921?hash=item362b1789f9:g:8rsAAOSwh21ac0vO

Panasonic knew, and knows they were not going to sell many of these cameras. You might be right but it seems crazy to me to believe it is Not a Sony built sensor , with Panasonic input. But Panasonic did build the GH1, GH2 sensors. With those and the Gh5s all being multi-aspect type it does not sound like a Sony thing to be honest. I guess someone will rip one apart and we will find out down the road.

Yeah if B&H doesn't handle something probably not a good thing to buy it. I don't buy much new high dollar wise from B&H. I just can't afford high end stuff new. And every time they have some crazy ass deal like they had on the Canon C100 I seem to never have the money, or find out about it too late.

Panasonic and Olympus co developed the GH5, EM1 mk II sensor. I doubt Panasonic had the steppers, stitchers to make the GH5s sensor. It is just too one off for them to plow that much R&D cost and production money into producing it.
-
I agree. There is no way in hell Panasonic comes up with a sensor that is that drastic of a change from the GH5 in that short of time on their own, no way.

I really don't think Philip Bloom ought to endorse Any product at all. Test them, tell it like it is, and don't take money doing it. Anytime money is involved it is easy to get the results they want you to get ,maybe not the truth. Now if he needs money go out and shoot for a living and give up reviews. Pretty simple concept. I just don't think a person ought to do both for money. And he Ain't doing this Kinefinity just for the hell of it. He is getting gear, or money, or both.

Well I guess you can judge for yourself. https://annihilationfull.org/

Never owned one, but I can't believe no one has replied. I think Mercer had one?

I have a calibrated 2k display and I found the colors on your video to be very pleasing to me. It was well done. Man I can't Stand bugs on me. Really interesting video
-
OK this is a pretty good explanation about the size difference I was talking about.
-
Yeah I think you might be right. It did take I think 4 different exposures and blend them into one. So not sure you could do this on a moving object. So not sure, hell I don't know, if a Note 8 can do HDR in Video?? I would like to find out what cameras, phones do. IS there a list someplace?

Well I was thinking last night that there might be another reason the GH5s does not have IBIS. And it might have involved extra, well it would have. The GH5s as we know has the multi Aspect Sensor on it, and because of it it is well quite a bit bigger than a normal m4/3 sensor. So that probably meant the the existing IBIS would not fit the housing that held the GH5 sensor. And it probably meant that eve if they wanted to design a new IBIS assembly it would have involved and even bigger body. I really doubt they wanted to go that route for several reasons. One None of the aftermarket camera rigs people already have would not fit anymore, and second some people piss a bitch now the body is too big. And third that would have had to be a total change over in manufacturing of it. Heck all that is really different outside is a all red movie button and a band around a knob, and the name on the front. 15 dollars of stuff probably. So yeah that among other factors have contributed to no IBIS. So you are saying a GH5 can shoot HDR and the GH5s can't? I don't know squat about HDR, but I would like to learn more about it.
-
I think you are wrong. Panasonic Had to know when they designed the GH5s that it would piss the hell out of people that had just bought a GH5 even if it Had IBIS in it. And I am sure they would Never sell a lot of them, or hell even many. It can't cost 100, to 200 dollars to do IBIS. I bet they could not have kept them in stock at 2700 dollars if they added it to them. People would be selling their GH5 left and right to buy one. It will probably be a bust for the units they sell. But they have told the world they are here to play big boy ball. I think it was an opportunity to draw a line in the sand and say a m4/3 sensor Can be used in a Cine camera. It can compete with a FF powerhouse, a Sony A7s mk II. This GH5s is a Cine camera. It is not for my mother, daughter, it is a Cheap way into with the big boys. It is that simple. Panny is saying we are here to play, and damned if they aren't. You watch the next thing they will do is Raw. And then it is grab your ass big time. Even if it is 3000 bucks, it will shake it up even more. I say other than Raw what can't it do now. How many cameras do Anamorphic, HDR, all 10 bit, pretty good at low light, ehh, ehh, not many at Any cost. Panasonic is out to kill, and they are doing it on the cheap. Hell I would argue Panasonic knowingly threw EVA1 people under the bus with the GH5s. I don't see a lot of reasons to buy a EVA1 over it. By the time they come out with Raw on the EVA1 hell the GH5s May have it. Who knows if the new sensor in it is not capable of doing it. Heck if a old 5D mk III can do Raw why not a GH5s. I would guess it is the most advanced sensor out in the world now.

Speaking of HDR I guess I have to Apologize to Jon and anyone else that has contributed to it. I never have looked at it because I had no way to Look at it, I thought. Well someone on here mentioned it works on a Note 8, and since I just happen to have a Note 8 I looked it up. And the more I look at it the more I want to do it LoL. Damn it, more money. I guess I am hooked. Thanks, I guess. This is a HDR Photo I took tonight with my Samsung Note 8. Hands down the most colorful, sharpest photo from it Ever. I think pretty good for a first effort. I think, may be wrong, that is some serious DR from a Cell Phone.

Are there any Cine cameras that don't have 10 bit other than a select few Canon cameras as of late? Nothing comes to mind. I may be wrong, but isn't that already here, isn't it called a Panasonic GH5s??
-
It is on the video with the Panasonic rep saying it on here. What the hell can I say. I am going to lie about it! What, you think they got rid of it to save a buck or two money wise? To just piss people off? What is your Theory about why they did it? So they don't get GH5 buyers mad, I doubt it.
-
Oh come on you don't really believe that is the reason for no IBIS on it. Read the articles. DP's didn't Want IBIS, they listened, not to protect the GH5. GH5 is a flop anyways, Jon is the only one that even bought one, and only for HDR. Glenn you are just a Canon lover admit it. Warts and all. Here you are shooting a 5D mk III for Raw that Canon could have given you when it first came out.
-
You act like everyone here lives in Ohio LoL. I bet half the people on here are from oversee's. Lot in England. BBC does make a shit to them. It still doesn't matter. This is 2017, 2018, 10 bit is IT. If they were ballsy enough to put Raw in this thing whey the hell not a 10 bit 1080p, why? You know the processor is robust enough. Grading 8 bit stuff doesn't cut it on a 7 thousand dollar camera in 2018. If they even had a 8 bit 50Mbps middle codec it would work. They would sell the shit out of them. God damn, Canon is just stupid as hell on some stuff. They ought to just go out of business. They do the least they can get by with as of late, not the best they can do. The 5D mk IV, 6D mk II is a great example of that.
-
I guess you can hang a external Recorder off of it. But Why do you Have to do that in this day and age? Canon is just being Canon on this thing, admit it. I hope like hell they surprise us, maybe they will think like Panny for once.
-
YOU HAVE TO STOP EVERY 15 MINUTES Glenn. What the hell good is that for the average shooter that will buy this camera?? Hollywood is Not going to buy this camera. They buy Arri's. Come up with a better Codec or put 2 damn CFast slots in the damn thing that switch . And don't give me there was not enough room for another slot. CFast card and CF card are just about same o same o. Plenty of Canon cameras with 2 CF slots.

Knowing what camera it is shot on might help. I think it looks pretty good if it is a Panasonic, needs to be a little more reddish if it is a Canon, looks as good as you will probably get if it is a Sony LoL. Overall I like it.
