  1. I was talking specifically about their new MFT8k cam and its screen, only that.
  2. Same with Resolve. Blackmagic understands how UI supposed to function. Sony - dont. Proven with their cameras and software (somebody tried Sony Vegas? Dont bother, save your nerves)
  3. That is a mystery to me as well. Everyone is like WTF SONY YOUR MENUS LOOK PREHISTORIC and they still havent changed that. I just dont get it. Hire one propper interface engineer, buy a BMCC4k and copycat from it at least. Why are they so stubborn with that shit is beyond me. We just need one brave interviewer who catches sony official and asks him straigh in the face : "Why are you menus look like outdated turtle piss and you still havent fixed that? How hard is that Sony?" And than shove them BMCC4k straight in their face if they try to argue something pathetic in their defence. Same mystery is why they use small crappy dimmed screens, instead of bright AMOLED 5 inch ones on cameras. JVC get it, others dont. I tend to disagree. Look at S1 - 4 times bigger sensor, almost the same level of IBIS. Sure they can implement it on a little bit bigger sensor than a usual m43.
  4. Completly agree. I'm anxiously waiting for next gen cameras from Panasonic and Sony, and frankly saying beeing a GH5 user I have more faith in Sony than in Panasonic. I would be glad to be proven wrong. Yes, Panasonic has way better ergonomics, IBIS, flip out screen, menus and video specs.. BUT Sony has substantially better sensor tech (if Panasonc doesnt roll out their infamous organic sensor with GH6), awesome cheap FF lenses like Tamron 28-75 and flawless AF. I would also add multi-aspect ratio sensor to that list of yours
  5. Panasonic promised on-sensor ND with their forever coming organic sensor, this is just one of the possibilities.
  6. Place it instead mechanical shutter, use global shutter, or replace usual one in a camera aimed at videgrapheres anyway, use on-sensor ND, etc.. I really dont care how they do it, but it needs to be done. Manually switching and dialing NDs is a major pita. Its not such an enormous engeneering challenge if it is on your priority list of things to add in camera. So just do it, ask Shia Labeof help if neccesessary ffs!
  7. Yeap, next gen mirrorless should provide most of the things I need in one package, which are: Mandatory: - build in Electronic ND - 4k60p 10bit - some extra DR - IBIS similar to GH5 - flawless AF And some extra stuff, I'd love to have: - global shutter - braw support - 5 inch 1500 nits fhd swivel touch screen - bmpcc4k type of menu system - 4k120p - even more DR - addition of EIS similar to GoPro HyperSmooth Let my dreams come true..
  8. I have nothing against it. If a camera can handle 8k it means it can handle every other smaller resolutions at higher framerate and bitrate. I can even imagine using 8k myself once in a year to do a smooth dolly zoom effect
  9. You dont need full frame mirrorless to do it. Get a cheaper 1 inch camcoder that has a proud 8K steaker on it and sell those. Too much trouble to cool a FF sensor. Panasonic can do it on m43. Sony on FF? Highly doubt it. You can technically buy, but are you going to? Almost none have it cos there is no point. You want see those 8k pixels from your couch anyway.
  10. I personally would love to see 4k 120 or at least 96\100. Could not care less about 8k. I guess its more of a marketing feature than a practical one if they even going to implement it. But as I see it A7S3 doesnt need 8k to sell well. All they need is 4k60 with 10 bit. If they have higher frame rates and global shutter or electronic ND that would be much more important for videographers who are an actual target group for this camera. Not some tourists coming to Olympics to shoot a home video for their non-existent 8k TVs. 8k has place for a very specific narrow workflow, but most ppl dont need it. 6k is a fine compromise though, Sony might go for it.
  11. I predict that Weebill price cut is defenitly coming. It was overpriced in the first place. From the review of Weebill I took that it is not very stable compared to other gimbals. I personally would add Moza Aircross 2 to choose from. It is coming soon too and will be in very light catergory, having some nice features (like tuning gimbal speed on the fly without the need to dig into setting via phone, usual high stability from Moza, both arca and manfrotto compatible plate, vertical video support, etc). But from those two, DJI SC looks like a more favorible and cheap option. I wish they made a light gimbal with a video signal transfered from a mounting base into gimbal by a WIRE and then to the phone by a WIRE again, not wireless. That would be really dope. Using usb tethering that is possible to achieve I guess. Hate those laggy unstable lowres wireless solutions. Theu have it on Ronin-S, but they cut it down on SC sadly.
  12. So will it arrive before GH6? ? The idea is great and I love the ability to store multiple focus pooints with various speed transitions. But the focus should work smoothly, otherwise it is not very usefull for me personally. I think you can gather even more customers with a Panasonic version, specially if it'll work on multiple cameras, like good old G85 or GX85.
  13. And quantum processor as well. Also as reported from my private source Panasonic working on a breakthough tech of some sort of new generation heatsink that gets minus 273 degrees warped directly from space. To keep quantum processor working and videographers heads cool.
  14. I think of that.. that there is nothing really new except audio. Slightly bumped specs and thats it. Waiting for A7S3 then..
  15. So good working PDAF on mft is possible! No more bullshit excuses for Panasonic.
  16. Just wait for a Chinese replica of BM keyboard for $50
  17. Panaleica 25 1.4 which gave me like 95% of shots. It's my goto lens for videography.
  18. I do own one. You can get it on Ali.
  19. Portkeys Lh5 - 1500 nits brightness, 200 Gramm, 290$
  20. Dont you have Windows page file turned off or fixed to some specific amount of gb? Setting it to auto solved 98% of my Resolve freezes and drop outs.
  21. I've decided to buy a new phone and also get a gimbal for it. Primary I want to shoot timelapses using HDR exposre blending for superior dinamic range. I'm going to shoot it with gimbal to add movement and also put gimbal on a motorized dolly once in a while (I have a very compact Yelangu L4 for that). The idea of a whole setup is to be compact, portable, easy to have on me most of the time. So, the question right now is which phone to choose. My budget is up to 500$ and mostly I am set to get either Xiaomi Mi9 or Redmi K20 which has the same main camera module - Sony IMX586 with 48mpx and able to shoot as 12mpx via binning. Mi9 has 4k60 vs 4k30 on K20. I dont know if I need 4k60 on that phone to tell the thruth. My main camera is GH5 for now and I have gimbal for it as well and 4k60 when I need it. Though I hate shooting timelapses on it with gimbal - too much hastle and also makes my main camera unaccessible for some time. Wounder what phone would everyone recommend to me.
  22. I was surprised as well the GH5 is so dominant here and A7 is not as much.
  23. I would choose BMRAW over Prores any day. And it's a free codec to implement. Also want big 5 inch flippy bright screens (at least 1000 nits) as someone mentioned.
  24. Year, the European price is sort of smack in the face of everyone except Americans. Talking about racial discrimination.
  25. Here we go! I like the looks of it, minimal focus distance and minimal breathing.
