I am at Photokina. What would you like me to ask?
Anaconda_ replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Bitrate, FPS, inputs/outputs, codec etc. of the new Pannys would be really good to know. They barely mentioned anything about the video specs. -
My camera store has been in contact with BMD UK, and apparently were told yesterday that delivery in Europe has been delayed.
-
Honestly, I wouldn't grade it. What profile did you use to shoot it? Also, whats with this camera and racetracks?
-
Sorry, I should have been clearer. When the cars are coming around the last corner, they kind of judder through the frame. This happens when the clip is played at the original 50fps and slowed to 25fps. This footage is from a test day Fuji held for the camera, so I thought it could have been unfinished firmware or something like that.

Yes please, someone do this. I saw and downloaded this: https://vimeo.com/288859455 But the playback is nuts. Especially with the cars coming directly at the camera. Can anyone confirm that this is also in the final release?

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???
Anaconda_ replied to Trek of Joy's topic in Cameras
Or wait for 8.5K in 2021 Or wait for 8k IBIS in 2022 Or wait for 8k 120p in 2023 Or wait for 8k 120p IBIS in 2024 At some point, you just need to buy a camera and be happy with it ? -

That's 10-25mm f.17, but the number chart on the bottom is certainly confusing. -

It seems kind of underwhelming to me. Sure it has some pretty great features, but I can't see anything insanely groundbreaking. I mean, it doesn't even have a second, useless, record button next to the main one on the front. The weather proofing and EVF are certainly pretty great. But I missed any info on slowmo, 4K crop, ISO range etc. Seems like the price of the body and then the lenses, there are other, perhaps more exciting options. Just my 2c. -
Any chance you can upload a bunch of footage? I'd love to see the same thing shot in Film, Video and Extended Video mode for some comparisons. Also, the usual stuff we've not yet seen. Does the sun have a hole? Rolling shutter etc. No worries if not, I know you probably just want to play with it in your own way haha.

Well, no shit. It is the end of September ?

I really hope my suppliers do the same. On Thursday I'm off to work in another country for a month, so if I doesn't arrive by then, I'm in for an even longer wait haha. What country are you in? It's way too early for anyone here to be sending emails about a received shipment.

It's expected to come in an update to the Ronin. I'm going wait for that update before buying the ronin.

Is there any footage from this camera to download? @Andrew Reid do you plan on uploading some original files? I'm interested to see how it behaves in post.

A quick sample of the touch AF kind of in action. It doesn't show much, but you can see that it's doing something.

Just a guy trying to get everyone ahead of him in the queue to cancel their orders, so he gets bumped up.

B&H expected availability changed to November.

That's great! I Was trying to find out too. That update is going to be such a good one. Braw and Ronin focus control in one (hopefully). Still going to hold off buying the S until that update arrives.

From the article, this seems quite topical: "It’s sad to see that manufacturers seem to be ignoring big shows like IBC more and more in favour of finding their own dates for big product releases, including big press trips. That is really not great at all because it can easily become a way to prevent real hands-on reviews before a release or to squash critical questions."

I hear epoxy will do the job and keep your tripod socket free.

It just needs a 'backup now' button to dump form the CFast to the SSD/HDD
-
So I just got some C.Fast 2.0 cards - I want to be able to record ProRes HQ, so even if Braw can go straight to SDs I needed these anyway... Anyway, a while ago I asked if C.Fast 2.0 cards can be read by C.fast 1.0 readers. It turns out they can! Because of this, I imagine then that C.Fast 1.0 cards can be used in this camera for lower bitrate recordings and possibly Braw too. So for those of you, like me, who have the Atomos Ninja Star, dig 'em out, stick the card in the P4K and forget about it, have it ready for emergencies! Also, for those wondering, here's a speedtest of the Integral Ultima proX2 CFast 2.0 card. On the sticker, it says 'up to 550mb/s read 540mb/s write' so either they've over estimated or my Atomos CFast reader is creating a bottleneck. It's a USB 3.0 reader. Either way though, I can still get those ProRes HQ recordings in 60fps, so I'm happy.

So nice you said it twice.

Does anyone know of a dtap cable that'll work with this camera? Or a cable to go from 7.2V/5.5mm Pole-tap DC output to the P4K?

2.8 zoom with electronic contacts and character

If it's any help, I use the Sigma 18-35 with Viltrox on a Gx80. I'll happily do some tests for you, but not sure if the sensor etc. Is the same... Just let me know what you need.
