  1. Dangling the Carrot is sort of old school. You are coming off more as a salesman than beneficial. This is sort of like me saying I have the winning Lotto numbers, but I will tell you them after the game is over. Shit or get off the pot like my Grandfather used to say. Enough of the silly shit.
  2. Pretend you are a Teacher. They are always in demand. My daughter did that for 2 years in Australia, and they paid her way, helped her move, and a lot more benefits on housing etc.
  3. But, but.. https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/07/tech/apple-itunes-samsung-tvs/index.html
  4. Yeah but the Arri stuff actually uses 16 bit linear to capture and process images inside the camera, then spits it out @ 12bit. Little bit different than I think is 12 bit max in camera like the PK4 is. Arri has a lot more data to work with. logarithmic like you said.
  5. I am beginning to think there must be some kind of patents involved just like DPAF is?? I mean look at the PK4, why doesn't it have some kind of really decent AFC? I know it is a Cine camera but Canon has done pretty well using it in their Cine bodies. The days of crappy AF is somewhat in the past for video tech wise.
  6. Yeah V-Log is a good 15, 20 points lower on skin tones than Slog 2.
  7. I am not really too sure all these company's are holding back. I think there is a physical limitation heat wise on these Hybrid bodies, and 4K 60p 10bit or better just isn't going to happen unless it is in a Cine type body with a heat sink from hell, or a fan, or both. I think all these manufacturers have known about the 30 minute limit coming off in the EU. They can't put out cameras that only go 12 minutes or whatever without taking a Lot of Heat, pun intended. They are just going to have to face the music and say small bodies just are not going to be able to meet the future needs for video. The PK4 and the Z Cam E2 have proved it really can't be done in a goofy A6000 body size.
  8. Looks like it is pulling back contrast to be honest. Sort of the opposite of what I would expect in HDR.
  9. No they Use to do a thing or two right. That is the problem. The 5D mk III was the last FF camera they made that was a real effort. Class leading on the video side. They have lost most of the Pro C market now. They are just sliding down into the shitter as far as I am concerned. They have went from the best you can do mindset, to lets just push the shit out the door mindset. To me they are not the leader of anything anymore. Even the L lenses are mostly crap for the video side. EF-S lenses work better overall. They have become a 1990's company.
  10. Yeah but that is the problem Glenn. Just because it says Canon they will sell the hell out of it, you know that and I know that. It can be a total turd and it will crush anyone else in that bracket. Fuji might as well stop making anymore X-T3's LoL. They won't be able to give them away.
  11. Well they may surprise the heck out of us but that would surely throw the people under the bus on the EOS-R. I just don't see how they can bring a camera out that is 700 dollars less and it be worth buying. It's crazy. Now if it has a APSC sized sensor in it, sure that works, but..
  12. No doubt if you are in the Canon system it pays to stay there. And who doesn't like Canon CS. But man there comes a point of how many times can you get screwed and still like it. That is the point. There apparently is Never going to be an end to it. Jesus.
  13. No DCI 4K 4096 x 2160m, MP4 video format older than the hills, not 4K 60p, no 1080p high Slow Mo over 60p, crop from hell in 4K, GH5s has the same sized sensor in 4K, no IBIS, on and on. Oh, but it has a Lovely IQ. Yeah and it's worth 1695.00 bucks. Heck the M50 has a Lovely IQ. Its like 600 bucks. And what does the X-T3 cost? It is even less than this new one will be. Crazy.
  14. So Canon is taking the specs of the what most would agree was the weakest camera introduced last year for video and make it even weaker. I argue they should have just lowered the EOS-R to this price and called it a day.
  15. Yeah about as good as setting it all up and finding out your battery is dead with no extras. Been there, done that.
  16. If Andrew is right Canon Needs to go out of business. Why the hell did they even bring the EOS-R out? Boy they sure are a goofball company as of late. The whole board of directors must all be 90 years old or better. If you have bought a Canon 6D mk II or an EOS-R you have just been screwed if true.
  17. Well you ought to be able to get the job done with that whole setup. Well done.
  18. Yeah but that would not be the worse thing. You would have the Canon CS, all the lens availability, and a FF camera, etc. I mean the original 6D was, and still is a pretty decent camera. A lot of people even VLog with the MK II version. But seeing how you can still buy the Sony a7 for like 899 bucks or less new it seems like price gouging LoL.
  19. I am in the middle of the evaluation. The taste is a bit off, but I Think I feel a little smarter. I am hoping no side effects like twitching ears, hopping in random directions, etc.. It could be a breakthrough for an amazing cheap entry price. Might be a smart move, get it... What are you going to Do with them? Use them as crash cams, C cams?
  20. I find Rabbit turds work pretty well. Try some. I guess the veggy diet they are on help. Cheap also if you have connections. ?
  21. Yeah but a lens support will be just about as tall on the rods. When you use rods it is not going to be easy to just set it down.
  22. Oh my God. I am going to send you some smart pills. ?
  23. My Spyware program is not Really liking that first Link. ? And you would have to win the Lotto to buy those two lenses. But maybe he is rich.
  24. Well the definition of refraction. "What does a higher index of refraction mean? When light enters a material with higher refractive index, the angle of refraction will be smaller than the angle of incidence and the light will be refracted towards the normal of the surface. The higher the refractive index, the closer to the normal direction the light will travel." So that is as I see it what the Micro Lenses are doing. Like has been said that is an old tech. That is interesting to go back that way. But is that slide implying that both the S1 and the S1R are using the same tech? Parallel Processing, hmm that could mean a lot of different things? Now if it is on Sensor that would be really interesting.
  25. Oh it is the best thing since sex if you are pretty good at it. Just like in Photos. But for average scenes I doubt it is worth the effort for the average person. Most cameras in the past few years have gotten really pretty damn good with WB and with the rise in DR also it is becoming a lot easier to get it right, even on auto in camera. I meant look at Smartphones. They have become just about Dummy Proof. Video was I was young was a real ball buster to use. Even TV stations had a hard time hiring people smart enough on the tech side to even run the station. But back then almost all of it was vacuum tube based, even the cameras. And they drifted all over the place. I remember often the tech just coming over and hitting the equipment with his first and fixing a lot of problems LoL. We weren't Allowed to hit it ?. Now, that would be less of a problem. I am sure it is still complex, but I bet it screws up a lot less than it did then, just like new cameras are a lot more reliable from catastrophic results. I don't see using Raw much in my future. Too lazy, and can't afford the computer power, storage space to do it right. ? But if you can do all the above why not. It is what separates the men from the boys. The reason there is good footage and great footage. I truly believe most people ought to hone their editing, grading skills than worrying about new cameras. And editing, Grading skills really don't cost any, or very little money to improve. An old C100 or a BMCC shot and edited well would probably be as good if not better than the new ones..
