Yes , fair points. But filming not narrative stuff I’m not concerned about makeup 😆. that said, I saw Dehancer has a plugin for FCP and that may do the trick and make camera brand less of an issues so long as a baseline DR is present and AF is good enough
-
Very detailed and cool to be honest. That said I have zero clue how this relates to anything I asked I’m beyond lost in the weeds here man. im just curious about skintones SOOC and how they’re achieved easily. No clue what makeup has to do with anything for the situation I asked.
-
Agreed between them and canon for me. How do you deal with AF issues on Fuji? This is exactly my point. What SOOC or fastest post workflow brand do you like ?
-
For some posts and comments I notice many respond not to the original post or thread but their own concerns or issues. I’m not sure how to course correct this.
-
No, sorry for confusing - I’m making the statement that even if one tries to match a color profile - cameras will retain differences that affect how pleasing we find it and therefore I was curious, with that given, your view on the original questions. thanks for clarifying confusion
-
What does that have to do with the original questions?
-
If the goal is to match many cameras yes - I was commenting that even if you matched color to your best ability the images will still look different and some will prefer skin tones and the overall look differently.
-
Sure, even still there seems to be differences between cameras even when trying to match color

Clog2 could be huge for this line. https://www.techradar.com/cameras/mirrorless-cameras/the-canon-eos-r5-mark-ii-and-eos-r1-just-edged-closer-to-launch
-
Is it fair to say some cameras produce normative or more pleasing color to most but if using log, you can get similar color/image from most cameras equally? 1. if you wanted a personal camera with fast turn around what brands are you usually happy with color wise? 2. when deciding for more professional or bigger projects, how do you decide what system/log system to get? seems canon and then Fuji reign when SOOC is discussed and it’s more nuanced for the latter.

This too, looks pleasing to my eye but curious if you guys with better trained eyes and knowledge see an image degradation compared to fx3:

I find this video to be movie like and curious if you can see the inferior DR and image to the fx3? I’m a layperson so curious for those with more knowledge https://youtu.be/4qv3bdX6Hv8?si=O0ZDihKX188lUC2h

If you’re struggling to comprehend DR I’m hopeless! 😂 so it seems I’ll rely on some other metrics as I’ll be baking images in with LUT in camera and not pushing in post. That may open up options for me as to what body I can use. Portability and compact is a prime start for me.
-
Sarcasm?
-
That’s good to know then if the fx3 sensor looks better with less work than fx30. That said ZVE1 just dropped to $1898 in US on BH
-
Do you consider it bad if someone wants to bake a LUT to avoid grading and post processing?
-
Insightful posts and ideas. I just think if you look at the videos you’ll see a pattern that’s much simpler - the sensor for fx30 and a6700 appears to be darker or have a less pleasing look compared to FF. But it could also be the glass etc. seems easier to achieve a desirable look on a7iv/fx3 sensor than fx30/a6700.

Interesting. Thanks for this view! Is it possible that at the same ISO, we’d see this color or DR difference? Meaning the creators are using ISO as the equalizer rather than exposure x/y axis?
-
Cool points but those screenshots and videos are comparing the images with same settings at the same time. There’s distinguishable differences and I find it interesting.
-
I’ve seen this in a few videos, but when compared - the fx30 sensor seems dark, less DR? Maybe, like a washout look. Any thoughts? video 1: video 2:

Great ideas folks! 1. what’s the best way to stress test? 2. Favorite outlets that are reputable ? 3. Are 3rd party warranties worth it?
-
Posted a thread recently about APS-C, but curious what are good f4, or thereabout, zooms. I think 35/40 is a good small option for FF but a standard zoom for travel/sports that would be reasonably priced used?

Good advice, i'll check MPB and KEH - that said i just worry that the units being sold may be more prone to overheating than a new unit. Type that out sounds potentially ridiculous just a fear.
