  1. The Z6 as of now Does NOT shoot Raw. It might Never shoot Raw. And and how many people even want to shit with Raw if it does. I really don't. Probably 3 people on here even use Raw. Even Mercer, if he shot ProRes LT, would be on his 5th episode of his movie by now. And the picture above is a Photo, not a frame grab. Last I knew this is a video site pretty much. Not hard in this day to figure out how to make a camera shoot Photos. Nikon sort of has been doing that for a few years. I could give a rats ass about photos. My phone can do that, and probably just about as good in decent to good light..
  2. ???? Notice he said Might! ?

    Lenses

Looks a little green to me. ?
  4. The S1 is Not a better video camera. It is touted as a better Photo camera. How many give a crap about that on here. I sure as hell in this day and age am not paying 2500 bucks for a new Photo camera that probably in reality sucks ass in the AF department. What the hell good is that! You sort of only get one shot, pun intended. I can buy a used Canon 1Dx, or a Nikon D4s for that kind of money, and I WILL get the shot, great color and all. And I can drive nails with them if I need to, and fend off serial killers if need be.. Plus I can probably find a F ing native lens for them to boot that I can still filter booze with both kidneys in tact. Leica Really doesn't Need any more money.
  5. Well they All have to go back.
  6. I seriously doubt any solution, other than sending it back to Panasonic, is going to work. At a minimum you are going to have to take the entire top of the body off to reach the nuts.
  7. Looks like Red has made some big gains on making 8K footage doable even on a Laptop. https://***URL not allowed***/reds-easier-8k-workflow-with-realtime-gpu-decode-and-new-redcine-x-pro/
  8. Buy a Gimbal you cheap skates lol. I doubt you will see on Cine camera with IBIS anytime soon.
  9. Yeah this whole new marriage of Panasonic, Leica looks to me to be heading for Disaster. It is going to be detrimental to both down the road. And Sigma got sucked right into it.
  10. Well I am not sure but I think there is a whole new sensor in the C100 mk II compared to the original. CS is Way different. Won't be easy matching it. First one is a Lot grittier looking, Pastel looking to the new one. The mk II is more true to reality, but I still like the look of the old one better. Kind of a original Sony a7s look. As to the AF update, well you probably could get your money back if you sell it even paying the 500 Bucks. Doubt anyone else does it but Canon. Canon seems to still have the web site up yet for the Sensor swap. But then nothing seems to ever be taken down on the web lol. But you would think Canon would if not available yet. https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/explore/product-showcases/cameras-and-lenses/cinema-eos-c100
  11. Yeah for a cheap ass camera and rig it is pretty amazing. It took them years to do according to their Facebook page, but I don't think much of it was due to the camera. Just stuff when you are trying to do a zero budget film with friends, and limited gear, and not much time more than anything. Kind of a Mercer type film LoL. I have a bad feeling I will be dead before he finishes it. And I doubt they have cable, or internet in Hell. ?
  12. This is what a OG BMPCC Can, and does look like. Now granted it is wasn't done by just Bob down the street. But you can see what it is capable of. And it isn't all crushed Blacks and noise. Bottom picture was their rig. Mercer sent me the link to the film. From their Facebook page. "Our main camera throughout the shoot has been a BMPCC, with a range of C-Mount and M43 lenses (and one enormous M42 - the Pentacon 300). That camera has been powered by an Anker Pro 2 (with a modified cable, to fit the tiny input on the BMPCC). The Anker is mounted to the rig via a 90 degree metal plate from B&Q, some 15mm plumbers clamps, and some velcro tape. We've had a bog-standard manfrotto tripod throughout, a cheap rails/plate set from India (Cine City on Ebay I think..?) and a cheap camtree cage. On the front we've got a Fotga mattebox (with barn doors and a swing-out front - invaluable), a set of Tiffen NDs (kindly donated), and a Hoya 82mm Polariser screwed in to a filter tray and left in one of the slots for the duration of the shoot."
  13. This place sells them, but they are not giving them away lol. http://www.mosaicengineering.com/
  14. Yeah if you think just crushing the blacks and adding noise mimics a OG BMPCC, and think clean as a whistle is a Cine look to strive for, well... Better off with a C100 if you want a clean look. You don't have to buy any add on extra stuff for them. Just Grab and Go. Shoot for hours with one battery, and one cheap ass SD card. Really don't even need to grade it if you get the exposure right in camera. But I guess everyone has a different idea what good or bad is, so maybe you really like that look. And yeah I guess at times even a Arri crushes the blacks, especially night shots. But no camera for as cheap as a OG is, can produce a better looking output If you want a Cine look. Now it is not going to produce a clean look like the PK4, C100 can, and probably most of the time you want that clean look, especially in this day and age. So the OG is not going to be a good choice for that. So I guess the PK4 is a good compromise for both a modern look, and the ability to sort of look like the older one with skill. But that is the key, skill for any of the cameras. But some are just a lot easier to Look like you have skill lol. The new Fuji XT-3 comes to mind, the old C100, etc. The OG was not a point and shoot by a long shot. There is a lot more bad looking footage from them on the web than great looking footage.
  15. You really can't totally turn it off, it still floats, that is why they came out with the GH5s. I think the Z6, Z7 has a way to lock the IBIS mechanism to help it a bit though.
  16. It has the worse CS Sony ever made OOC. But with Raw, or an External Recorder they are really good. Actually great for the money.
  17. People that buy Cine cameras want Nothing to do with IBIS. Micro jitters is a death wish problem that you Really don't need to add to already a lot of inherent problems for video.
  18. Yeah he is a wiz at HLG stuff and Luts.
  19. Yeah that is sort of a problem with them. You need a recorder. The whole package is not as cheap as it looks when you add that in, not counting the bulk. But they can get the job done when you get it all together. But most of the Cine cameras can get pretty large overall when you add all you really need to make it happen, even a lowly a7s. ?
  20. Well the guy has 22 videos on grading Resolve. I would Hope he knows what he is doing lol.
  21. Yeah here is one with the Raw upgrade and a Metabones for it for 3000 Dollars. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-PXW-FS5-XDCAM-Super-35-Camera-RAW-Upgrade-Metabones-Canon/183783100085?hash=item2aca538eb5%3Ag%3A7eMAAOSwnQFcvMQb&LH_BIN=1&frcectupt=true

  23. Great stuff. When I was young people would have said it was "Groovy". Now I call it pretty Awesome. ?
