Rotating makes it useable Aperture wise or locks the Aperture. But there should be a dot or something where you have to rotate the ring to mount the lens on the adapter. You will have maybe more fun figuring out how to get the damn lens and adapter off. 😵

I used to program million dollar cnc machines years ago. What a boring ass way to spend a day, but it paid well as long as you maintained your sanity. Probably what is wrong with me today! I like the video a lot but with a grade like that you can get that look with a 75 dollar Panasonic GH1. That sort of looks like the stuff I like you shoot Marty.

I always laugh when they want you to buy a 2500 dollar camera and they show the results using 100,000 dollars of shit and a crew of 10 to get the shot.

The FS6 with the ability to set the electronic ND filter on auto is a total game changer for run n gun I think.

Yeah, Cleff has been doing tests on DPR for a Long time. I find his stuff more accurate in real life than DXO's. Cine D's DR test of video cameras are way more accurate than what the company's spew out. Like Red's 20 stops bullshit.

2000 nits yikes, I think the highest phone is the Apple 13 pro Max at like 1050 nits, I think the Samsung S22 Ultra is about the same also. The Sony's are around 500 nits. One bad thing about the Xperia's is that they get hotter than heck when recording.

But I don't think DXO measures Video DR, just Photo DR.

No expert on the subject but from what I have seen most cameras are worse in video than photo DR wise. You have to figure most photo stuff is 12, 14, even 16bit raw. So that gives it an edge over video. Now maybe in HDR video but that has to be in 10bit a least.

Well, The Sony Xperia Pro 5G has a HDMI port in it, and an Apple 13 Pro has ProRes in it. So, it is not like they can't or won't be able do it.

Yeah, unfortunately the GH4 was an odd duck. I never owned one, the colors were funky and well it just looked rushed to market to me. I had a G7 I think at the time, and I really liked it too well to give up for a GH4. The GH5 was a massive improvement, but it took a Long time for it to come out. The GH6 is the same way time wise, but I have not been super impressed with it either, it just seems like most of the people that have it don't publish much about it, just the normal talking heads seem to review it on YouTube, and even then don't get much into how good or bad it is. Odd for sure.
