Nikon Z6 / Z7 to go RAW with Atomos Ninja V - could Panasonic be next?
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
There isn't hardly anybody going to do pure Raw on here. You would have to win the Lotto to buy the Media, let alone the Storage. You are talking minutes, even seconds of video on a card, even a SSD is a joke on a long take. -
I saved you also. Your welcome. Ungrateful people, wow. And I told you I don't drink. Silly rabbit.

I guess a lot depends on what NLE you are going to use. Resolve uses a lot of GPU power so neither GPU in the i Mac's are super great. So you would probably have to go with an external GPU if you got serious about video editing in Resolve. I am sure it would work in FCPX. Apple doesn't seem to care much about GPU's I guess. ? https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+Pro+580&id=3933

As far as I know there is three types of stabilization for video capture; lens, in-camera, and electronic. Only the electronic one will crop.

Canon EOS R - Nikon Z6 - Canon C200... Color Matching
webrunner5 replied to DBounce's topic in Cameras
That is why I would prefer the GH5s over the PK4. I will concede that the PK4 has a better output, well probably a Lot better with the Raw and their CS, but if I am going to buy a small camera I want a small camera. I don't want a cage, and a battery, and a SSD, and on and on. I might as well have a C100, or a FS5, or my AF100 back. And no I don't want to carry 5 batteries in my pocket. I did that with my A7s. It sucks to always be out of power at the wrong time, or half way through, or walking around looking like you need to sneak behind a tree to address the problem with the bulge in your pocket! But sure you ought to just stay with the EOS-R since it will match your 1D mk II. and C200 Color Science wise, and be able to use the same lenses. Seems like a no brainer other than that damn crop thingy. Too bad it was not at least a s35 crop. But for 1080p no problem. None of these, well no camera is perfect so I would go with the one that at least fits in the best. -
Canon EOS R - Nikon Z6 - Canon C200... Color Matching
webrunner5 replied to DBounce's topic in Cameras
Well no surprise the C200 looks the best, I think followed by the EOS-R. But none are just hands down better. So proves the playing field has leveled out this year more than anytime. So you can be pretty happy with any, and I would imagine if you still had the X-T3 it might have embarrassed a few of the cameras. Now with this ProRes Raw coming out if they all sort of jump on board it could be on paper more even. -
Yeah but B&H just flats shuts down on Jewish Holidays and the Sabath. So Nothing gets done at all at a hot time of the year for orders, returns for periods of time..

I am not going to deny that. It is just not a camera I want to buy. Simple as that. I don't like Any of the new cameras looks wise.

Well show me YOUR f ing footage if it is so great! Talk is cheap. And I never said you can't get great footage out of the PK4. I just said it is not going to look like the old BM stuff, and it doesn't, and really can't unless you burst your ass trying to do it. I have said the new look is in and it is not going away like it or not. You must have a reading deficiency if you haven't taken that away from my comments for months on here. Mercer and I am about the Only 2 people on here that seem to give a crap about the old look. And there is nothing wrong with that. If you want the new look it is out there in spades. Nearly every camera new now has that look. And the PK4 has the new look, no surprise with the sensor it is using..

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
webrunner5 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
N Log is not as an aggressive log a slog 2 is. So there would be a bigger gap on the Nikon I would think. But a person is going to have to be more skilled to edit Raw no doubt. -

Being Raw the big gain ought to be a at least a stop more DR. Not counting a higher bit rate for editing. And no baked in anything.. That is 3 pretty big pluses, among others. -

Nah, no hero, just did my job. Just like lots of others did. Helped Make it a safer world so you could be on here. ? Oh I would not go that far LoL. I Never stated that! They are fine upstanding ,God fearing people. It is just to me they just take stuff way too serious. Is that a fault? Probably not. Canada is a well oiled machine. They have a lot to be proud about. Everyplace is special in the world to the people that live there. Or they would not live there LoL. There are a Lot of breathtaking, beautiful places in the world I have seen.

Oh I actually like Greece also. Lot of history, beautiful Islands. And Gyro's

I have been all over Europe. Other than Naples, Italy, pass. Oh and I have done all those things you mentioned. Thanks. No I actually did most of my traveling overseas with a company I worked for. And I went to a lot of places with my wife for Archeological digs in a lot off the beaten path countries.

No I have lived long enough, and have met literary thousands and thousands of people in my life. Traveled all over the world except the Far far east, been in 2 wars, seen lots of people die, so I have a good view of what people, and peoples are like. So What I have seen from our Northern friends is a complete difference from the people in the USA, good or bad. So that has been my observations. You don't have to like them or me. No big deal. I am stating what I have seen through my travels. You want to to lie about it? Yeah the United States is full of a lot of Cowboys, risk takers, outspoken people, move or get the heck out of the way people. Not content with the old boy club stuff. Traditions, nah that is old school. The US is a fast paced moving forward environment. Ever changing. And opportunity to become a millionaire no matter who you are if you want, to be anything you want. I just seen yesterday the average American lives in 11 houses in their life. That is how many I have lived in, and am moving again. Mobile, that is what this country is, not the same old stuff, but new challenges, new opportunities. No place like it in the world. I would not live anyplace else. I would feel restricted, everyone the same way like a lot of countries I have visited elsewhere. There is more diversity in this country than anyplace on earth. And that is what makes it interesting and exciting to live in. The diversity of it's people and landscapes, climates, on and on..

Very few people ever have a job they really like. It is pretty much about the money if you have a family to support. Pretty much any job gets boring after awhile. Might as well just pick one that you make a lot of money and go do stuff you enjoy that year on your off time.

Ah I see now. I can see the resemblance.

No they don't.

I used to fish every year in the Saint Mary's river by Saute Saint Marie. So I have had a lot of contact with people from Canada. They were the same way then also.
