It's funny you should say that.... I saw this in a shop at the weekend and you immediately came to mind ! It's a bit of a jack of all trades as its a monopod and also has three leg base but these are weighted so that its actually very stable as a tripod substitute. However, they also fold up not only for shorter storage but also act as a counter balance for its other trick which as you can see by the handle is to transform it into a steadicam. The monopod itself is carbon fibre which obviously makes it lighter in the bag but heavier on the wallet and there are a couple of versions of it for different camera loads. I think the price is a bit steep but this was in MediaMarkt which isn't exactly bargain world for a lot of things. I had a quick Google and the aluminium versions of the smaller one as well as different manufacturers of it are a lot cheaper online. Obviously, I couldn't try it out in the shop so have a scout on YouTube etc for reviews but it seems like it could be a useful product. Unless it's shit of course

If you're looking for a cheap alternative to the Peli 1510 case, then these are actually pretty decent for a quarter of the price. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/329-US-PRO-Waterproof-Wheeled-Rolling-Travel-Equipment-Tool-Box-Hard-Case-Foam/162057203114?hash=item25bb5cadaa:g:APUAAOSwLs5XKx2R These padded dividers are really useful for transforming any rucksack into a camera bag and for general storage and faster packing of real camera bags. I have a load of them and organise gear into logical sets (speedlites with triggers in one pack, mics and recorders in another one etc etc) so I can pack bags quickly for different jobs. http://amzn.eu/d/0OlQsE5

Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p
BTM_Pix replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
In this case I think any magic (such as it is) happens in the adapter though and happens before the camera so there shouldn't be any difference between the two bodies. But yeah, famous last words and all that EDIT>> This fella on DPReview has given us confirmation that at least one AI-S lens works ! -
Everyone clearly jonesing for new camera announcements after the rush of the Photokina onslaught then? As in one of the best ever songs about feeding an addiction, what you are all definitely waiting for is your man ! * Obviously not the original Velvet Underground version but used this one as it features The Angry Photographer on guitar

The Z7 does so the presumption as its a function of the adapter rather than the camera would be that the Z6 would too. Ken Rockwell has a handy guide here https://kenrockwell.com/nikon/mirrorless/lenses/ftz.htm -
I think like a lot of gentlemen of a certain age, I have an attachment to 50mm as its what we all had as our standard lenses when we got our first SLRs and used them to shoot dinosaurs roaming in the local park. I'm sure Google has a way of generating EXIF from any image so when they tire of snooping on us electronically and invent a way of physically sifting through our cupboards and drawers undetected they'll scan all those negs and slides from latter part of the 20th century and we'll find that about 75% of pictures were taken on a 50mm. I never really bought into the 50mm being closest to what the eye sees - or at least concentrates on for want of a better expression - but its not totally far off. I suspect its probably even less so now though for people who have grown up looking at the world through a 28mm equivalent on their iPhones as they have developed a wider (yet simultaneously narrower ) viewpoint of what is standard. Anyway, a couple more from the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1 at narrower apertures to balance out the previous glowfest examples of shooting it wide open.

Speaking of daft 50mm lenses..... More M mount shenanigans, this time with the 7Artisans 50mm f1.1 Shot wide open on full frame, the depth of field is shallower than an ant's paddling pool.

XLRs, variable ND, bringing out some key functionality onto switches to mimic camcorder ergonomics (switchable ISO and White Balance for example), a handgrip with thumbstick control of aperture, rec start and clear image zoom, power pack for longer run time and cooler running. And some other bits....... All contained in an outer case to make it look integrated. I will incorporate a special anti RS function which will shut the camera down if someone attempts to do a whip pan of a moving train.

I think even at retail prices of addons the X-T3 is less than £1500 worth of additions from being a very capable cinema camera base, so Fuji should be able to bring it in as an integrated product for well under £3K. They won't though, just to spite us

Hire lights, an editor and a colourist ?

I was discussing with @Andrew Reid at the show the other day about someone making an s35 camcorder and how I thought Fuji would be ideal basing it around the X-T3. But I've been subsequently been thinking about having an attempt at cinevising something like the A6500. And when I say something like the A6500, I actually mean my A6500 I think it's a capable and compact enough building block to make something pretty interesting with. God knows I'll have to do something with it because I can't stand it as it is !

RED were trailing what they were calling a "3K for 3K" camera but ditched it. They seem to now be ploughing the "3D for another 3 months late" furrow with their phone instead. They should do a Cinecorder for us
-
That's more or less how Jannard came to start RED. But it escalated!

Haha I'd go on that forum and say "Yeah, that's my one but funnily enough I'm off on holiday for a month so won't be able to even get it out of the box til I get back" and watch them all lose their shit
-
Which must have been the one that @Snowfun got.

Wow. Now you've got TWO phones they haven't delivered on time

Sorry, Yeah, was just going off current £2.5K for the Sony and £3.5K for the Leica. God knows what the UK price will be post Brexit when it's probably launched. Probably cost 500 pairs of Levis, 10 sacks of potatoes and 25 LPs of music from Western bands. I definitely think that both that Panasonic and the Samsung whose name escapes me with the zoom lens would have found the world had come round to meet them if they did new versions.
-
Let the upcoming interchangeable L mount version speculation commence
-
If they pitch it midway between the RX1Rii and the Leica Q then it will be £3K. If it is then they could very likely dominate the "Hang on...you want HOW much for a fixed lens camera?!?!?!?" sector of the market quite quickly.

Integration into Instagram with voice to text to do the caption right off the camera is all within reach if they open it up as well. I'd like to see them use the usb-c port for an add on cellular module as well to take the phone out of the equation as well with an always on connection. Seems ridiculous having to tether to your main phone when it can do it itself. I bought an Android based voice driven language translator which has a world data sim in it that costs £50 a year and this could use exactly the same sort of thing.

I do find it amusing as well that after weeks of debate about how many card slots a camera should have, they've gone "Tell you what, how about none."
