    8 vs 10 bit

What cameras would be good to search on YT for good baked in looks with some flexibility in look without having to grade log?
  2. This camera doesn't seem to be marketed toward folks using extensive color correction or 30-45 minute runtimes for single clips. Most content creators on YT, etc., probably record 30s to 5 minutes on most clips.
  3. To what degree are folks creating travel videos, vlogs, and YT content filming for greater than 30-45 minutes at a single clip? I'd imagine that is very small segment and within that segment they do it sparingly.
  4. So overall, is seems the reception here is luke warm at best. Fx30 offers better video for less, A7iv offers better hybrid for around the same. Yet some feel this will sell a bunch. What am i missing?

Curious about this. Prefer baked in LUT or SOOC with minor in camera. For example if you had an a7C could you adjust magenta in video in camera and get a more “canon” look ? For runs and gun and doc stuff - wondering if a7C is better than fx30 if not doing heavy grading and taking some pics

To what degree does this matter for you? To bring focus to the questions let’s consider 3 scenarios: 1. you’re shooting weddings, events, and documentaries output YouTube and other mediums clients want 2. you’re shooting narrative filming mostly and some event work as in 1 output YouTube and other mediums clients want 3. you’re shooting for personal use, run and gun personal docs, narratives, sports, travel. Output: YouTube
  9. Are there sub $5k cameras in the market today that present similar images?

Correct - just brainstorming - get at least 1 lens that’s full frame for your apsc camera for future when or if you get a full frame then you already have glass.
  11. Makes sense! Just trying to see if there is a downside of it. I may call to see details. 0% seems like a no brainer. Could make acquiring an fx3 a better deal than outright purchase of fx30

Yea makes sense. Looking at the history and trajectory it seems that Sony is the better investment. Maybe an APSC zoom and full frame prime for low light
  13. Has anyone done this? Curious details. Could be a good way to budget for an fx3/6

Who would you see an fx30 for versus an S5II? What are the customers that each are best suited for?

    Fuji X-H2S

Naive question, because I too like the nostalgia Fuji provides internally, but with cameras like s5ii and others providing internally baked LUTs - doesn’t that mean you could get equal or better creative looks with minimal post processing ?

Really appreciate it. I value your input. I’m not a pro. I’m using for personal use but an analytical person into many different areas. Love reading through the board. I pose questions I’m curious about because I don’t know the answer and enjoy reading the banter between members. I’ve learned so much. I’ve made videos for students and athletes I work with etc and they enjoy it. The quality has improved from reading here. We all need community hence why we join forums etc. that said, a lot of good comments here, aside from the snark, and appreciated ! The fx30 sounds like a great a cam for folks like me who do run and gun with no formal lighting, may not be a lowlight monster, or a b cam for studio work or a bigger crew. S5II and xh2s seem like worthy competitors. The BMPCC stuff doesn’t seem geared to single shooters when the aforementioned cameras exist.

You repeat the same passive aggressive lines and I respond with the same refrain: this is a forum, im trying to have a conversation about a topic that interests me. I’m not always buying cameras but enjoy the process and chatting about it. Do not respond or read these posts 🙂

What about when you’re comparing DR, color, log profiles?

How would you wade through deciding on that many cameras?
