  1. If Olympus goes m4/3 will go and they are Not doing well as of late. They are on hardly anyone's radar as of late. The EM1 X is a non starter, just too much money, and the EM1 mk II is just too small of an upgrade over the original to be worth it in this day and age. And there are 150 million FF lenses out there, probably even more.. I doubt that many people have actually bought a GH5 when they cost 2000 dollars when new, and I doubt BMD has sold that many PK4's. Sure we buy them but how many outside of here do. Yeah maybe the G85 sold, but here in America there is NEVER a place that sells Olympus or Panasonic other than big box stores in New York. They don't even advertise here anymore. Most of the people that buy a Oly EM1 are birders, and how many of them are there. After a few years most Olympus camera bodies are discounted by the factory so much they nearly give them away. Hech look at the price of a new GH5 now. Hard to make money that way. Hey personally I really like m4/3, but it seems most people don't, and so long term it is a dead duck.
  2. Why, there are 70 million APS-C lenses out there that are cheap as hell. Give it up, it gets old. m4/3 is a dying mount. Olympus is just about done, and Panasonic is not going to support 3 mounts. It is suscide. A company would have to be crazy to go m4/3 long term production wise.
  3. Hmm I disagree. The larger the sensor the more time it takes to read the entire sensor. Global Shutter reads it all at once. It takes a processor from hell to read a MF sensor, that is why they are the worst of the bunch.
  4. I think the main draw to people ever wanting a Red camera was the better DR they promised, and finally did produce later, their original Red One was a little lacking in DR, and the Raw, especially being able to compress it so much and it still hold up. Those 2 things make one heck of a difference to high end productions, especially in the early years of Digital Cinema. Still does, not counting Red sort of gave high end DoP,s camera bodies to use for free to promote them, even custom building them for them. That helps lol.
  5. Yeah but unless any of the cameras have a Global Shutter the Rolling Shutter in FF would be a no go for me. That is the big advantage of 1", m4/3 sensors, even the 3 CCD ones. And so far if a camera that has a GS in it it is a dog in low light. So that is not so hot either. I am sure they can improve that with faster processors, readouts on the sensors..
  6. I liked the design of it though, but sure as hell didn't like the price of it for what it was!
  7. You really need a Sony A7s to be doing that stuff at night lol. Everybody ought to have at least the original one in their kit. They are in the 700 dollar range now. Hell of a lot cheaper than a 0.95 lens and a speedbooster to get worse results, and have too shallow of DoF to boot for that kind of shooting situation..
  8. There is no way in hell that camera has 10.7 stops of DR @ 25,600 ISO. If it had 8 it would be amazing.
  9. If it goes FF no one on here is going to be able to afford it. We don't need 10,000 dollar cameras. We need 2000, 3000 Dollar ones..
  10. Wow that would be a pretty sweet camera. Too bad it isn't 1000 dollars cheaper. Kind of high for a 1'' sensor. But it has some nice specs. You kind of figure it is sort of a Sony RX 10 mk IV in a bigger body. Can't cost more than twice as much money to do that. PK4 proves you can do stuff cheaper if you really want to.
  11. Wow the music is perfect for that video at the speed.
  12. I have a pretty expensive Monitor and I have a Spider that I calibrate it about every 2 weeks. So if you think it is great well that is fine, but to my eyes and monitor it was a piss poor bit of grading on their part. Just plain flat lazy to be be honest. Probably just used a LuT for the whole thing and left it at that. I guess YMWV As for the ludicrous response I guess you just want people on here to be happy with some amateur grade and say that is acceptable. That isn't the way it is suppose to work. I don't expect perfection. but that stuff was embarrassing.
  13. This a screen shot example why I think Digital on certain things can not look like film. This was probably killer looking on the origina; print.
  14. Yeah if you are not a Pro making money on it eat shit and die on the survey. Pretty gay, Like someone who is just a hobbiest can't contribute a good suggestion?
  15. My biggest beef with e Fuji is lenses or the lack there in. True these is not a lot of cheap Sony FE lenses, but there is a ton of adapters out there for there compared to the Fuji. Plus there is a good upgrade path with Sony, not so much with Fuji. But the XT-3 is a damn nice camera for the money. Not an easy choice.
  16. Yeah if it has a CCD sensor that is a good thing. What about the Leica Monochrome? That would be a real winner in my mind. Anyone used one on here? Out of my price range.
  17. Well a lot of scanners can't use 6x7 or bigger, and if they do they get pretty expensive. Something to consider.
  18. Hmm, I will be honest, I don't see a big difference. But I am new to it.
  19. Well I guess your post tells a lot about you. F your down vote. I think Andrew hit the nail on the head. Stupid sort of fits. "Hey guys, just trying to help. Thanks, Andrew, for going through my post history in a strange attempt to shame me or call me stupid or something. I think that says more about you than it does about me".
  20. I will let you guess. I think you are smart enough.
  21. Yeah there is no way they are that far apart in this day and age. Years ago, well yeah. They were both off the deep edge, maybe in their own way, good or bad. Now, both are very good . Even Panasonic has gotten very good. I think they have caught up with Canon, maybe even surpassed them. The S1 is just to my mind damn near perfect. I can see no reason to even grade it.
  22. Sony won on the comments and I agree. Sony has picked up the pace as of late like it or not. They are not the leader on video for no reason.
  23. Says who? I have done it. Ever heard of multiple converters?
  24. I think the blending of the sea and land shots were a bit clunky, but I would expect that transition. Kind of uneasy inserts. I thought the CS was better than average from previous videos on one I have seen. I will give her credit for that. Maybe she come from more of a Photography background? Hard to move between the two. This stuff is hard. There is a reason when the credits roll at the end why there are about a Hundred people or more listed on top notch films. But we are beginning to shrink down that list if a person takes their time and thinks things out. Slow and easy is the trick. You can't rush video. You can spray and pray in Photo, rarely happens with video. Trouble is at 24p there are 1440 frames in a minute. That is a lot of shots and data.
