I'd be glad to buy and test/play P4k from you - and so to help you to survive from unpleasant feeling of living-close-to-dead-system The more cameras are coming I'm more astonished with mistake that Panasonic made with GH5 that so miscalculatingly overshadowed future products... luckily, they put in it that ugly-wobbling IBIS for preventing really professional shooters to use it and ruin their precious pure cinema art achievements. But, then right from nowhere came mr Sage with his GHa lut and inject in stubborn GH5 vampire fresh blood...

I don't know the future, but judging from actual development rate/state, m43 has at least 1, or even closer to 2 year advanced (in comparison with FF hybrids) technology implementation in some very important areas for video shooting. So, it seems that m43 users at least have 2 years for dying preparation after last product achievements - which maybe it is not so bad. (In that regard it is easier to digest the fact of absence of possibility to buy-it-now Pocket 4k until next New Year.)
-
I must admit that in the last video - Pocket vs RED - at least in the daylight scene with two lovely dogs, Pocket IMO shows slightly better and more consistent color gradient and whitelight/fallof distribution (although also magenta cast).

Yes, actual camera as news for future product, it is without doubt fresh-ingenious marketing idea! The same signature sort of, say, putting ugly, wobbling IBIS that ruins shots in GH5, because of better selling GH5s...

Please share or point to some of that cinema is art Eos R imagery! -
Than it seems safe to say that, say, Daniel Peters and Wild Ranger know how to wobble it like a pro.
-
Yes, harsh movements are always dangerous for... sensors.
-
IBIS absence from GH5s was also explained as solution for protecting most demanding professional customers from image defects. Of course, most demanding professional customers immediately recognized and wholeheartedly congratulated such deeply protection-motivated move.

Yes, and playing is always so refreshing... But I'd suggest not to spend too much time - isn't' it, seriously, that all non-fanboys kinda already know the most important answer. That one about high probability that we are living in the golden era for/with so many creativity tools - so, as once upon a time wrote H. D. Thoreau ""I took a walk in the woods and came out wider than the Pocket 4k, taller than Olympus OM1X and heavier than BMCC/Panasonic S1. ""

IMO it is very interesting to see how Panasonic (or respectively any other) marketing team hardly works to think and rethink and find a space under the selling sun for all products in their gamma. Some sort of puzzle: what will they cripple here and there, what to loosely promise here and there, what to put in the upgrade roadmap. Big exercise of logic that grows to mini science under the pressure of competition.
-
For me it is far more interesting reverse process - to make BMCC 2.5k m43 or Micro to get a look of Pocket 4k (with little bit more accurate sharpening or MD bumping in Resolve and using nice clean lenses as Veydra or Voigts). Even better with Resolve's super upscale to 4k... So gentlemen, please note it also as, at least, last and secondary task.

It seems that initial video specs are especially meant to help selling of GH5 and GH5s... and for those who are blessed to exactly know what is it "Full frame look" :)

Excuse me: Is it a deep text that follows best-gimbal PM teaser?
-
Yes, it seems so - mention of childishly pompous teasing always brings some further funny theatrical exhibitions.
-
Indeed, it is so nice that you don't write the full portraits you have in your mind... Just collecting PMs for further teasing of best unseen gimbal that somebody else dared to call mysterious.
-
Nice, but I only wrote that your repeated calls for PMs teasing of unseen product looks little bit childishly ridiculous and inappropriate to me.
-
Again, with all due respect - just please, if it is possible, don't use forum for repeated, childishly pompous secret advertising... At least, IMO it shows some lack of taste, especially if being, as you try to imply, for somebody/somewhere some sort of vip.
-
With all due respect - for me it is not mysterious, but little bit childishly ridiculous...

@DBounce said: Good luck selling a $3k GH6. I cannot fathom what it would need to have to justify that price whilst keeping the smaller sensor. @IronFilm All the goodness of the GH5S/GH5 combined, plus: internal 4K 120fps 10bit, raw over HDMI, internal NDs, and fixed TC. Many people would buy that GH6 for $3K in a heartbeat. ... Moreover, what looks a sort of miscalculation (if it is not fan attitude) to me is to hang on comparing just initial price that usually affect people already hardly affected with GAS This is especially relevant with cameras that are as pioneers, aka are first ones that bring some important innovations and reckons on longer comparative market life - as obviously GH line or BM products. With such products just wait 6 or 12 months and here and there will arise possibilities to buy used ones, or presentation ones, or half grey marketed etc... As already mention several times, GH5 after 2 years has qualities still unmatched with newest products of other manufacturers (and it seems it will stay the same at least for another cycle of new camera wave), or first BM Pocket or Micro keep their original advantages for several years. In another words, it seems to me that really exists few cameras for which is much more important what they brings to table than if their initial GAS nurturing price is +/- 500$ - because of their prolonged important-life cycle...

It seems that 5k (via open gate or 6k in photo mode) has less sharpening as result in processing image, at the same time keeping tiny little bit more details (maybe because of different algorithm used in photo and video mode). It also provide more room for stabilizing and, obviously, for framing. But, being 4:2:0 is less great for grading than 4k. Using HLG, of course, still provides usage of great GHa lut.

That's one of the magical moments in that test - his white balance settings are everywhere (so consequently color shifting ), especially in case of GH5s, who knows maybe he also set camera to shutter priority ... What is enigmatic question also - did he see/check results before uploading them or just was in hurry to make youtube visitors happy as soon as possible? Or maybe everything was actually intended to be some sort of parody?

Somewhere about 6:00 there is test with candle lights
