  1. Well there was but you had to have the brightness set to 11 to do it!
  2. If its manual F mount lenses then the best play is F to Leica M adapter, TechArt Pro M to E and then the TechArt E to Z as that way those manual focus F mount lenses magically become auto focus ones.
  3. B for the dog and L for the lake for me. Just as an aide-mémoire when reading everyone else's choices I've made these
  4. Well I was only kidding but to be fair the reality is that it is similarly niche. I've bought gazillions of cakes in my life but only one wedding cake. So in the overall world of cake, the wedding ones represent a tiny slice of the......nope, I can't do it.
  5. I like finding shortcuts.... So to my mind the shortcut here then would be analogous to a traditional TV channel where you find someone with a monetised account to host your content in their channel for them taking a cut of the ad revenue? Solves the problem of you getting your content out there @kaylee and earning from the get go without your own audience and solves the problem of the channel owner not being prolific enough in terms of content to maintain his place in whatever arbitrary algorithm reshuffle they do next. It can't be that simple can it?
  6. Without that video he made about it on his channel, I wouldn't have known about the $200 USB rechargeable precision screwdriver. And without the comments section of that video, I would never have known about the £35 identical version I bought from Amazon last week!
  7. I worked with the Soundfield company itself when it changed hands from AMS/Calrec about 25 years ago so I sold/demoed/rented quite a few ST350 systems to broadcasters and studios. The H3VR is not quite at that level In fairness though, it only costs about the same as the flight case did for those so its punching well above its weight. For what it is as at this sort of level I think its actually pretty good to be honest. Its not going to fulfill a fantasy of being a magic bullet for a "record all/point later" device for primary audio but as a simple way for recording general ambience in a surround format to supplement it then it has a lot going for it for me.
  8. It offers great additional functionality, particularly the timecode element of it with v2.0, but yeah its annoying it isn't inbuilt and the price comparative to the unit itself is also a bit harsh. I can't find one locally either so I've got to order one from Germany which won't make it any cheaper !
  9. My entirely subjective content suggestion @kaylee is that dog videos do well and tiny home/van living ones do well so.... Big Dog In A Tiny House would be a fusion that I'd watch religiously
  10. Its a complete long shot but the Aputure EF to E electronic ND would be very interesting but I don't know anyone who's actually got one.
  11. Considering I don't own a Z camera to put it on, I'm really excited about this adapter ! If you confirm that it works when you stack the original E to M AF adapter on it then I might finally cave in and join the Z gang.
  12. Just curious as to whether anyone actually downloaded the Zoom Ambisonics Player and had a play with the B-Format files, particularly anyone who has their computer attached to a 5.1 system ?
  13. For the Pocket4K, I know of a device that uses a wheel to manually control the speed of the pull between two marked points on electronic lenses. My main takeaway from the video is how insanely priced the ultrasonic "AF" systems for the cinema cameras are.
  14. HDV 1080 was about 25Mbit/s. Cameras like the Canon HV20/30 would still be relatively interesting as a really bargain basement option if they included one of the 35mm adapters with them. CCD mojo That Fisher Price camera that I posted above above actually records to cassette. As in audio cassette. So its less a case of a bit rate and more a case of a bit shit.
  15. I was pondering getting one of these to deliberately finish last with and spite the winner ! But I then discovered that, shockingly, the money they change hands for wouldn't actually fit in the budget. Must be because they are CCD and not CMOS so ergo must have more mojo .

Yeah I need to not cheap out and buy that one. Minimum focus distance on the 28mm with the one I've got is about 2 nautical miles.

Which adapter do you have for MFT?

I'm waiting on a couple more parts to arrive next week but I've picked one of these cheap RC transmitters up as a starting point. You can connect the receiver to the Micro and assign controls to each channel of it so a full turn of the wheel will take the focus from near to far etc. This one has 3 channels (the wheel, the trigger and a switch) so probably looking at focus, aperture and record but I'll need to modify it to remove the springs so that the wheel and trigger don't return to the central point when you let go. Its more or less the same size as those cheap LANC handles so is size appropriate and will be quite neat to have a wireless control handle.

Thanks. They're just jpegs off the SL as I only used the lens for about an hour after I got it before resuming holiday mode so today has been the first chance I've had to look at what I did with it so I was just pushing them to make a LUT with for when I do some video with it. I want to use it on the Pocket4K (or my newly acquired Micro ) but I don't know whether its just me but I don't seem to be getting much joy with M mount lenses on MFT. I picked up a dirt cheap A7Rii a few days previously to use with the TechArt to have a poor man's AF high res Leica M but only got chance to have this quick go with the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1, which I love on the SL, but the jury is out with it on the Sony although, again, I'm just pushing jpegs about so need to have closer look when I get more time.

A couple more from the 7Artisans 28mm f1.4 that I got the other week.
  21. Oh that it were. Oh that it were. And Brabham want to fit a fuck off big hoover on the back
  22. I was struggling to think of what to shoot but I'm definitely going to use that title now to make a James Bond film where he goes after a deep state conspiracy to rig elections.
  23. Sounds about right. Only from the date that the rules have been finally thrashed out though. So...end of December it is then.
