  1. Thanks, appreciate the comment. I do get that the excessive movement might not go down well with everyone, in fact as it's the only wedding video I have to show people to get more wedding work, I'm concerned because this is not a "traditional" wedding video, it might put other couples off from hiring me!! Yes the GH5 rolling shutter is that good!!.. I'd love to move to Sony but the rolling shutter SUCKS and i like working with my shoulder rig, not a gimbal.
  2. Too many Amstel!!! hahahahhahahahah Fair point on the movement, though I kinda like it! Not sure what you mean about the lenses??, this was shot on gh5, with a speed booster and Zeiss 28mm and some Zeiss 85mm
  3. Ok, here it is..... I did not follow the style of the Max Mara thing exactly but that wasn't the intention, more the feel I suppose. Anyway, I am interested to here your thoughts!!
  4. No offence taken! I'll find out if i was successful when i edit it together hahahahahah!!......Anyway, I am only creating "highlights" type video, they didn't pay me enough for anything longer. They are fully aware of what I am aiming for and like the idea, they want me to use "The Meters - Just Kissed My Baby" for the music so it won't be the typical cheesy video all shot in slow mo with bloody Coldplay as the backing music!!!!!!!!!! This is one of my reels...
  5. I am only just catching up on all the great comments (as usual!), haven't been around for a while. I shot it but haven't started the edit yet, when it is finished I'll post it here for you all to tear to shreds! ?
  6. Hahaha haha lololololzlzllololz That's gotta be the best comment I've read on here yet!!
  7. I'm shooting a wedding today, first time. I'm going for the style in this video. I'm pretty sure I know how to do it but just wondered if you all had any pointers! ? Thanks
  8. Your comment has actually convinced me, I do love my setup and the quality I am getting from it, just cancelled the eBay sale. I'll find a way around my money woes.
  9. Just an update on this. I'm still having a hard time making a decision. I love shooting with the GH5, it's a pleasure to use. For some unknown reason I'm drawn to a bigger sensor camera but both the A6300 & 6500 have some awful pitfalls (screen dimming, overheating - and it gets scorching hot here in Alicante). Like someone else already said, the GH5 has already lost a lot of resale value yet the specs and functions remain top class. I use 4k 60p pretty much all the time so I would weep in my pillow if I didn't have it!!! jajaja Plus I already cancelled the sale of all my Zeiss lenses because something about them makes me go all warm and fuzzy inside!!!!....even though I hate having to use lens boosters and adaptor rings to make them work! I'd love the A7III but then I'm spending money not saving it. I might just keep everything and rent my ass out instead LOL!
  10. I only have one MFT lens, the rest are old vintage zeiss so I'm not tied to the MFT system
  11. Hahahaha.... A6000, A6300 or something else entirely G7 perhaps??
  12. Hey all, Im thinking of selling my GH5, Cage, 20mm Pany and Lens Turbo and three Zeiss vintages. Money is tight right now and I dont get paid for video, furthmore most people watch videos on a mobile bloody phone, not a 50" TV and have no clue what Log is!!!! I'm thinking of buying maybe the A6000 or A6300 or something in that price range, I like Sony's autofocus when you are shooting at say f1.8. However I am fully aware of the Sony pitfalls. Back in the day my GH2 was easily good enough to shoot this.....
  13. I'll wait until the A7SIII officially comes out then will look at the prices of the A7SII. Work is very slow right now!!.....Cant afford a loaf of bread to feed my 12 illegitimate children
  14. To be honest I rarely drink and I NEVER take my equipment out if I do, just totally forgot where I hid my camera!!! hahahahah Already cancelled the A6000
  15. Jjajajajjajaj......I'll keep it for now, other than the low light issue and I think the stills autofocus sucks.....I actually like my set up. I have a set of vintage zeiss primes and a speed booster. I could sell the GH5 and speedbooster though but I still wouldnt have enough money for an A7SII which is what I really want.
  16. Guess what folks......I FOUND MY GH5 AND ALL MY ZEISS LENSES!!!!!! Here's the story.....last week I got incredibly hammered in many bars!!!!! I must have hidden my camera bag because I just found it in a suitcase in one of my wardrobes!!!! Moral of the story......drink is evil!! hahahhahahahahahh
  17. I buy all my stuff from the UK. Electronics are expensive in Spain. I paid £450 for the A6000 with the kit lens. I'll definitely buy a fast prime too but I'm not sure which just yet.
  18. Ok folks, thanks again for all the comments!!!!......this is the best forum for filmmakers inmho!! In the end I decided against the A7 (shock horror!) I bought the Sony A6000!!....reason being, it's a great 1080 camera, its dirt cheap and I can upgrade to and A7S or whatever later when I have the money!! There are some amazing videos on youtube shot with this camera, I was surprised how good!
  19. Thanks very much for that Robin, great video!! As I understand it the main difference between the A7 and A7II is the image stabilisation. The vast majority of specs are the same. I assume you used the internal stabilisation on this video?? The A6300 would definitely be a camera I'd consider but I live in Spain and that thing overheats in the Arctic!!!............plus that ROLLING SHUTTER......Yikes its worse than any camera, ever!!!
  20. You obviously did not watch the example video i provided. Ridiculous comment!!!
  21. This is my other reel - I could shoot like this on most cameras. I dont have my heart set on any camera, but I need one NOW and it's available.
  22. Its M43 ahahahhahahha I dont care about 4k, IBIS, V-LOG or any of that........I care about the art of filmmaking and those functions will not make a shit filmmaker good!!! hahahahha A7 video - no 4k, IBIS, log etc
  23. You cannot get a second hand 5D for £600...not even close. I answered all your other points above! A6000 is good, true but does not interest me at all. The G7 is also good but I am TIRED of the M43 sensor. they are shite in low light, there is no denying it. I want the full frame, no more speed boosters, no more a 24mm is actually a 48mm field of view........I could go on
  24. Thanks for the comment on the reel!! There is no other full frame camera I can get for £600.00.......sure there are great cameras like the Pany G7 etc but if im honest, the low light thing has ALWAYS bugged me about micro four thirds. That and crop factors, having to add speed boosters etc etc. Sure the A7 is no A7SII.......but then im not a pro, I dont get paid for my work unfortunately!!!!!.......and money is tight now. £600.00 for an A7 with 12 month guarantee is a bargain! Thanks for the helpful comments as always guys, I love this forum!!! Now which lens should I get???? hahahahha I can only afford one for now 50mm f1.8 or 28-70 f3.5-5.6??? Thats about all I can afford!
