To follow on from my last post, I'd be more than happy to get Fuji if it could do all the above. It does have a very pleasing look. To my eyes Fuji, Canon and even Olympus have special looks that are just attractive to my eye.

Can't agree with you. The GH5 is the only 'photo' camera, mirrorless or otherwise, that can be used almost as if it were a real video camera. It's the versatility and reliability of the GH5 which makes it shine. I have shot whole day conferences on a a pair of GH5 camera. We are talking 2 cameras running 1 and half to 2 hours non-stop filming 4K, one with the sound from the sound desk running into the XLR unit, all on dual card slots. A quick change of cards between speakers or at breaks and it'll do another 2 hours with no complaints. No other "photo" camera can do that. I even use a GX85 as a B or C cam in wedding ceremonies. 40 mins of 4K non-stop, no over heating, lightweight, cheap...so flexible. I can stick on a Voigtlander and get more 'cinematic' shots, shot in 10 bit if I need it, 4K 50p, slomo...I can even take decent photos (I'm video centric)! It's not perfect but it offers a better overall package than almost any other camera on the market at present. I do agree that with the latest releases from it's competitors being competitively priced it is slightly expensive. I think a new GH5 shouldn't cost more than 1500€ and the GH5s 1800€. I see m43 becoming evermore video centric with the ability to shoot great photos. If they can produce a GH6 and GH6s, both for the prices I mentioned, with the same sensor as the GH5s (one with IBIS and one without), improve autofocus and have the ability to check focus once filming then will have created perfect small and flexible 'video' cameras that shoot photo.

I have Neat but I prefer to avoid using it if posible. I try to get everything right in camera so I don't have to waste time in the edit suite.

I have the Gh5 and the same lens set up but over here a lot of venues are dark and there is no way you can light without pissing people off! Most weddings are in the evening and at night time as it's too hot during the day in summer.

How do you find the changed settings handle lower light situations and interiors? I have found that messing quite a bit with the settings can make it quite noisy. I tried White in revery's settings and the colours look very nice but once you hit 800iso it falls apart quickly whilst Portrait, Nature, Cine D etc with minor adjustments seem to hold up quite well up to 1600 and even 3200iso.

Nice. Are you using Portrait setting?

Sigma 18-35mm 1.8. I use it all the time.

Following on from the m43 10-25 1.7 announcement could you ask if they have plans for a 35-100 1.7 (or equivalent). I'd maybe consider them over my Sigmas and Speedbooster.

Bummer. Anyway, if the colours and 4k have a similar look and feel (FF vs m43/Speedboster besides) then it still could work as a properly integrated system.

This camera sounds pretty interesting. What would be great is if the new lens system could be adapted to the m43 line through a Panasonic speedbooster with and integrated ND(no idea if that's possible). I think if Panasonic could really integrate the FF, m43 and EVA1 as far as colours, VLOG recording codecs etc are concerned they'd really dominate the market. Back when I was using the Canon C100 as my main camera I was always frustrated that I couldn't find a good B cam with in the Canon range. I tried the 7D, 700D, 5d mk... and they all looked poor next to the C100 footage. The XC10 just wasn't up to it in lowlight situations. So a FF Panasonic paired with the GH5s/GH5 sounds very interesting. Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about!!!?

I'm interested to know what the FF Panasonic will offer and how practical it will be. I have a GH5 (also a Canon C100 among other cameras) and as someone who 95% of the time is shooting video I think the GH5 is great and I'd need something really special right now to leave it. As a cheapish video camera it is great. I have shot whole day confrences with the GH5 as a main static camera plugged into the mic desk (xlr unit is great) and a GX85 handheld doing cutaways. Light, efficient, reliable...great. I have a client here who works with football players in La Liga. He was used to people who turned up with a Canon DSLR or a Sony and would hand in wobbly Making Of fashion shoot videos and static interviews. Now I know it's not all down to the cameras but the Panasonics were a big part in being able to win over the client. Run n gun video done with little fuss, very discrete. Interviews with one camera that gives us reframing options, good sound and no cuts....my client likes that! I'll be trying a GH5S this weekend to see how well it complements the GH5. They are great video cameras (not perfect) that can take good photos. If you need and all terrain video centric mirrorless then I can't see past them at the moment. In saying that, bring on the innovation!

I still use the GX85 as a B or C cam with the GH5. I bought from Hong Kong and it has no recording limit. It keeps going until the card or battery run out. I also bought a dummy battery with a DC connector. Very cheap, small but quality 4K cam. One of my best buys ever even if the sound is rubbish. If sound is important get one of the 2 Sennheiser kits with the mic and recorder and just sync up.

Not sure if it's my best work but it's my favourite. A small room, a builder's light (kind of light bulb with a hook) and 20€ plastic cctv lens and the GX85. I think it captures the group well...intense.

I have the older version of the SLR 12mm T1.6 which I bought second hand. I think it has been worth the money although it has a slightly different colour than my Voigtlanders. It's small, light and quite fast.

Good to hear! I'm guessing Sandisk Extreme pro 95mb sdxc v30 cards are fine?

Anyone using 200mbps all-i 422 HD with GH5? I have used the GH5 with 4K for over a year (corporate, video clips, weddings, etc) but I always deliver HD. I saw a couple of videos using the new 200mbps all-i 422 HD. Some look very good but I have noticed moiré some HD footage (could just be the horrible jacket someone wore at an event). Is anyone using it? What are your results like? I really like the idea of 422 50p and the in camera zoom/crop effect (whatever it's called) in HD is even more powerful than in 4K.

Very nice. Do you have other SLR Magic lenses? How do they perform? I have the older 12mm T1.6. How did you get the Canonish look out of the GH5? Thanks!

The Mitakons lack wider options 17, 12, 10mm. The SLR Magics wider lenses are not so fast. 17mm T1.6, 12mm T1.6 and 10mm T2.1. Voigtlander is the only brand with a range of lenses that are really fast across the whole range. All are 0.95. But they are very expensive and to buy all 4 here in Spain you are talking about 4000€!!!

Jon, I don't want to argue with you or anyone but I think you need to be aware that sometimes the tone of your posts come across as rude and condescending. I realise that's probably not your intention but maybe worth reflecting on.

Jon, I didn't realise down voting was that important. I did it because you are not offering any kind of help or solution, although your first comment was useful.

The C100 hasn't got the sharpest LCD and the angles are limited. I'm considering selling the C100 mk1 and getting the C100mk2 because of the flexible LCD and useable EVF.

jon, when you are working for 12 hours lugging around equipment, shooting handheld at times, believe me, that weight and size is a large drawback. Not everyone has the luxury of filming like you do. I wish it were so but it's not that way.

I'm talking about putting the monitor on the GH5. That would make the camera quite a bit heavier and unwieldy and getting to C100 territory, thus rendering one of it's pros into a con.
