Well I am watching it on my 30" sIPS 2k monitor and the GH5 was wonderful looking, and they Sony looked, well Lifeless. But who knows what settings were used in each. I find it hard to believe the Sony is really that Bad! It says below the video "1600 ISO 1/50 standard picture profile" They both Ought to work at that ISO, especially the A6500! Makes me think the GH5 is maybe the best looking Video camera in the world LoL. The NEW baby Alexa. Hell , maybe the GH5 is the Alexa's Father!

It overheats and quits!! You want a camera that does That on a Vacation??? -
Yeah the GH5 is tons better looking than the Sony A6500. But both Suck Ass on pans.

List of some with good Nits.

Do they do Video at all?
-
Yeah that is a LOT better. But I think I would still like to see it a bit darker. But I agree with Mattias, nice to see some monochrome stuff. It can be beautiful if done right. Really really beautiful.
-
Yeah, that also LoL. And, I can't spell very well either, using even for ever!
-
That is about the worse B&W footage I have even seen in my life! I Hope it was overexposed, and by a Lot. If not, throw that LuT in the garbage. Yikes.

I'm shooting YouTube content with my 1DC and CONTAX lenses

Oh come on, nothing that simple could possibly work. Well maybe , well heck yes. just start doing it by using your camera, just start doing it by editing. Hell I might actually be able to make a movie if I "just start doing it"! Bingo! -
Compact camera for vacation photography and video

Yeah the Plus one with the 2 lenses would not be too shabby. I have a iPhone 6s Plus, and other than the ability to zoom, it is damn hard to beat for the ease of use, and the crazy good output. And they can do Raw and they have a Mic input. Now are you going to print 16x24 with them, No. But who prints much anymore anyways. -

Well a used, heck even new Panasonic G7 comes pretty close to what you want. As to the "Raw pictures", sure the G7 does that also. Put a 20mm 1.7 pancake lens on it. It is pretty small. I don't know about discrete though. Coat pocket, not pants pocket. -
There is No need for the proof. If m4/3 was all you need, APSC is all you need, why the hell does anyone make a FF camera, a medium format camera?? Why is s35mm the gold standard, and s16 not?? It is for a reason. and the reason is more MP, which we don't Need in video, and a better DoF look. I don't care what anyone says on here about equivalence, there is a reason FF is popular as hell. It is is better looking than m4/3. If we had the money to buy a Arri Alexa over the GH5 we all would. Not because of just the prestige of owning it because of the look. It is not all about the film look, because it looks better than a m4/3 sensor looks. It would Never look as good as the Arri.

Yes they did, but like some Canon 1d series cameras I have had, they have TOO damn many settings!
-
Well we all know it is Way to early on tests to show weather the GH5 is "normal" GH4 AF or they did make a real improvement.
-
Funny short video. And we thought we had it bad.

I think you are chasing a dead horse LoL. Those days are long gone. Hell buy a Red One MX and be happy!!. One of the best cameras ever made! And heck, still is top shelf stuff with the Raw on them. You can still made a Hollywood movie with one. How cool is that!

Ahh, I have had a few Mamiya Universal Press Cameras in the day. Most with 6x7 backs, 6x9 once.. I used Mamiya Pro RB67's a lot! And with Polaroid backs on them. I loved how you could just rotate the revolving back to go to Portrait mode in a few seconds. But they were a handful, but with the bellows on them they were good for Macro also. And built like a Tank!
-
Wow I have Never even heard of one of those, and I have had about every camera made LoL!! I have no clue about what you can do or not with them?? Interesting. They are big as heck. There were a few Digital backs that fit the Mamiya, and Hassy cameras in the day but that was about it. We are talking like 14mp backs at the time. There was a back that took like 5 minutes to take a shot. It had to make like 3 passes then to get all 3 colors. People used it for Fine Art and Jewelry beacusethere was no motion.

Well I doubt any of the MF cameras really make too much difference to us good or bad. We can't afford the bodies, let alone the lenses. And they are going to suck at video and video controls. So they are a dead horse to us in reality.
-
You are completely right. No way in heck you are ever going to get a MF look DoF wise unless you use a MF camera. And it trickeles down the same wayall the way to 8mm or less. There IS a reason people shot with 8x10 view cameras. DoF.
-
Well its Big advantage is Shallow DoF, big time DoF. And I don't know the sensor Pixel size but I bet it is using some pretty dang big ones compared to what say a 42mp Sony A7r mkII has. I think the sensor is 70% larger than FF. That is a big ass sensor area wise. Plus it has Raw, yeah Raw MF output. That is a huge thing, no pun intended.

Well there is going to be a hell of a lot of unhappy people if YouTube goes away. And with no ads it will happen, bigger than hell. No one else can step up to do it if they go. I used to buy skids of old servers YouTube used to re sale. They go through them like water. They have Thousands and Thousands of them. They have people Hot Swapping Hard Drives on Roller Skates. Really they do. That is their job ALL day. So no one could just come in, take over what YouTube handles with that many Gigabits of data servers wise. Ain't happening.

"300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute! Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day. In an average month, 8 out of 10 18-49 year-olds watch YouTube." YouTube quote. So you really think real PEOPLE are going to review 300 hours of video every minute!! It ain't never going to happen. And even if they could, who determines what is Too Raunchy, too Wicked, too Evil, etc.,etc. Ad suppliers need to suck it up and face reality that UT is what it is, and not pass up a opportunity to reach 5 Billion people a day. Yeah with a big "B" amount of people. Staggering amount of people.
