  1. Can you point to where I said URSA Mini 4.6K in my list rather than the global shutter equipped URSA Mini 4K ? I mean, you even quoted BM Ursa Mini 4K from my list in your reply for fucks sake. You might has well have said there is no global shutter on a Sony RX100 if you're going to try and be a smart arse and quote cameras that I didn't mention. There has been absolutely no "GS sensor wars" in any years let alone recent ones and I've got no idea where you've got that idea from.
  2. Like it ever leaves your head in the first place 😉
  3. You mean aside from all the footage on YouTube from (off the top of my head) BM Production 4K Camera, BM Ursa Mini 4K, Digital Bolex, AJA Cion, Sony F35, Sony F55 and the countless numbers of video camera made that had a CCD sensor ?
  4. Cine D? If sites are renaming themselves after picture profiles then maybe @Andrew Reid should consider SLOG as it must be just that trying to deal with the amount of trolls that show up here around camera launches.
  5. So the heat is all generated in the card bay? I'd give it about an hour before Tilta have this ready for pre-order then.
  6. I might be an old cynic but.... If I was worried about a web site harvesting your email address, then I'd be very dubious about going to a web site that offers to check that for you in return for you entering your email address. To be honest, I'd be pretty concerned that I'd just added my email address to a more valuable list of ones that hadn't already been harvested 🙂 I'm sure its legit though.
  7. Well then, he's certainly not gone away has he ? There is some pretty interesting stuff in there.

Possibly? I'll have you know its almost certainly perhaps potentially conceivably in all likelihood going to happen. At some point.
  10. Edelkrone have always struck me as a company that charge a bit of a premium but that you'd get a better level of support so thats bad to hear.
  11. According to the original report that Forbes used as the source for that article, if Canon don't pay the ransom then the hackers have created a data leak site where they will publish the data. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/canon-hit-by-maze-ransomware-attack-10tb-data-allegedly-stolen/
  12. His main issue, aside from the problem with the 1st one he received and the noise at higher speeds, was that the potential of what was shown with the combination with the gimbal didn't square with the reality due to the software not being able to control both simultaneously. That was then adressed with the linkage control feature so its a pity that he didn't do a follow up when that was enabled and it looked like Moza didn't do a great job in communicating how imminent that update was as reading their responses made it appear like it was some distant development.
  13. This is a run through of it for macro filming (cued up at the point at which he starts talking about it) and he goes through the pros and cons. He references that he wishes it could connect with Moza's other products and this has been subsequently happened with the linkage control feature with the Aircross 2 showcased in this next video. I have to say I was sceptical about a real use for the Slypod when it was launched but when you now see what it can do in tandem with the Aircross 2 then as a package it offers a lot of motion control possibilities for a total price of less than £600.
  14. Oh dear @Andrew Reid Seems that Canon have been victim to a ransomware attack. https://www.forbes.com/sites/daveywinder/2020/08/05/has-canon-suffered-a-ransomware-attack-10tb-of-data-alleged-stolen-report/#45538b3d499e I wonder if somewhere within that 10tb of data they've had stolen there is a forlorn email from the head of R&D saying "Yes, we've got it to do 8K and all that shit but you do realise this fucking thing is going to overheat if we don't put a cooling system in it don't you?"
  15. The point you seemed to be making, and the one that I was responding to, was about it appearing to be too complicated as being the barrier to you doing it. If the point you were making was that there was no applicable paying market in your area even if you have the technical solution then, yeah, that is a different matter entirely. Apologies for the confusion.

I could do you one between the 12-32 and the PanaLeica 12-60 as I actually have them both on my bench at the moment because I'm "up to something" with them. On the basis that if it competes with that far more expensive one then you'd be on to a winner ? It wouldn't be very elaborate as I'm too stretched to go anywhere (so a Spyder LensCal and ColorChecker at say 12, 26, 24 and 32 would be the scope of it) and it wouldn't be for a few days but let me know.
  17. Ah but isn't the argument that everyone else will be thinking that way too precisely why you should be doing it and hoovering up all the business ? Teradek's bonded cellular encoders mean that you are not at the mercy of the venue, or you can use them to additionally boost your outbound speed by bonding cellular and whatever wired/wireless speed they have available) They can use pay as you go data plans with no monthly commitment so you can charge for data on a per job basis without tying yourself into ongoing monthly costs. It will set you back circa $/€2000 for the Vidiu Go encoder and two of their Core modems though 😉
  18. Sigma are still on the fence over developing anything for the Z and RF mounts but if this camera is going to happen then it might persuade them to dip their toe in and re-do their three compact mirrorless APS-C primes in RF mount as they've just done for L mount. You have to think that Canon, like Nikon have with the Z50, will do APS-C cameras with the new mount so there will eventually be more suitable glass for it. At that price, I can see this camera being a big hit even if its only likely to be going to be used with adapted lenses in the short term.
  19. The secondhand market is obviously fuelled by people getting shut of their current gear to buy new gear, so the more buoyant new sales are then the greater the number of used cameras there are which in turn pushes the price down. For a few reasons, there are not a lot of people buying new cameras at the moment due to COVID-19. One reason is opportunity as bricks and mortar camera stores in a lot of countries are only just starting to open their doors properly. Of course, the other reason is financial as, even leaving aside professionals who's work has fell off a cliff, people who don't do photo/video for a living but make up a huge proportion of sales have already lost their jobs or are in fear of losing them so have bigger fish to fry. If you look at somewhere like the UK where the government furlough scheme is now being tapered down and will end outright at the end of October there are inevitably going to be some massive job losses. Sadly, this will then lead to a big increase in the other reason that gear comes on to the used market, which is financial hardship. That influx will lead to lower prices as will the reduced financial circumstances of those still in the market to buy. So, the UK will likely be a cheap place to buy used gear from November onwards and with a deflating currency and the "challenges" on the horizon in January from Brexit it will almost certainly become cheaper still.
  20. I know, thats why I said I "only" needed 800mm as the cricket was centre based ?
  21. It certainly seems to be losing some detail in the faces there 🙂 Test match cricket was the longest field sport I used to shoot and it would be full frame with the 300-800mm and occasionally a 1.4X TC but mainly the action was in the centre of the field so yes you are looking for quite the range to get mid shots at the distances you're looking at.

Its a lovely little lens. I've always got my eye out for the 75mm too but I have an unrealistically low price in mind after missing out on one at a Cash Converters for £200 a couple of years ago so it still eludes me!
  23. At least three more variants of the ATEM Mini.
  24. Well they did base it on a design of a hybrid 20D and 5D. Just not the ones people were expecting.
