I have heard a few good things about this Zacuto one. Never owned it though. I have a lot of Zacuto stuff. They make quality products if you can afford it. Oh Small Rig is the worse one I have! There was a guy making them years ago that was really good, but they were scary expensive. I don't think he is in business anymore. I have this Manfrotto one and at times it will hold an Elephant and at times not a 5" Monitor. I have taken it apart several times and "adjusted" it but it is inconsistent as hell. I use it for my iPad 9.6" as a Monitor at times. As big and heavy as it is you Could kill an Elephant with it. Useless at times, especially when you Need it to work. I even have the one with the Knob and it is really no better. And trust me I have the strength to damn near break the bolt off holding the knob LoL. I am thinking of just making a arm out of Rebar bent to shape! Even then you have the problem of keeping the damn thing tight in the 3/8th hole in the tripod also. What a mess. I have found the little ones are Too little, and the big ones are Too big! I have not found a Goldilocks one yet. And I have them from cheap to OH MY God expensive.Just make sure you get one with a Knob, not a Snap Lever. But the price doesn't seem to matter. I have found at times they all work, and at times the next time you use one it is total shit. I hate the damn things on average. But no other good solution so I cuss a lot.

Yeah that Hot-Pod is WAY out of my range even used LoL. Yes I like Vinten and Miller stuff. I think the cheaper Sachtler stuff is...well Lol. I am a big believer in Carbon Fiber Ones though.. Man they are really stiff, but good ones are heaver than you would think.

Whatever you buy buy it on Ebay, or something like it Used. You can get a real head or tripod for the same price as some crappy new anything. Who cares if it is nicked up, you can't kill a good head or sticks. Yeah they work for photography, but for a fluid head, if it is extended it twists just like the legs do and it is not pretty. Plus there is not enough surface area on top, and you can't get small adjustments like you can with a Bowl tripod. A Good video tripod, fluid head setup is more money than the camera costs. But you only have to buy one once in your life probably. Nothing worse than jerky footage.

Man I am Not a fan of Center Column tripods for video. Hmm.

I don't know, Cine to me has changed so much in the last 5 years. Other than really big productions with really skilled Glidecam operators most stuff was shot on tripods. Now there is a Lot of Gimbal shots, even just Raw Run n Gun. Motion seems to be in now. I don't see how having a Cine camera that does AF is a Bad thing. Sure Focus pullers are not going away tomorrow. But I think a lot of them might be looking for a different line of work down the road. There have been a lot of gains on face, eye tracking that can't be overlooked. it is only going to get better. I think people now can accept screw ups in films, goofy movement. Nearly everyone now has taken video on their own with Smartphones, Cameras and experienced crazy movement in their own footage and sort of thinks, hey I guess it is normal LoL. I mean it can't look like a drunken sailor, but..
