Did you have a ML hacked EOS-M ? They do them in that mount and they are really cheap. I got the 25mm f1.8 for it.

Fucking hell. Alright Kreskin, there won't be a mystery additional guest 50mm then

Right, I'll fire the SL up and do it over the weekend. There will be an additional mystery guest 50mm as well.

Right, I've done this setup picture now so we will be having this test whether you want it or not One of these lenses should absolutely cane the other three but we shall see.

This sounds like a job for the granite worktop and colourful bottles of booze to me. I have a "couple" of 50mm lenses.

I kept thinking "He'll start showing some images from these ten different lenses in a minute..." It is a 19 minutes and 46 second video about lenses and there is roughly one minute of actual images shot with them. What he had was ten lenses he was comparing and yet 95% of of we saw on the screen was shot with the eleventh one
  7. I think there are probably quite a few examples of the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 it in the Lenses thread. I have it in Sigma SA mount and shared some images from it there recently. (click the diagonal arrow to go to the specific post) Its a good value all rounder and the IS will certainly come in useful for you with the G7. Another similar one to have a look at is the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 as well.
  8. Tom is the constant in a turbulent world. No matter what personal or national or worldwide setback befalls us, we know that the sun will still rise tomorrow and Tom Peter will still be linking to mediocre listings on eBay. He's the touchstone we all need.
  9. I have to say that I'm pretty intrigued about the purpose behind you taking an A6500 apart !
  10. Well its difficult to say anything definitive about noise and signal loss really as I can't A/B them against anything as these are the only ones I have and the Pocket4K is the only piece of equipment I have that has mini XLR inputs. Yes, have tried with phantom powered and dynamic mic.
  11. Whatever happened to you trying to get a cable from Tilta ? The Fuji remote does not require any power as it gets it from the camera. I think the easiest approach for you to do is to buy one of these cheap £10.99 RR100 compatible remotes from Amazon Then crack open the handle part and take it from there as at least you will then have a fully working example to work from. https://www.amazon.co.uk/JJC-Shutter-Release-Fujifilm-Replaces/dp/B07K9VLFN2 If you want to be a bit more fancy then they do a wireless version for £21.50 that you could do the same thing with. This may well be more appropriate as you can have the handle anywhere then without running cables. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Shutter-Release-Fujifilm-Replaces/dp/B07N5J6LZM
  12. Finally got around to buying and testing these mini-XLR adapters. They are the official Blackmagic ones that they sell for the VideoAssist but obviously work fine with the Pocket4K as well. Decent build quality, very practical length of 40cm and they come in a pack of 2 for £30 so a good value as well. More to the point they are actually available, as mini-XLR to XLR is generally still a tricky cable to track down. https://cvp.com/product/blackmagic_bmd-hyperdaxlrmini2
  13. It is not necessarily at Nikon's end of the HDMI cable. Atomos had a lawsuit with RED (which coincidentally, or not, was filed within weeks of Atomos announcing ProRes RAW recording) that was settled with them having to license RED's IP. Whether this license has created additional hurdles/costs is one potential reason for the delay as it is in the Atomos end (ie the recording of a compressed RAW signal) where any infringement would occur. Having said that, its also worth remembering I suppose that this will be the first camera that can record ProResRAW over HDMI rather than SDI so the delay could also be caused by the good old fashioned more prosaic reason of it needing a bit more work than was imagined Mind you, based on my personal experience of buying RED products in the past, that is so much a part of their brand DNA that it wouldn't surprise me if they'd patented that as well !
  14. I mentioned the other week that Atomos are also way overdue with the NDI and Timecode modules for the Ninja V so the issues may be at that end as well if Atomos' attention is on getting those out. My side bet is still on there being some licensing issues with you know who.
  15. Those are actually the spare ones That particular lens is a bit of a heavy breather which makes it look a bit off particularly in snap mode but the sensor needs a bit more tuning too. More samples in a few days and a bit more of an insight into how the other non-ToF aspects of the focus controller work.
  16. I've lost track of all the simultaneous conversations about this G7 to be honest so was answering the right question in the wrong thread or the wrong question in the right thread.

    G7 in 2019

Sorry, yes, I can't keep track with their names (or the sheer number of different conversations in different threads about the G7 if I'm being honest) but, yes, for 1" its the TZ100. Although the TZ80 can be hacked as well.
  18. Bear in mind that the LX100 doesn't have Cinelike D so you will have to use the regular profiles on both if you want to match to your G7. The fixed screen may or may not bother you as well. Its a great camera and at the price they go for its a complete bargain but make sure you are comfortable with using a different profile on both before you commit. If you are set on the LX100 then it will be worth checking out @Andrew Reid's Pro Color for Panasonic as this would provide a route to a common profile between the G7 and LX100.

    G7 in 2019

I was trying it in a shop when they thew me out but anecdotally from people who own them I think its a no. The cheap travel versions of the 1" cameras like the definitely TZ80 can be though. I remember posting on here that if anyone bought the demo TZ80 at Stansted airport electronics shop then it had already been pre-hacked for you by me and stored in the C3 setting
  20. Absolutely. Three different flavours in one multi-pack. They are spoiling us.
  21. Another quick and dirty demo just so you know that I'm not sat on my arse not getting on with it. This is brought to you via the medium of a family pack of Golden Wonder crisps and a microwave to illustrate fast snap between points and also continuous refocus as the king of low cost potato snacks approaches and retreats. It is using an Olympus 17mm f1.8 lens wide open. There is no ramping set but as with the 3C app this will be an adjustable parameter. NB. I was not preparing to put the Leica and those pickles in the microwave. TOF_31_7.m4v
  22. Its around 15-20ms for the whole trip.
  23. Trust me, its the hundred and first project that you don't know about that will really blow your mind. Meanwhile, unfinished symphony number 49 has had a bit of an upgrade since it was first unveiled last week. Sensor is now integrated into a separate unit that sends the measured distance wirelessly over BLE to the main focus controller which then processes it and sends it on to the camera. And also has a measurement display which will come in useful at a later date........

    Sony rx10 DOF

If you are interested in that type of 1" sensor camera as a B camera to your G7 then you might be better considering the Panasonic FZ1000 as they both have Cinelike D so will be easier to match. Same battery as well. They are also generally a bit cheaper than the RX10 too.
