The 1dxmk2 is a great camera to have. I will snap one if not for the price. In terms of image straight out of the can. No DSLR can compete with the 4k imho. The mjpeg is very robust. If you are not keen about grading and just want something edit cut ready, then it's the cam to get. Canon colours, Dpaf, almost full frame at 4k. Great stills. The Down side for me is the price. If it was sub 3k then it's worth it. But at £4000 you are better of investing in a proper video cam.

I agree. The problem with a lot of these cameras is people want Log and flat profile but really don't have a clue on how to treat these files.

Looks very decent. Golden Hour obviously. Regardless.

Does it really improve the image though? I am looking at alot of the b-raw images, very pleasing to the eye, but nothing significantly different. Braw doesn't really address the FPN, sensitive sensor issue with the UM4K does it?

All subjective. Don't think it's rubbish. When you post clips skin tones on the GX thread. I often wonder "what is the point? " but each to their own

Each to their own. I think the footage looks good. Reminds me alot of the BMCC.. This sensor has very similar characteristics. I think the white balance was slightly off Other than that encouraing stuff

You guys crack me up with these comments s. Most camera users these days swing like pendulums. these camera manufacturers will always have one USP that sways users every 3-4 years .Same anti - canon rebels would still be on the look out for what ML can come up with on canon cameras.

This is lovely. It does have a similar mojo to it's predecessor. The colours look a lot richer. I like this A much better footage than I have seen so far. I would let this camera settle in the market before deciding on picking up one or not.

More like an FF M50. Picked up the M50, its one hell of a camera for a compact mirror less. i didn't think this Canon R was going to be better than the 1DXII AND 5DMKIV..

Same. Seen the 4.6k go for under 3K. UMP still going for 4K. Not bad prices at all. But the size is an issue for me.

I always liked the form factor of this cam.But this upgrade is disappointing. If the improvement incolor is similar to the F3/F5cinema range, then fair play. Otherwise people are better of picking up a bargain used the FS51. I have seen them as low as £2500

This is impressive. I would love them to make a battery grip to this. Specs are awesome. Bout time these guys made a cam in a proper dslr Format. This kills the GH5 imo. I might pick one of these up.

Love the look so far. If the image is similar to the bmcc with a 4k res 60fps. Happy days
