https://tilta.com/2018/10/29/first-look-at-the-camera-cage-for-bmpcc-4k/ Tilta have a lot of accessories coming out

I saw somewhere that the base kit is 69usd but I assume that's only the half cage

BM fixed the battery door issue. No issues with the new one. I think it was just a replacement of the door component itself. I agree that maybe QC should have picked up on it but BM were very quick at sorting the issue.
-
btw I RMA'd my pocket 4k because of the battery door and they fixed it, all working well now. They fixed and shipped back the same day.

The first 0.64x metabones I had was very loose camera side but when I bought a replacement one, it had a gasket on the back and was much tighter. no issues so far on my Gh5 or Pocket 4k. It's disappointing how hit-or-miss metabones tolerances seem to be, especially for the price of the adapter. I also had to adjust infinity focus on all 3 metabones adapters I've had previously.

My T5 Is working great. Make sure to use the included USBC cable with the T5 because other cables have issues. I previously stated I can record 4k lossless 50p on the T5... well after more testing, it drops frames after 24 seconds. so not great for longer recordings.

Yeah its no big deal, Ive just removed it for now.
-
Ive had no issues with the batteries getting suck. Im only using official Canon LPE6 batteries. That seems like a much worse problem to have. since the battery door is a seperate unit, I would hope that they can just send out a replacement part.
-
Thanks helium. I don't think its clicking into place fully. ill see what BM say about it. Im hoping that BM can send out a replacement battery door.
-
The door can be easily removed. Pressure near the lock can tigger the door to open. Its entirely possible at this point that im being stupid. Please excuse the background noise. I left it in so you can hear the sound of the battery door.
-
So the battery is held in by a seperate latch and im confident it won't fall out but the door latch is poorly designed and opens on its own frequently. unless im missing something obvious with the latch mechanism.
-
So I received the Pocket 4k today. yet to do proper tests but I've had a quick play and the files look decent. What surprised me the most however is that I'm able to record 4k 50p Lossless raw to my Samsung T5 500gb drive. didn't expect that. The only downside so far is the battery door. It opens by itself waaayy to often.

I ordered on the 9/4/18 at 19:10

Just got my order allocation at CVP

A few people over at bmcuser are complaining that batteries are getting stuck inside the P4k

Ive never used a true horizon head but I've had a lot of experience with glidecams. There is quite a big learning curve so if you plan on operating, I'd recommend getting some practice before using it on a shoot. Also a vest and arm system makes operation over long periods much easier.

Yeah cameras coming into the UK seems very slow.
-
Just a heads up guys, Amazon UK has Samsung T5 drives on sale. Im still undecided on the media ill be using yet.
-
Ive just bought 4 Canon LPe6 batteries but with a majority of the long form stuff I shoot, we are use lights and an audio recorder anyway so Ill just plug the camera into the wall.
-
I ordered at 19:10 (UK time) and CVP told me that my order falls within the first 20. They also don't know when they will get another shipment. BM should of just said it was a October release then we would all be praising that they managed to get 1 or 2 out in September
-
CVP still don't know when they get another delivery.
-
It does wonders for faces, makes them much more flattering
-
Yeah I'm keeping my Gh5 alongside it for a while as a backup cam until im confident it won't fail. Saying that, I would do that with any new camera for paid work
