Yeah but toward the end at the mushroom part was really bad, and I find trying to hold a smartphone level for extended times is Really hard to do. But yeah over that looked pretty good. The phones are getting better. Well really Everything is getting better.
-
Well the EOS-R has to be a no brainer with matching your C200, 1DX mk II, and being able to use the same lenses. I think you did the right thing. Plus you are right, certain Canon products do seem magic at times. Just imagine if they didn't hold back.
-
Yeah if you can't trust the camera why even have it.
-
Yeah looks like you are right. I had the Crane 2 weight wrong. Looks like you need to sell all of it and just go with a Osmo Pocket LoL. ?
-
The Crane 2 weighs 3.4 pounds and the Ronin S weighs 4.1 pounds. Is a little more than half a pound going to kill you for the ability to use it weight wise easily? And the Crane 2 is even more expensive if it is still on sale. Don't know if it is yet?

A Shaky phone. If my smartphone had as good of stabilization I would never have even mentioned it on here LoL. That is what separates it from the pack to me. Well and the size, form factor also. My Apple XS is defiantly better at stabilization than my X was, but it still sucks walking, running, well I can't run but... ?
-
I wonder if you can even record both at the same time?
-
Looks normal to me.That is 6 stops different. Pretty much what your ND filter is at max I would suppose.
-
Well this can confirm your concerns. But I would never use it for Vlogs. So that might solve some of the focus problems for my use. Overall I just don't see what I could replace it with that is so compact and easy to use. And easy to just hand off to someone and easy for them to use. I think that might be the biggest plus for it. Your wife, Kids can just grab it and go. There are times you just want to have fun and not worry about stuff. Just turn it on and go.
-
Yeah but what doesn't have problems in that price range? I know my GoPros are not the best in the world. Good, but not great. And you want to go with a Canon GX7 mk II. Not so hot either AF wise. Even the Canon M50 is not too good in 4K without the DPAF function. There just isn't many cameras under 3000 dollars that have great AF, especially in video. Actually No camera is great other than the C series from Canon for video AF with the DPAF. Maybe the 1D mk II is? Well eye focus face detection is not too bad on Sony and the eye detection on the Nikon. Really some of the Smartphones are pretty damn good for video AF. I think they are using DPAF. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1&q=canon+g7xII+AF+issues

Boy you don't really hear much about the Sony a7r mk III, at least on here. Yeah Dave had it right. Sony more modern look, BM more Filmic look. No surprise. I really never gave much thought to the no EVF for me. Probably would not work, just like it doesn't for him.
-
BMD sure hasn't helped their cause with the roll out of the PK4 shipments wise. They done screwed up again! It could have been the camera of the year but it is still sort of Not shipping LoL.
-
Yeah but Panasonic I think screwed themselves by charging so much for the GH5, GH5s. You have the X-T3, Z6, a7 III same price or cheaper. Really the EOS-R Should have been 2,000 bucks. What they going to come out with a GH6 for less money? I don't see how they can. I think they have boxed themselves in. Hard sell selling m4/3 cameras for FF prices in this day and age. You can still buy the Sony a7 new for 798 bucks! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1008114-REG/sony_ilce7_b_a7_mirrorless_digital_camera.html

Interesting concept. I think you pulled it off very well. Proof that you don't need an expensive as heck camera to get the job done. I like it. ?
-
Well I am sure Sigma can reverse engineer the Sig Monster and other lenses like it. They have some darn nice long lenses. So Yeah the S1R may have a lead right out of the box over other contenders. But none of the Sigma big lenses I would call L class lenses. They are very good but not super great, at least some of the older ones I have owned. Maybe now they are better? I would have thought you would have bought the SD H model for what you do? Too big of files?? I sort of like the look of the DP2 Quattro more myself. I actually like the Merrills more, but they are lacking resolution in this day and age. I love Foveon cameras. I have had a lot of them.
-
Oh I don't doubt it is impressive. Leica stuff is that. But how good will the AF be. You going to shot wildlife, BIF, Sports with your Leica? Panasonic ain't exactly known for great AF. And if they keep that same thing they have now, which it sounds like they are with AI, it still is not going to beat phase detect or DPAF you know that. And they are not going to have 400mm, 600mm lenses out anytime soon. Sure it will help you out lens cost wise but. It's like this new Zeiss FF camera. How many do you think are going to buy it. There is only so many Dentists LoL. The FF arena is just becoming too damn crowded now for all of them to make a buck. Somebody is going to bite the dust hard.
-
I have no clue how Panasonic thinks they are going to compete with a Photo camera against Canon, Nikon. That sounds crazy. Photo stuff is all about super good AF and Tons of lens choices. And then you throw in Sony, nah weird path they are on.
-
They do look like something that would Be in a sub station no doubt LoL.
-
LMAO.
-
See how easy that was to resolve. I am not implying you are going to make a full blown feature film with a Pocket Osmo or my iPhone XS that looks like a Arri Alexa. It is that they can make good looking video for the average person that meets nearly all their requirements. Yeah 10 years ago camcorder footage sucked ass compared to film or a Sony F65. Not the gap is not so huge. With skill it is pretty damn small. Why won't you accept that. I look at footage nearly all day on YouTube. It is rare as hell on there to see Any footage that sucks, hell most of it is really not that bad. And 98% of it is taken with GoPros, Drones, Smatphones, Cheaper low end Canon DLSRs. I don't have a clue what you expect, perfection? AIn't the way the world works, sorry. Most people, including even me could give a shit whether it was shot on a cellphone or a Arri Alexa. It's the story, it's what I am interested in that day, or week. People and cameras now have gotten pretty damn good lately. Things have changed pretty big time.
-
Your crazy as hell. This is 2019 not 2009. You could not have dreamed 5 years ago what we have available today. What the hell does edit have to do with quality between cameras. You need help. The sun done got to your head. All that audio work has messed with the stuff between your ears. 10 years behind, you are funny as hell. I think you are the one that is 10 years behind.
-
Yeah you aren't going to have an average IQ of 100 give or take 5 points like the average people on here according to @fuzzynormal and figure out Fusion LoL. ?
-
Sure they are all different. They all have different Color Sciences, using different Codecs. But they all can do 4K, and if you grade them It would be hard to tell them apart if you grading them the same. 4K is 4K. And now even Smartphones have pretty decent DR. It's not like one of these cameras has 5, 6 stops better DR. It is down to 2 or 3 stops at most. DoF might be the only give away to be honest. Tons of big time movies now use Drones, GoPros, etc. and it is hard to tell what is what anymore. Sure it is for short takes, but the playing field has leveled pretty big time if you have grading skills.
-
It holds it own on the footage. Wow how things have changed.

Speaking about AI LoL. I saw on 60 minutes, a TV show here once a week, that the best known Chinese AI Engineer in China, Kai-Fu Lee, said in 15 to 20 years AI will displace 40% of the work force in the world! 40%. Yikes.
