Nobody knows exactly how current speedboosters will perform with the pocket 4k. It's likely that the ultra and XL will work just fine, but we'll have to see.
-
With that much money in glass why cheap on out the adapter? Just get the speed booster XL and be done with it.
-
Noise and DCI 4K
-
It has a nice threaded mounting point on top for a selfie monitor.
-
Looks solid. Very intrigued by the concept.

There is a big difference between Canon's cinema line and the SLR cameras.
-
If that happens I'll eat my shoe.
-
No problem, as I said I'm not focused on video with my comments, more the overall tech. The a7 shoots 10 (full frame) fps, has 693 phase detect points, eye af etc etc. They are going for the throat of Nikon and Canon with that camera. I'm saying that they WILL go for Panasonic.
-
Go look at the a73 vs the competition. Price and features it really is aiming for the kill. I'm not focusing on video features, but tech in general. Fully agreed here. Everytime I touch my friends a7r2 I get angry. Sony ergonomics are such garbage.
-
Because Sony has been showing that they will push tech down quickly to gain marketshare. Panasonic is leading the way right now, but I'm guessing Sony will make the jump first to steal userbase. I hope I'm wrong and they all add it into their range, but we'll see.
-
I'm betting we won't see that for at least a few more years. If someone does it, I'm betting it will be Sony...they will also likely jack the price up on that camera significantly.
-
I haven't seen that anywhere, is there a source? BM site says you can charge via usb-c but nothing about the camera being on or off.
-
1. Amazing. You can get some very affordable and fast usb-c SSD drives. Three options to record is pretty great. 2. Not for me. See point above. 3. I'm hoping you can use something like an Anker powercore through USB-C. I'd be satisfied with that plus a few LP-E6s.

I'd love to stop talking about what materials Canon cameras are made of and if resolve should or shouldn't be included. Seriously.
-
Seriously, do you not understand how business works? What do you think the scale of value is for camera parts vs a resolve license? Obviously BM wants people using their software but if you really think this is anyway screwing people over you are kidding yourself. The value of the software is insignificant for them vs hardware cost of the camera.
-
lol, Jesus. How is this even comparable to cable? I'm willing to bet a large portion of people buying this camera don't own a studio license for Resolve. I'm blown away that people are complaining about a company throwing in $300 software with a camera that will likely compete with cameras costing 3-4 times as much.
-
Honestly, at $1300...who cares. BM is trying to get more people into the resolve ecosystem and as others have said it isn't actually a cost for them at this point to include the software.
-
Personally, I will find improved color gradation and highlight rolloff more noticeable. I can't say that for everyone... Arri is definitely the king for image as far as I am concerned, however, we are talking the difference between a Toyota and a Ferrari. If we can get 95% of the way there with the BM I'll be stoked. This can actually work as a response to both of your posts: If we get that amount of resolution with significantly improved dynamic range and color information I will be very pleased. If they really are using the same sensor I think our chances are good.
-
I'll take color and recoverable information over pure resolution any day.
-
I think that is very likely considering how USB-C functions.
-
Where did you see actual sensor specs?
-
And if they do that I'm completely uninterested. That is likely what we will see.
-
Give me a m43 sensor/mount with similar or better performance to the original pocket and I'm in.
-
Apparently one equals many.
