Well he does get off his ass and actually shoot something. A whole lot more than most of us do on here, me included. So what ever you want to call it, he is making Something happen. All we do on average is just talk about gear. Shit anyone can do that. Talk is cheap as they say. I know this site is sort about gear but.. Seems like what he does would be just as easy for us to do as he does. Better than nothing. Cheap to do also. A GoPro, a selfie stick, and a set of balls. No need to even edit or grade. Easy mode for even a beginner. Now if I just had a Arri to do it with. ?

Yeah but all his videos revolve around picking up hitchhikers. So he does have a story. Sure it is spontaneous, but he has a plan, he is not sure what the end result is, just at as viewer has no clue, and that is what makes it work. I don't see how you can say Just because it is a Vlog it can't have a serious story. And he has a lot more followers than I do, so he is doing something right we aren't. Nearly a 100,000 followers. As to filming well I guess soon as you hit record you are filming lol.

Too dark for my liking. But I guess they were trying to show off it's low light capability. But I think they went too far with it on a consistent basis..

Yeah crazy good video that on paper camera wise, and like you said grading, lighting is bad, but it is just such a gripping story you can't stop watching. Just shows story is King.

Well it is from YouTube. But this guys videos are probably just shot with a GoPro. But it is the story that makes his footage happen. I have watched some of his videos several times and it is simple as hell what he does, but boy you just want to find out what is the mystery in the end. It just proves it is all about the story, not what it was shot with.

Yeah since ML is using ML CDNG files they should be on par. But I doubt they can do 14bit on the Z6. But it seems just about anything is possible there days, who knows.
-
We are talking Raw over HDMI. Now SDI sure. I am really not sure they are actually getting true 14bit video on ML. I doubt back then Canon converters were really that good, especially on the cheaper models. "14bit raw and 12bit raw on the 5D Mk3 is imperceptible" That statement sort of highlights my assumption. There should be a noticeable difference, especially in video..

Well you really Have to believe in some things or you never do anything. But the money you have is a pretty big factor in all things in life. If you have Millions of Dollars loosing 50,000 Dollars is no big deal. If you are making 40,000 Dollars a year, loosing 50,000 you are probably nearly bankrupt. So everyone has different thresholds.

I would guess 12 bit Raw, which is damn good don't get me wrong, is the best they are going to do with the Z6. You are not going to match Photo DR, just like @androidlad said.

Pictures or it never happened.

I am pretty sure there will be a GH6, but what price? I guess it depends on what they add to it over the GH5. But I still don't see how they can charge Any more than the S1.
-
You have been busy with your Calculator lol. Interesting info. Thanks.

There may not ever be a GH6, who knows. I don't see how they can sell a m4/3 camera for as much or more than the S1 FF is. Panasonic has put their ass in a peculiar spot. What, they going to admit the GH5 was too expensive and come out with a GH6 for 1500 Dollars? They may just give up on m4/3. I don't see how you can sell them when the XT-3, Canon RS is so damn cheap now. Look at the A6400, 900 dollars. Yeah we might not think the A6400 is the best thing since sliced bread, but to the average person getting into video it seems like a better buy being APSC than any m4/3 camera. And a lot of people don't even know Panasonic Makes cameras.

Is the EOS-M *THE* Digital Super-8 Camera?
webrunner5 replied to Matt James Smith ?'s topic in Cameras
OK a few questions. I have had my EOS M now for a few days. Got my M42 adapter now, and I have laying around aToyo 24mm 2.8 and a 135mm 2.8. Ready to load ML on it. But It has firmware 2.0.3 on it and every build I see seems to need Firmware 2.0.2 to use it. Do I have to roll it back, and if I do I am not finding how to do it, or the original 2.0.2 firmware anywhere. Hey I am old. ☹️ -
Need some advice on a camera decision. Z6/XT-3/D750
webrunner5 replied to Geoff CB's topic in Cameras
There is some pretty good buys on the Z6 used now. I think I would lean that way if you want to stay Nikon which makes sense. It is lacking in a few things, but with a external recorder that solves most of it's problems, and it has the potential to be much better than a D750 can ever do. The D750 to me is just Way too much money now for what you can get. The Fuji XT-3 kills it for hardly any more money used if you are not concerned about the Fuji not being FF. You can also go with a Speedbooster on it.. But if you don't really have any glass to talk about I would give the Panasonic S1 a look. I Really like this camera, and it has a damn good upgrade path now. That really is important. Nikon and Fuji as of now is a dead end. Sony is even better. From a A6400 to a Sony Venice, and everything in between. -
Seems like it is another Sony hater thread on your part. Give it a rest, Jesus. If you don't like them fine, don't buy one or use one. End of story. How hard is that. Christ use your God Damn XT-3 and be happy. Hell have sex with it, you can probably find a way somehow. ? And where is that Snowmobile footage you promised using the Osmo Pocket!

They Need to come out with a 1" sensor Osmo Pocket. That is what I want.

Ultra Cheap Run & Gun Anamorphic from a Motorcycle
webrunner5 replied to Madrivermoco's topic in Cameras
Plenty of videos on YouTube how to do it. This setup the Moondog just screws onto the lens. The thread size, filter size is the same. I did it myself a few years ago.
