I think even at retail prices of addons the X-T3 is less than £1500 worth of additions from being a very capable cinema camera base, so Fuji should be able to bring it in as an integrated product for well under £3K. They won't though, just to spite us

I was discussing with @Andrew Reid at the show the other day about someone making an s35 camcorder and how I thought Fuji would be ideal basing it around the X-T3. But I've been subsequently been thinking about having an attempt at cinevising something like the A6500. And when I say something like the A6500, I actually mean my A6500 I think it's a capable and compact enough building block to make something pretty interesting with. God knows I'll have to do something with it because I can't stand it as it is !

RED were trailing what they were calling a "3K for 3K" camera but ditched it. They seem to now be ploughing the "3D for another 3 months late" furrow with their phone instead. They should do a Cinecorder for us

Sorry, Yeah, was just going off current £2.5K for the Sony and £3.5K for the Leica. God knows what the UK price will be post Brexit when it's probably launched. Probably cost 500 pairs of Levis, 10 sacks of potatoes and 25 LPs of music from Western bands. I definitely think that both that Panasonic and the Samsung whose name escapes me with the zoom lens would have found the world had come round to meet them if they did new versions.

If they pitch it midway between the RX1Rii and the Leica Q then it will be £3K. If it is then they could very likely dominate the "Hang on...you want HOW much for a fixed lens camera?!?!?!?" sector of the market quite quickly.

Integration into Instagram with voice to text to do the caption right off the camera is all within reach if they open it up as well. I'd like to see them use the usb-c port for an add on cellular module as well to take the phone out of the equation as well with an always on connection. Seems ridiculous having to tether to your main phone when it can do it itself. I bought an Android based voice driven language translator which has a world data sim in it that costs £50 a year and this could use exactly the same sort of thing.

I do find it amusing as well that after weeks of debate about how many card slots a camera should have, they've gone "Tell you what, how about none."

The Lightroom aspect is intriguing because it's obviously a massive hint that its Android and that might mean some interesting 3rd party apps. Very interested in following how this develops.

It's interesting that it has that angled grip like the Sigma DP Quattros. I noticed it got the usual losing their shit reaction from commenters on DPReview who'd never buy it anyway. I didn't catch what the camera was he was demoing footage of but it was very nice wide open aperture shots of cats. He should patent that style as Shallow Depth Of Feline.

Hang on...I have remembered something that I saw that caught my eye. Phil Bloom has a very fetching wooden case for his Macbook. Here he is calmly dealing with some bark/sap related issue that caused the audio from it not to work in his very well attended live demo.

In non hot dog related Photokina news.... I had a look at the Laowa cine lens and it looks quite promising. You'd have to waterboard them to get the price out of them though so it may prove to be more expensive than people might imagine. Erm....
