As I have said lately I would like to get back into Birding video wise, especially since I am moving back to Florida. But even discounting the money aspect of it, I don't see a lot of gains over the E-M1 mk II video wise, heck even photo wise to justify it. No wildlife holds still long enough for the Hi Res, at least very often, and the body doens't look any more larger than the E-M1 mk II with it's grip. Sure the new button layout would help, but unless you have money to spare I don't see it. Now the new lens, sure if it isn't a ton of money would be nice. And all the new AF modes look like a worse nightmare than the Canon 1d mk III I had. That would suck.

Well it has to take 8 shots so you can imagine if there is Any movement in that time frame it is going to blur it a bit. So yeah if it moves it is really not ideal to shoot it. I would imagine even if it doesn't move and you do it is not ideal either handheld.

Yeah I agree, Olympus needed to hit a home run here. It looks like they may have struck out more than hit one over the fence. They have had to put a lot of money in this R&D, tooling, production wise, money I doubt they have. If it would have been ground breaking, well yeah, but just a warmed over E-M1 mk II in a new skin with zero gain on the video side, when video is the hot thing going, why?

Hmm maybe there IS a reason the Osmo Pocket seems too expensive LoL https://***URL removed***/news/3940539803/dji-addresses-alleged-corruption-scandal-that-reportedly-increased-product-prices-by-20

Yeah but sad to say it still would be overpriced. It is really just a E-M1 mk II with a little bit better Hi Res and the ND thingy..

Yeah for the Olympus EM1 mk II and the Panasonic GH5 both company's helped each other out. Panny helped Oly on the video side, Oly helped Panny on the IBIS side. And now it looks like the marriage is over. Olympus declining the L mount move and now going it alone. Looks kind of grim down the road to be honest for Olympus, and even m4/3..

Well I can see some existing Olympus BiF, Wildlife people switching because they use longer lenses on average. And the Hi Res mode also. But that is very few people. Yeah I don't see hardly anyone switching from another brand to buy it either. Strange decisions.

Nikon Z6 / Z7 to go RAW with Atomos Ninja V - could Panasonic be next?
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Makes you wonder if Sony has been paying Red a royalty for years? Surely someone besides, and before Red has had a compressed Raw scheme? -
There are examples of the Hi Res in the video I posted above.

Amen brother.

This is not against Atomos, but Sony, but I bet it is along the same lines.. https://nofilmschool.com/2013/02/more-jim-jannard-red-lawsuit -
Yeah I feel the same way about the output. But if a person is into the new look, I'm not, it is a real bargain like you said. Thanks for the reply.

Tony Northrup review of the Olympus E-M1X. Pretty much the old E-M1 mk II video specs. 3000 bucks according to him. Hmm.

Is a6500 1080p footage Better When Recorded Externally?
webrunner5 replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
Well I found as a FF camera it seemed to be pretty good at Photos. An 11 x 18 print is no problem for one. -

Yes it does. And the A7s has a great 1080p. -
Panasonic's new AG-CX350 (4k 60p in 10bit up to 400Mbps HEVC)
webrunner5 replied to Mako Sports's topic in Cameras
Unless you Need 10 bit is this really a better camcorder than the price you can buy a used DVX200 for? Used they are close to half the price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Panasonic-4K-AG-DVX200-HandHeld-Professional-Video-Camera-A1-Condition-Low-Hours/113533741644?epid=25027759966&hash=item1a6f236a4c:g:o58AAOSw4ohcM983:rk:1:pf:0&LH_BIN=1 -
I think 32gb is more than enough to be honest.
-
Yeah I think that is the main thing, it is so easy for anyone to use, even young children. It could be a nice teaching tool for kids to learn video also. I am sure down the road the next version will be a bit more polished and then we will really have something nice, not counting you know they will bring out the 1" Hasselblad version.

Not good. See you should have kept that Osmo Pocket! ?

I thought you were talking about @Matt Kieley Video Glenn?

Yeah I know the feeling LoL. They are a magic camera.

LMAO.
