It depends on the anamorphic lens. In Adobe Premiere I set the clip for example: - the height at 73,3% and width at 110%, with sequence 3840x1600, (a bit cropped in width) or - the height at 67,7% and the width at 100%, with sequence at 3840x1440 (here you will have the full 1,5x width) But there might be other ways to get the same and more sequence settings

I agree Matthew, the prices of anamorphic lenses can be redicilous, but... there a lot of families that are cleaning the cellar and attics of their lost granddads and they have no idea what a lens should cost. I have seen Iscorama 36 in priceranges between $500,- and $4.000,-. If you buy from an expert, you will pay the highest price. You only have to be smart with searching. But it is nice to see when you have a combo with a lens over 40 years old and the NX1.

Hi Matthew, Thank you for your feedback. I do not know if I had an ND filter on front. It was one of the first tests and a frameshot of it. I now have the variable ND filter in 86mm at front of my Hardcore DNA. And it was also the first with the NXL adapter.

Looks really good لطفي بوعكاز , can you tell me a bit more about your settings and grading? Thank you!

Closest focus is about 1 meter in this combination. See the film you selected at 2:02m. Filmed at f2.0 and I think less than 1 meter. Do you also have a Bolex 16/32?

wow @Parker you helped me a lot with your answer. Thank you! The sharpness is very good of the NX1 and also I like the body, menu etc very well. But I did not know how the GH5 is compared to the NX1, whit your answer I do now. I also have the 16-50s lens and also the NXL speedbooster. I mostly have an anamorphic set mounted for filming and only for professional use, I shoot some photos. ... I think I will keep the NX1, there is no need to step up (or down) to the GH5 at this moment. Thanks again!

Just wondering if anyone moved from the NX1 to GH5. Why did you move and did the results of the GH5 at your expectations?

Thank you Jonasy. Everyone here says the same... If you start filming anamorphic once, you always will do that! I started a year ago and the anamorphic lens is standard on my camera. I love it. There are a lot of ways to start anamorphic filming. I also did investigation which lens I would buy. I made a choice for the best and bought a Bolex 16/32/1.5x. But I also sold him and bought a Kowa 1.5x, Iscorama 36. Those lenses has already a new home and I have now again the Bolex (another one - lucky me).

I put the .bin file directly on a clean SD card. The easiest way to update to 1.41.

Something not working for me ... help needed. I do not know why, but I imagine that I lost somewhere the SW 1.41 version in my camera and that I am running the hack at SW 1.0 version. That was happened during my holiday in Austria. How that happened... don't know. Now I will install the SW 1.41 with I-launch, but I cannot connect the NX1 with windows 10. I only see "connection device: not connected" . In windows I can see all images on the camera, I am using the right cable. Can someone give me some advice? In meanwhile I am looking also at Google to find out. Thank you!

I filmed two weeks during our summer holiday, so there are a few more scenery films to follow ;-) enjoy! Samsung NX1 + Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f2.0 + Bolex 16/32/1.5x + Hardcore DNA

only two pictures with the NXL adapter. Taking lens is the Mamiya 55 f1.4 lens. Anamorphic lens Bolex 16/32/1.5x and Rectilux HCDNA for focussing. Soon a new short film with this combo. Screenshots, taken wide open.

Short film of a hike during our holiday in Filzmoos - Austria. Samsung NX1 - Voigtländer Ultron 40mm - Bolex 16/32/1.5x - Rectilux HCDNA.

The last weeks / months I don't see any 1.5x anamorphic lens.... It's a bit too quiet. But I am sure, some will pop up soon.

I think they have the update on the shelf but is not finished or tested...Wasn't it a few months after the update that Samsung quited the camera line? I talked to some Samsung guys at LinkedIn who developed a few years ago software for the NX1, but they can't tell me more. They are all on other projects now.

For photography, the 16-50 f2-2.8 is the best for me. For anamorphic filming I use the Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f2.0, sharp with the Bolex 16/32/1.5x. I am now looking for the best 58mm lens to use with my anamorphic lens ánd the NXL adapter. I have the Mamiya 55mm f.1.4 which is good, but looking for the best... Voigtländer 58mm f1.4?

Panasonic GH5 Review and exclusive first look at Version 2.0 firmware
keessie65 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
... I have a Samsung NX1 and Bolex 16/32, and also the NXL adapter. Still happy with the NX1 but consider buying the GH5. With a 1.5x factor the decision to change will be more easier ;-) -
But why then an update for the mobile app?

Last summer there was an update for the mobile app. Will there be an update for the NX1 camerabody in the future?

Wonderful Austria!

Hi Dick, Thank you for looking! I had a tripod and Gitzo carbon monopod on holiday and I liked the monopod the most.

Filmed in Austria at the Dachstein region. Samsung NX1 + Voigtländer Ultron 40mm + Bolex 16/32/1.5x + HCDNA.
