Well I have some eyeopening moments with the list myself, but I put it up there mainly for the list of that many lens in one place, and ease to check the price of them. Like I said I never have owned that many m4/3 lenses to start with. I have owned more Olympus 4/3 lenses than anything over the years related to Oly, Panny. I guess Nikon, then Canon FF lenses most I have had. But most of them are OLD lenses like me LoL. I only have 2 m4/3 lenses for my Panasonic AF00, and will buy no more of them for it. Will be Canon EF, or other brand MF used on it.

Well the article states at the top that the ratings are based on "So to help you pick the best lens for you, we've listed the top 35 scoring lenses we've reviewed here." Not sure how else they could have rated them and made everyone happy. Looks like the site based it on Their review of each lens. It is a pretty popular, legit website. But i will admit it would not be in that order if I was doing it, but I probably have not owned over 7 or 8 of them so I would be biased as hell. And the Panasonic 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 is a turd next to the Panasonic 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 for sharpness.
  3. Interesting article about time required to color grade. https://www.redsharknews.com/post/item/4523-how-long-does-it-take-to-do-a-colour-grade

You might be giving your age away with that Dylan statement!
  5. I know this has well not a lot to do with Video, but this is the damn-est web page I have ever seen for super large ships, and beautiful cities around the world. Some of us have been lucky to have seen a few of them, I have, I can guess a few on here who have also. But if you have Never been out of the state you live in, country you live in, continent you live in you NEED to travel more LoL. There is some just drop dead gorgeous places in the world, and some amazing people that live in them.. Go see the damn things and video, photo shoot them before you fall over dead.. There are probably people that live in one of these cites on this web site here. Hell go make a movie in one of them. You only live once. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1632699&page=19
  6. Yes and you have to take into account that X amount of people Only paid 500 bucks for one for awhile. Oh I still doubt it is going to look as good as the Raw on a BMPCC. But they are not very practical without a rig. And by the time you rig one out really nice you are not too far form a GH5 price. I just don't know if they are worth the hassle anymore. And that Look is only needed for people like us, on here, compared to thousands of people that want the digital look, buying them for the 4k.. And with the GH5 heck you don't even need a tripod for a lot of stuff. And a really good monopod might be a great thing to invest in for a lot of the rest, the ones with the feet or foot on them... Its like a Sony F3, I have always wanted one, but you need to buy the one with the true 444 upgrade in them, and they are over 2000 bucks. Are they still worth it? That is GH5, Canon C100 territory, damn near a original Mini Ursa price! I am not sure on that move either. A F3 is old just like my Af100, does that make them useless no, but now I think maybe better stuff is out there for nearly the same money. Hard decisions when you don't have a lot of cash. And it is not just the body you are buying, it is the System you are getting into. That is where it gets damn expensive. But hopefully you can use parts of it on another camera.
  7. Well I guess you ought to know, you seem to be getting some damn good footage out of one.
  8. I would almost bet a professional Colorist could make the GH5 look just like the 5D mkIII or vice versa. Sharpness, well Raw probably wins there on the 5D a bit. So it comes down mostly to DR, low light ability. With a SP I think that takes care of the low light, DR well, I give a 5D 3 a clear 1 stop advantage eh, but no more. This makes a not so easy choice! Well for overall all ease of use, the GH5 kills it, for OOC ML a pain in the ass, but probably worth it if output is the ultimate goal here. And hyalinejim thanks for taking and showing us these comparisons. Good stuff.
  9. No way this thing is doing Raw for 6500 bucks. You are probably right on that point.

I would argue that Panasonic makes some of the nicest Kit Lenses of any company, probably not build wise, but they are pretty cheap to buy. But a lot probably has to do with all the electronic mumbo jumbo they do to correct deficiencies in the lenses they manufacture also helps!
  11. This, to me, is a very interesting study of Rodrigo Prieto tricks he liked to utilize. http://wolfcrow.com/blog/understanding-the-cinematography-of-rodrigo-prieto/

Yes, I noticed that. Well maybe they they are, well they Are making a heck of a lot more money than we are to say those statements... But my daughter lives in California, and heck if you don't make 75 to 100 grand a year, or more, you are considered nearly below the Poverty level there LoL. So they could Afford those lenses. Where I live in Ohio a Ford Focus, or a Honda Civic is common, when I go to California a BMW, or a Audi is the common car there. So go figure. Good thing Leica doesn't make video cameras. Imagine what a 5x Cine zoom lens would cost from them on a s35 PL mount! Make a Cooke lens look like a bargain.
  13. Little movie I threw together, eh I found on the Web, sorry. This thing is pretty incredible. On my monitor, well Damn is all I can say! http://www.newsshooter.com/2017/05/06/51240/
  14. Well I guess a lot depends on if you plan on using any long, heavier lenses now, or in the future. the 1D series is way better for that purpose. The 5D mkIV works for shorter lenses, but I doubt the weight difference is that much of a saving over the 1D. I don't have much of a love for either one. I agree with IronFilm, they both are just too overpriced for video use for what you get. Canon in reality just doesn't give a shit about video for anything they make, unless it starts with a C---. And even the C series seems gimped as hell at times. I have no clue what they think about in a Boardroom meeting about video?? I think maybe They are clueless at times. They sure as heck are not market leaders in Video. Sony has that honor by miles. But I think everyone needs to pick up the pace that is behind in video. I am sure even Still Digital cameras will be using Video in a sense, just lke the 6k Photo mode mode is in the GH5. People will just take bursts of video and pick out the best for Photos.

How about this Boys and Girls. Top 35 m4/3 lenses. Great help I think, sort of a all in one article. Saves looking all over heck. And with a Amazon link to help figure out the cost. https://www.ephotozine.com/article/top-35-best-lenses-for-micro-four-thirds-cameras-2017-30039
  16. They have a pretty Gay video to showcase it! Yikes. But a interesting product.
  17. Canon 24-105mm f4 lens is pretty much the video standard on even top end video cameras.
  18. Well I have to agree. Reason I have a AF100. Gets the job done. Great learning tool also. And hell it looks impressive as hell on a tripod LoL. I live in a college town, you can't believe how many "girls, well women" want to give a old turd like me their Phone Number LoL. They all, "boys, well men" also, mostly drunk by the way, not as many, want to be in the "Movie" Crazy ass stuff LoL.
  19. Olympus, like in the EM1 mkII Olympus?? Really? Why so? Heck of a lot of ? marks here!
  20. lanparte Lens cage. Great idea for using a heavy lens. http://www.newsshooter.com/2017/04/30/lanparte-camera-cages-with-built-in-lens-adapters-nab-2017/
  21. Link to a Varicam magazine for you guys that like them. https://issuu.com/varicam/docs/shotonvaricam_1
  22. And I don't have a clue if A1ex at ML will ever do it, but whats not to stop someone from hacking a C100 to shoot 2k, 2.5k, heck even 4k, It has a 4k, or maybe more sensor in it? Same sensor as the original C300, C500 as far as I know.
  23. For $2000.00 I think I would buy a used Canon C100 with the DPAF in it to be honest. I don't really think we need 4k for the stuff the average person does on here. It's nice to have I guess, but it does not lead to any film look as far as I can see. Maybe down sampled to 1080p does, 4k eh, not so much.. And the C100 already down samples from 4k to 1080p automatically. So less work to do in post with it.
