  1. no AF, no IBIS, too bulky and apc-s only, old EF mount, but yeah they got couple of things extremly right. I wish BM would join l-mount alliance and add some proper tech for their cameras (AF and IBIS).
  2. Yes, proper monitoring tools, waveforms, false colors, lots of peaking and zebra options, etc. There is no point for them on the small screen but on a bigger one - sure! Through some anamorphic options in the bag and we are set.
  3. Forget one cool gadget I'd love to see - it would be cool if Sony made a separate viewfinder a-la Blackmagic, which tilts and plugs into a hot shoe.
  4. I just thought today, what do I want from a next iteration of Sony FX3? I want simple things: - much bigger screen of at least 1000 nits and around 5 inch diagonal - build-in eND - all the firmware upgrades from recent Sony cameras - maybe a gopro build-in gyro stab, without the need of post processing And thats it! I have enough resolution, plenty of DR and everything else. Yes sure, I dont mind 6k or even 8k, dont mind more DR but basicly this camera is alreday perfect fot its size. Just need those couple of features that would make my life so much easier. In terms of IQ and sensor tech Sony is already awesome and you can shoot basicly any project with it. I really hopy Sony impliments those things (at lease eND and bigger screen) in the next installment of its FX3 camera.
  5. Does it use NR01=1? Anyway it looks really good for such a small sensor. For linear 16x9 you need to crop even more into it, right? But I love the detail and color. Yes it will fall apart in low light.. but still impressive.
  6. Figured out how to use Gopro Labs, took me a while 🙂 Turning noise reduction off is really a game changer, but do you really need to increase bitrate that much? Isnt High option not enough by itself? Have you noticed any visible difference for say 5k30p footage? Or 5k60p footage?
  7. Sounds promising, gonna test it out today. I really like DR on GoPro11. They use dynamic tone mapping or some sort of real-time HDR tech like iPhone which gives their not so huge sensor a lot of DR and detail already. Would love to see what those new updates will bring to the table.

Checked the minimum focus distance - 8 cm. Nice. With all the cropping of 16% (active stab + post) you get a 18.5mm lens basicly. Also its weight is very nice for a gimbal.

Picked up a Youngnuo 16mm F1.8 emount lens for $288 and I really like it! Its light and compact (278gram) and gives me a bright wide aperture angle I wanted. Originally designed for APC-S but works surprisingly well on a FF for video. With active stab you need only to crop like 5-6% in post to get rid of the vignetting. AF works well, focus pulls are smooth and the minimum magnification is also nice and the focus breathing is excellent! I mean.. for 290 buck seems like a no brainer.
  10. Year man DJI stuff is awesome, I feel you. I have gone through a number of gimbals myself. My last one was Zhyuin Weebill S which is a nice gimbal and relativly light and compact (but with a mounting plate, small tripod and a top handle its about 1,3kg).. now I dont have it anymore and I want to try something new. I have noticed that Brandon Li uses Crane M3 a lot in his shots and there is a reason for that. DJI RSC2 is 1.2 kg and M3 or Aircross S is 700 gram, so that is a substantial differnce of 500 gram in my experince. You will start feeling it over time pretty quickly. Yes there are some tricks of how to tuck a gimbal under your belt I know them. I am working out actually so just to clarify - not an old crippled dude here. But still I want something more compact and light. Also the reason is that when gimbal adds an overall 1.2kg to your bag you just dont want to carry it anymore. I have so much stuff already - camera, lenses, a drone, monitor, monopod.. and now a gimbal. Its a constant battle of what exactly should I take on a shoot. So every 100 grams count. And here we have 500 of them 🙂 So for travel purposes I want to try a light gimbal. I dont mind paying 250$ just to see how it goes. I am always up for DJI making a gimbal in this category and switching to it. And I also want a DJI pocket 3 with a 1 inch sensor so I can ditch my gimbal for some shots completely. Cheers.
  11. Tamron 28-200. I love it. And Sony 35 1.8
  12. A really well-rounded honest review and not just another primitive shilled youtuber promotion bubbling about how awesome it is. Now we need a proper comparison between Scorpn mini and Moza Aircross S
  13. Man I wish DJI would make a small sub-800gram gimbal! I even wrote them a request on their forum..
  14. For me the one huge downside of Scorp mini is that it has zero mounting pounts. None. I would love to have an option to attach my monitor or at least a phone to a gimbal. I am specifically looking at the 800gramm tops for a gimbal cos for 1.2 kg you can have a ton of options including DJI. But those 400-500 gramm of difference play an important role in overall comfort and gimbal stamina for me. Still looking forward for your review. Would be nice if you test it with a heavy FF setup to check its weight limit and also do tests without any slowmo or camera IBIS to clearly see how the gimbal performs.
  15. I am not a fan of carring a huge gimbal with me and also I get fatigued when shooting it for a long time, and its cumbersome at best. But starting from Zhyiun M3 there have apperead a new bread of small portable gimbals which I am quite intrested in. The question is - which one to get? Here are the candidates: - Zhyiun Crane M3 (320$). Gimbal weight 700 gramm, supported weight is claimed 2.2kg by Zhyiun but I highly dought that number. The gimbal is year old though and ppl tested it extensivly. Brandon Li loves to use this one and he explained that the gimbal itself doesnt produce smooth footage so he uses catayst browse to stabilise his Sony camera on top of the gimbal which works very well but is a pain to use as it adds extra encoding step and makes all your footage 8 bit as well (or you need to buy catalyst Prepare, thank you Sony). I like the design, has DJI style focus ring and a nice modren touch screen. Also an etra 1/4 ounting point. The main downside for me is how janky and shaky the footage straight from the gimbal looks, very robotic. - Moza Aircross S (260$). Gimbal weight is also around 700 gramm and the weight it supports is stated at 1.8kg. No focus wheel, very old calculator-style non touch LSD but easy to switch for vertical shooting. From the test I have seen on the tube it is smoother and better for heavy cameras. One guy was succefully running it with A7S3 and Tamron 17-28 (1.3kg combo). - Feyiutech Scorp mini (230$). Gimbal weight 787 gramm, supported weight only up to 1.2kg. Has a top handle deisgn for easy briefcase\underslung mode. Nice touch screen, focus wheel. A like the design but kind of scared its maximum weight will be too limited for me. Now my camera setup will be Sony A7s3 with a half cage which is 870grams with an arca plate. Plus all my lenses will be exactly 280 grams + 50 gram VND. In total = 1.2KG Any advice pals?
  16. Definitely not my cup of tea - too expensive and too heavy 💁‍♂️
  17. Basicly deciding between Falcam F38 and PGYTECH SnapLock systems. Both Arca compatible, compact and could easily be adapted to any system as their base is also has an arca mount. Does anybody has any experience with those? The camera weight will be up to 2kg at max. Maybe there are some other nice alternatives, please do tell if you know any!
  18. I would also not rule out the possibility that DJI might get into producing more FF mirolless cameras. They already have their Ronin 4D and Husselband tech. They are arleady a part of L-mount alliance. They could make something trully great, like say a stripped down compact Ronin or even better a modular beast which you can attach DJI handles and screen from Ronin 4D at it can become either a handeld camera or a light gimbal.
  19. I think i am gonna use gyro stab to some degree but not 100% cos I like the handheld look, just to smooth it out. On some other particular shots I might use it more extensivly. I would also try using a gimbal with a gyro to get it as smooth as possible as I hate that robotic walking gimbal look. Or I would just use my air2s for those perfect floating camera shots. Dunno, need more experimetns. The softwae is just getting developed (I use with gyroflow for now, but I hope either Blackmagic will add support for Sony or the former will produce their promiced plugin so the workflow becomes more intuitive and simple). If I had to choose which one to get - stable footage or motion blur, I would choose stable footage, if that what I need. Some times you must have a motion blur. Just prioritize what you need.
  20. I am gonna come out and confess to everyone.. I shoot everything with a XAVC-HS (which is basicly H265) in 4k24fps at 50mbps on my A7S3. Add 10 bit 422 as well. Yeah, I sad it 🤭 I dont feel like my image is breaking apart or anything and I like that my files are small and compact and my ssds dont bloat as they used to be. Now recently as I noticed that ssd & uhs cards pprices have started coming down, I begin to wounder if I should maybe jump to at least 100 mbps? What do you guys think? I dont shoot for Netflix or any fancy productions and just publish on youtube. Do I really need to bother with at least doubling my bitrate?
  21. If they would work with other cameras with gyro like the latest Sony cameras, that would be even better. I am tired of waiting for gyroflow Resolve plugin.
  22. I frankly wish that Nikon would make a dedicated video camera a-la Sony fx3, but with Nikon ergonomics, a big bright screen, gyro stab, etc. Not going to dream about a build-in ND but if Nikon engeneers would manage to fit it in a Z7 sized body, this camera would disrupt the market for sure.
