  1. Lot of time if you remove the foam and just use the Dead Cat the thing falls off, or nearly does. It depends on the model and mike to be honest.
  2. I don't think I have ever heard of a Toyota Celica GTi. GT not GTi. GTi VW yeah. Is that a European model?
  3. Oh I don't dispute there were an amazing bunch of talent in that Era, but a hell of a lot of people like that are mostly Rebels at heart, a good thing. Not creatures of normal behavior. Do their own thing. The problem is they are a prime target for a Jackass like Stalin, Hitler. They all, even the intellectuals, all want a better world for everyone, but Communism is just a F ing power grab and money grab, that the end result is even worse conditions. It is the biggest scam in the world and a ton of people fall for it whether willingly or forced, most forced. And death and destruction follows all of it. Communism just doesn't work in the long run. It just ends up corrupt as hell because the "people" are no longer in control of Anything. The leaders just end up being a different kind of King like you had before, only WAY worse and cruel. Human life doesn't amount to a shit. I have lived long enough to see a lot of evil. And it is Never going to end until the world ends. There is Always a evil Bastard out there with some Pied Piper song to sing.. We have California here to propagate those crazy people lol. It needs to break off and drift out to sea. Ehh, maybe sink in the process, all lives lost. It's a silly ass State. And Hollywood leads the way. With Jerry Brown, the modern day Pied Piper. But he was not Hitler, he had Some good intentions, it is just not able to be sustained.
  4. He filmed Movie with a Camera before all that happened to him. He fell out of favor way after that movie. Yeah at the end he may have seen the light as they say, but he was thick in it in the beginning. Shit happens. But still. He ain't no film hero of mine, talent or not.
  5. Yeah that whole era over there was a shit storm of revolt and reform. Some good, but mostly pretty terrible. Main reason for WWII. Full of crazy ass people. Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini.
  6. Shit I was WAY better than he was. ? You tend to over exaggerate stuff. It is not even in color, and the cuts, phhff lol. Pretty poor use of Photoshop if you ask me. Why didn't he use Digital? ?
  7. Yeah but had a crew of thousands, not really, but you get the point, to help him out. Hell All he did was direct, maybe stick his face in the viewfinder every once in awhile. He didn't do Everything like the average person has to do, they do all of it, or maybe have your crazy uncle hold a boom mike, the easy part. ?
  8. I can tell you from experience when you start doing this stuff for money you spend one hell of a lot of nights awake. You are into a business that mostly on paper you have ONE shot at doing it. And if Anything is off by a good bit your goose is cooked no matter what you do to try and repair it, either in Post or with the Client. And there is always some talented as hell 16 year old kid down the street that is nipping at your heals. Because now they can get in pretty cheap at the start and look like a shooting star to you and your clients lol. Then it pretty much boils down to who screws up less, and has the better ideas. That is what keeps you up at night, because that is an unsustainable career path to always be better and perfect. Because now a hell of a lot more people can get into doing this stuff, and all of them can't all be stupid lol.. Just do this as a hobby, a cheap hobby and be happy, or work for someone else lol. YOU might live longer if you do.
  9. Yeah I would spend my money on a Zacuto Gratical HD LCD with a shoulder rig over a 7" monitor and the MX. Now if you have a crew looking over your shoulder, or you are looking over their shoulder lol, than I can see the 7" monitor. But man looking though a high end eyepiece is pure joy over an external monitor, especially outside. The big trouble is you probably need to have both, and that is why doing video is so damn God Damn expensive if you want to get serious about it. That is why I got out of it years ago, there is no end to the money you really Need to spend to stay competitive. And now with new stuff coming out every week that is actually better than what you got, it is a Death Sentence now to do it. You are Always going to feel behind. Because lets be honest, this newer stuff is just flat easier to use. Manual everything is a pain in the ass when you are rushed, or tired, or frustrated, or worse, unsure of yourself in the job you are undertaking. Man now that is when it is some scary shit.. And that will, and does happen when big money is on the line from a client.
  10. I don't want to sound silly but how strong are you? If you are on the bigger side go Ronin S. It is sort of the best there is for the money. I don't see how going with the lightest one is going to work with all the stuff you are adding. The Dji Ronin mx with thumb control is some pretty big boy money, not counting heavy as heck. It weighs 6.11 lbs without the thumb. None of them you will Need to buy with all that weight you are adding are going to be light. Running around holding 10 lbs out straight half the day doesn't sound like my cup of tea. Maybe you need to think about a vest. Depends on what your shooting situation is, maybe it is 30 seconds at a time? Maybe you just need to add More weight and come up with a good shoulder Rig and be done with it. Heck of a lot cheaper, and a lot easier to operate unless you are going for total perfection and a lot of low angle stuff, even then you can use a handle to get that kind of angle. You can hold a 20 lbs or more rig on your shoulder for an amazing amount of time. Been there done that. Either way, the bigger you go the bigger your Wallet better be, and your body. At least with the MX you Could add that Monitor you have, but 7" sounds a bit big, and a extra battery, Mike, LCD on and on. The Gimbal alone can handle 10 lbs, not counting what you can add to the cage. It is the most veritable. But also the most money by far. Decisions, decisions.
  11. Yeah I had the "Bulging Battery" Thingy on my Note 7. Next phase is Holy Shit I am on fire or worse. A real confidence builder in your Pocket, right next to your Johnson lol. ?
  12. Sort of a toss up. I guess it depends on your lens lineup.

I Totally agree. Like Apple or not, the CS on a newer iPhone is just amazing OOC. You are going to have one hell of a time using a "Real" camera to match one. And the iPhone happily just goes on banging them out left and right, nearly perfect every time. It is maddening to try and top one. And the AF is just crazy good also. And the XS, Max have Stereo recording in them to boot. Of all the pictures I took with mine to Florida I don't think one of them was the cameras fault if bad. On paper if I composed right, and didn't have my finger in the way of the lens lol, they were All Keepers on paper. Amazing to be honest, and frustrating to boot. If they just had a Zoom, and were a bit better in low light, but my XS is surprisingly pretty good in low light for a phone, I am not sure I would take a 100mp Phase One over a iPhone if it had those features.. I know I was kidding Ironfilm about his boom operating, but if they get Cine cameras as good as a damn iPhone is now there is going to be a hell of a lot of people out of a job.?
  14. I think in a lot of it, especially in the beginning, can be attributed to the super shallow DoF it has. That is something in bright conditions you really have to be aware of as it draws your eyes away from the main subject. Doing that over emphasizes the bright parts and appears overexposed, which in parts I am sure it is. I am not a big fan of super fast lenses, it just makes overall shooting a Lot easier to make mistakes, Not counting expensive. That is Not what a person needs lol, especially on the Video side. Now it might have been shot on a long Telephoto lens from a distance, who knows. But the danger still exists doing that. Ahh info said it was shot on a Canon Pancake EF-M 22mm lens. You can bet your Buttocks it was set to f2 a Lot lol. But I thought the hair on the woman was beautifully exposed and had a ton of detail. Perfect exposure through and through, no, but pretty damn impressive CS and resolution for a camera that cost just peanuts to buy.
  15. Yeah look at how good a Canon C100, Sony PMW F3, OG BMPCC, Canon 5D mk III, Nikon D750, on and on look at "just" 1080p. 4K is really not needed for the vast majority of people. You are completely right.

Wow now that shot is just spectacular.
  17. Speaking of Bass I have Always been amazed by this stat since I learned it at age 30 when I was playing Bass guitar.. A 20 Hz wavelength is about 60 feet long, or 720 inches. A 40 Hz one is 28 foot long. If you are in a 14 foot room you will never hear the 40 Hz. It will cancel it's self out.

Wow those are great. Well done. I particularly like the Mount Fuji one. What a beautiful mountain.
  19. This is the car I had before it. 1996 Mustang. Sort of like fast Red Cars lol. That Mustang was a beautiful car.
  20. Oh man that car is like it was on rails. I could not go anywhere without someone coming up to me and asking about it. Only car I have ever heard of that had shock absorbers in the body. They sent the bodies to Yamaha to have all the seams welded up instead of just spot welded to make them stiffer and stronger. The bodies were so stiff they had to put shocks in the body front and back horizontally to keep them from tearing apart. It had a bunch of crazy things like that in them. Lot of people raced them, and used them as drift cars also. Thing had 315-35-17 on the rear, 275's on the front. I got in a wreck. I ran Under a Semi Tractor Trailer with it. It happened at night. I had to crawl out the passenger window. After they fixed it, 13,000 Dollars later I sold it. Came close to dying. Took 2 wreckers to pull it out form under the trailer! Yeah that is my dumb ass behind the car lol.

Well when I was young anything wider than a 24mm was so full of distortion you could not use it. Not counting there was hardly and lens wider than that anyways to even buy but a fisheye or two that cost as much as a new car or more. So when I bought my 16-35mm Sony FE I was amazed how wide it shot and I was like a kid in the candy store. I don't think it moved off of 16mm for a month or more lol. They are a real eye opener.
  22. I just don't think they can get by with 10 bit on that small of body. And I have no clue why Sony keeps shitting around with the A7s mk III. Say I never did show you my car that I had for a couple of years I sold like 6 months ago. 1998 350Z Nizmo. One of like 1500 of them made in the whole world. Less than 900 left they think. Shot on my Sigma Merrill.
  23. Wow that will be amazing for that kind of money if it all works out. What a change that has occurred in the video industry in the last 5 years or so. It is like a dream come true, and it is only going to get better.
