I am using the Zeiss 50mm f1.7. But I didn't have done any tests so far. Tried only short and results were looking good. I am at holiday for this moment and left the NXL at home. I took my anamorphic lenses only.
-
Do you use the thin adapter? It works for me ;-) see eBay http://www.ebay.de/itm/272088667094
-
Looks nice Dick! Perhaps you can use next to the 100mm lens, the pancake version of Nikon, the 50mm f1.8.
-
I did send I just send a message to Luca with messenger (facebook), did you do that also? ... at friday I received the NXL and I will post some pictures later. But I have to say, it's well build and the first pictures I have taken were very impressive.
-
In the question of this discussion; Yes, I would buy again a NX1. The only thing, I bought him last year cheaper than he is now. For semi-professional use, I have the 16-50mm S lens and I love it! For hobby, a complete anamorphic setup and soon combined with the NXL adapter.

I can answer... but it's actually the same as asking 'how old are you' ...you mostly do not ask that ;-) But, here we go; my setup, the Bolex 16/32 1.100 dollar (yes it can!), the HCDNA, 900 dollar, rig 250 dollar, Ultron 40mm 350 dollar. I had a Iscorama 36 and sold him. This setup is huge and weight a lot more, but the quality IMHO is much better than the Iscorama. And at least, I don't sell my Bolex ever again.
-
I also can confirm that the quality of the HCDNA is superior. But, you need good lenses too. The Bolex 16/32 is a high end piece of glass and also the taking lens takes part of the quality of the film. The HCDNA is well build, easy to focus, build as .... and weight like a tank ;-)

Luca is the brain and producer behind the NXL, also on this forum. Send him a privat message with messenger at his facebook page; www.facebook.com/NXL-284084538620105/

Samsung Camera Manager new Update!!! The very first good news
keessie65 replied to cojocaru27's topic in Cameras
I had this morning an automaticly update on my mobile phone OneplusOne - android. Don't know exactly what the update is, but good news anyway. Now that Canon fails with 4K, perhaps that Samsung is coming back on the market. A new NX2 will blow Canon away ....keep on dreaming ;-) -
There he goes! http://www.ebay.nl/itm/-/122576751431?

Recently I did a test with the Bolex 16/32/1.5x, HCDNA, Ultron 40mm and Samsung NX1.
-
I just ordered the NXL adapter. I will use him wirh my Bolex anamorhot 16/32/1.5x and hardcore DNA focus module. Will see how it works with the Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f2.0 and Zeiss 50mm f 1.7
-
Yes, I did ;-)

Back to the Bolex family again! I few weeks ago I just send only 5 emails to Bolex shops all over the world and there was one guy in Ellijay (US) that has one in stock, not mentioned for sale... till I mailed. Today I received this little lens and it is in almost NEW quality. Now I have two 1.5x lenses, but I think the Bolex will be standard mounted on my NX1.

Advice on eBay anamorphic lens listing (No advertising)
keessie65 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
a normal price for a Bolex 16/32/1.5x is about between $1,5K and $2K at this moment. Also depending what colour flares it has. The lens in the auction is missing one screw in the front ring, which means that the lens is opened by someone. If that was done by a professional, you will have all screws. $1K for this lens would be a fair price. If you have luck, you can find higher quality Bolex lenses for less than $1,5K -
Nice promo, nice bicycle, nice music... well done.
-
To everybody I can say, if you have a Bolex, keep him, don't sell him. It's a great lens. I owned one and sold him. Now I have a Kowa c35, also a great lens but as second lens I am looking for a Bolex 16/32/1.5x again. So if you want to sell your Bolex, let me know. Thanks!
-
The Iscorama Pre 36 is a fine lens, beautiful flares. There are many ideas about sharpness and performance. I found that the Iscorama was not sharp enough and I also saw that there is more Colour aberration. Do not know, I don't have a rangefinder.
-
The Bolex is a high end lens and I can recommend that to you. I didn't own a Prominar 16-A but I do have now a Kowa anamorphiC 35. Also highest quality, with the same stretch as the Bolex (1,5x), but less expensive. Both has their ow character, see the forum for more information.
-
Yes, you need the tensionscrews. You cannot fix the lens without the screws.
-
The front of the HCDNA does not rotate, the Kowa to the Ultron with the RedStan clamp (with small srews).
-
Yes, less is more. The lenght is not so much, the weight is more. That makes the combo also more stable. The Ultrom works fine with the Ultron. But be carefull, there only 3 little screws on the back of the lens that holds your camera. You cannot walk aroud, you need a small rig. I don't have helios lenses and at this moment no ND filter. Step by step ... Soon I will sell another lens and then I can spend a little for something news.

The complete setup with hardcoreDNA (HCDNA + C35 + Ultron 40mm + NX1). For the mic I am using Audio Technica mixed with other parts of VideoMicro. Needed only a minimalistic rig. ..... Time to make films
