Well I will agree there Will be movement when walking around, even just standing there when Off a Tripod. Heck there is movement, jitterering even on a cheap tripod. And maybe some what I see is motion cadence I am not sure. I am sure him, Jon can do better than I can with his rig, and he being Only in his 60's! But I want to say this right now, I think Jon's work Has Really gotten Way better in the last, I don't know 4 months or so. He has nothing to apologize for that's for sure. He is sort of the spark plug on here for getting out and doing stuff, and it looks like it has paid off for him to me. But the IBIS in the Gh5 is Not perfect, the G9 appears to be even better, So I guess it all boils to me is since the GH5s has No IBIS I don't see it as a negative at all. I would have used the GH5 IBIS so little it would be a waste of money to me, I can't stand movement in movies, once you see it you keep looking for it and then the whole thing sucks good movie or not. There is a reason most all movies, and most all parts of it are shot on a tripod. But I am not saying it will Never change and GH5 is a good example of that, but it is not perfect yet. I would guess for the average person the GH5 is the one to by. But if you are Damn serious about this stuff, I just don't see how you could not have before had a Sony A7s in your bad, and if you are a Panny user now the GH5s. It is a amazing machine form Panny. It is biting on the heals of the EVA1for people that can't afford one.

Every scene had movement in it, mostly up and down. I don't see how you can tout your GH5 as being ideal the way it is outputting. I know we are all guilty of moment in videos, but that is why they invented 4000 dollar tripods. I have seen pretty much NO videos out of a GH5 that are rock solid handheld. So it is not your fault totally. But you have a pretty intense video rig and you are still getting movement. Now I guess to the average person that will watch it they will not notice, but I see it. One problem is you are a old turd just like me LoL. Shake and Bake.

You do realize these are just tests, showing what Is possible. You are allowed to set Any exposure you want. I don't like bright as heck stuff either, but I don't Have to do it. Sony, Yeah Sony developed this series of Sensors for surveillance cameras they manufacture. They wanted them to be as bright and clear as possible with the least noise they could make. I say they succeed pretty well. I am pretty sure it is a Sony senor in the GH5s, but I would not bet my like on if Yet. I am pretty sure Panasonic, like any company Sony sells their Sensors to ask for certain Tweaks to the sensor if possible, but I would say most each company's Look is pretty much Baked into the Software, not hardware anymore. Mainly because nearly all the electronics anymore are on the chips now. I guess the Digital to Analog stuff might be able to be changed a bit in the dies, steppers when manufactured?

Amen brother. Someone gets it!

I really don't think Any camera, from a Arri to a GoPro, has no noise, even at low ISO on walls. I guess it has to do with digital signals. Bayer stuff, who knows. -
WE ought to Patent that idea!

That would be an understatement! I Almost bought a one new when I got Tired of waiting for Red to ship their, at the time, Vaporware. Wow sometimes waiting is a good thing! And this is why Red could not deliver Anything new! "In February 2013, Red filed for an injunction against Sony, claiming that several of its new CineAlta products, particularly the 4K-capable F65, infringed on patents the company held. They requested that Sony not only be forced to stop selling the cameras, but that they be destroyed as well.[23] Sony filed a counter suit against Red in April 2013, alleging that Red's entire product line infringed on Sony patents. In July 2013, both parties filed jointly for dismissal, and as of July 20, 2013, the case is closed." Of course did Jim Jannard tell anybody about this, Hell No! I guess he thought he was going to be a Billionaire. After this being the second big delay from Red on promised products, I just gave up on them. I waited over 2 years on the Original Red. Nada, nothing. So I said the hell with it and took my money and bought a Porsche LoL. A used one mind you, I wasn't that rich. Best decision of my life. I have had a bunch of them. Daily fun. Cine cameras are way too expensive anyways, not that Porsche's aren't either... -
There is some silly people on here!

I almost fell asleep watching it, and I just got up from a nap! I don't like them, and from their lackluster sales over many years I am not alone. Sorry. Yikes, people from Mars, the Red Planet! -
For some reason you are suppose to use a fairly wide angle lens when using it. It does look interesting. And price is certainly cheaper than a normal Gimbal, and looks less Dorky using it LoL. Come on Panny We were hoping you would be the Ginnie Pig to buy it first and tell us about the results.

I really don't know much about Shallow DoF. I am a old ENG guy. We wanted Large DoF out the Ass LoL. And I would doubt having pin thin DoF would not be to desirable in a film. And most films are shot on PL lenses and hardly and of them were fast as hell then. T 2.8 and above. But I do realize a lot of movie have snap focus in them, so they must want some sort of Thinner DoF for that.

It is called a Ronin S. I heard it is going to be cheap as hell. I swore I seen 129 bucks for it projected. Actually both cost the same. https://www.digitalphotopro.com/newswire/dji-launches-osmo-mobile-2-ronin-s-stabilizers/

Yeah a Sony F3 is a Wide ass camera. I think it has a beautiful shape to it.
-
Not at Full 4k. And the GH5s can even do 10 bit @60p in full 4k on HDMI out. And it has faster Slo Mo than the GH5. 240 versus 180. But there is a crop above 190 FPS.
-
Yeah a lot of people have been talking out their ass along with me. It has been a interesting thread to put it mildly! But this a a Damn serious camera for the money. I am sure there a few things we don't even know all about it yet it has. It sure has changed my mind about m4/3 I can tell you that. This is cheap money for what it can do it looks like. And I am a big tripod shooter anyways, so the lack of IBIS is no big deal to me. And Gimbals are getting cheaper than hell as DJI has proved!
-
Yeah i found that out in the College small town I live in with the AF100 LoL. I was stampeded. Eh I think those days are changing though.
-
Well a lot has never been done a M4/3 camera before this GH5s. Yeah I know about all the other toys, more sarcastic than reality. Mercer needs a laugh once in awhile. He is a serious guy.
-
I wonder how the cheap DJI mirrorless stabilizer works on a GH5s? The 129 dollar one.
-
Looks like it is a good time to sell your Sony F3 IronFilm!
-
I would imagine it goes both ways. That is why there is so many wires in HDMI cables. Hell at some point you have to have something as a Master Clock. That has to be Out. Everything can't be only in. But i am sure you know more about TC than I do.
-
But how many movies have that need. I am talking about the A7s mkII. It is the newest thing out. It is even better than the A7s. If you have ever been on a movie set they are 50 Lights everywhere with 25 bounce boards. It is not a one man band. There is a reason the Credits at the end is nearly as long as the movie LoL. Only poor folk need ISO 25,000 in reality. Hell these new LCD flashlights are powerful as hell now. Buy a couple of them and bounce boards at Wal Mart. Hell in like Flint.
-
But it is Better than a A7s is in low light that the Vast Majority of people will ever use I say up to 25,000 ISO. Even if you have a A7s the taking pictures at ISO 102,000 gets old quick. It is not natural looking. That is more for just showing on reviews. And like IronFilm says above, M4/3 has the DoF advantage to boot. It is rare to use razor thin DoF in Video.

This camera is a game changer that is for sure. I am really surprised Sony let Panny use this sensor! But I guess they have let Nikon use their FF ones ahead of a Sony release.
