Competition always brings out the best, especially for creative companies like Jvc.

In the JVC Gyls300 Facebook user group Lon Mass from JVC spoke about a 900 version that may materialize! Here's hoping for 10 or 12 bit recording and Raw output with some advanced features, like better body, EVF etc. Also there is a big announcement about the JVC GYls300 this week!!! Sounds like JVC is taking Cinematography Cameras very serious!!!
-
Most definitely that's true. I'm curious, what was your perspective on the negative aspects of the Ls300? I think the body could have had a more durable feeling to it. I also think that JVC should have prepared for 10 bit and RAW capabilities.
-
I agree that the Ls300 is a great camera! Idk why some individuals say negative things about it and the specs are very similar to the FS5? I understand it's a JVC, but I remember there's was a time when Sony wasn't considered an option.
-
It's funny because I was thinking that the other day! Lol....
-
The specs are there for the JVC Gyls300 to capture great footage and make a high quality film. The FS7 and especially the FS5 isn't that far off, if at all, from the JVC. People are stuck with the contemporaries and I get it , but don't forget Sony was once considered laughable. The price is right and the capabilities are beyond he price of this cinema camera. In regards to slow motion, I find it very usable, so I'm not sure what exactly is meant.

This is some great recent footage with this sleeping beastly technology. Imagine the potential once this update comes. https://vimeo.com/200431612

Good find and great details.

I'm assuming that it still is 8 bit 4k 4:2:2 internally and 10 bit 4k 4:2:2 Externally.
-
Yes I totally agree that this is a package that is hard to beat. It already was competition for the FS5 but now it is up there with the FS7 for a fraction of the cost and the IQ is excellent!

@Kisaha no problem and you're welcome! I over expose it. I don't use Premiere and hardly any LUTS. I work with Magix Vegas Pro 14 and the program's grading tools with scopes. If you're on Facebook join the JVC Gyls300 community! Plenty of helpful people over there! https://m.facebook.com/groups/864045253678018?tsid=0.41941317709701675&source=typeahead

@Kisaha yes I own one and will get a couple more. For Jlog I usually keep it at ISO 400 and expose very little to the right. I'm still perfecting it but the footage mostly comes out as expected.

That's for 4k 60 p only, everything else is internal.
