Yeah, it's the big one. Most of them feature those distinct green focusing marks, whereas the smaller ones don't. Here are some pictures of how do the small Ultra Stars look like: My Ultra Star looked like this: As I said, notice the focusing marks - they are unicolored.

Yup, these are fantastic. Blacks are black and neutral (just the way I like it), but there is still a lot of detail in the shadows. Skin tones look superb. Since you are already grading it, I assume you finished cutting it? When do you plan on releasing it? Can we count on some shooting and editing first-hand experience?

I believe I've had a chance to own one of many rebranded versions of this Tokina - Vivitar 19-35 mm f/3.5 - 4.5 Series 1. And I must admit it's one of the lenses I regret selling. Build quality was horrible, handling was cumbersome. But, man, the images coming out of it were gorgeous (at least to my eyes, hahaha). Here are some photos I took with it and a7 III: (FYI, the B&W photo depicts Gdańsk Town Hall, whereas the last two show Malbork Castle). As a matter of fact, right now I'm eyeing another copy of it and most likely I'll end up buying it.

I use Zhongyi Lens Turbo II, but with EF mount. Am very happy with it, every lens works great. They offer a great variety of mounts to choose from, Canon FD included, but it may take you some time to find it.

I second everything. And would like to add this: lighting with intention does not mean you have to buy a lot of gear. Many household items will do just fine unless you try to overpower the sun. The key is to learn how to control the light you already have in your scene, so that you can augment specific parts in your frame, making them pop. Don't fall into the bottomless pit of camera specifications, settings, etc. Think more like a painter.

Nah, not buying any new cameras this year. I'm sticking with what I have. I'm fully aware that getting a newly released body would mean upgrading my PC as well, since it already struggles with 4K 10 bit files. Ain't nobody got money for that! Maybe I'll invest just a little bit into lighting gear: some reflectors, a softbox, a key light - a bare necessities for paid interview / corpo jobs. It's high time I began unleashing the true potential of my gear.

How could I have known that the aforementioned partner was male, hahaha? I though he was a she! But I'm not judging! Just keep doing what makes you and those around you happy.

Don't mention it. Good for you! Don't get discouraged, just take a little time to do some more research. ( : Anamorphic shooting is fun, but requires a lot of patience.

Every part of the whole setup contributes to vignetting. But I'd posit that ISCO has the least impact on it. Single focus solution definitely plays a bigger part here. I know FVD-35A costs a lot, that it's bulky, etc. - but it's your best bet if you want to go wider. It's also a good time to ask yourself if you really need to. Kowa B&H allows to use shorter focal lengths without vignetting - but it's difficult to buy one in a good shape and pay less than 1000$. Eventually, if everything above fails / does not fit your budget, you can try shortening ISCO by having it cut with a lathe. This will enable you to put FVD-16A a bit closer to ISCO's front glass and may help with vignetting. I wouldn't expect wonders, though. Have you considered going anamorfake for this particular shot?
-
Weight, length - your setup immediately looks like a bazooka. Since it's longer, it'll give you more vignette. The smaller ISCO may give vignette-free image with a ~70 / 75 mm lens on a full frame camera, whereas the bigger one might require longer focal lengths - I'd say ~90 mm. BUT, the biggest trouble here is minimum focus distance. You won't be able to focus it closer than 5 m, unless you use diopters (which will be very difficult to find in these sizes). And when it comes to variable diopters (aka single focus solutions), the only one you could use with anamorphic adapter like this is FVD-35A, which is huge, to say the least. Not only it weighs 1.1 kg, but costs 1200$. To sum up: I'm happy that you managed to win the auction, but the lens itself is very impractical.

Awww, this lens alone makes me sad I jumped ships and got a Fuji. I know, I know - I can get it in Leica M mount and then use an adapter to Fuji. The thing is - even if I did so, I wouldn't get that fabulous 40 mm FOV (FF EQV) on X-T3, which I really long for.. Just take a look at these photos: https://phillipreeve.net/blog/lenses-in-the-field-part-1-out-in-nature-with-the-voigtlander-40mm-f1-2/

@androidlad, it's probably a lost cause already, but is Fuji considering implementing VFR to their cameras at any point in time? Just like it is in GH5.

Same sensor means there won't be any noticeable bump in dynamic range in video, right?

Well, e-infinity is a grey market site.. I wouldn't really consider it as a good indicator of best selling cameras. IMHO, it rather shows which users tend to support tax evasions and other trickery only to save a couple of bucks.. Taking a look at B&H mirrorless top sellers clearly shows that Sony is doing good, but so is Canon, Nikon (!) and Fuji. What's more, FF cameras are as popular as their smaller APS-C brothers. Or the other way around. APS-C was pronounced dead many times, but it's still rocking on. And I hope it will for a long, long time.

You're doing this wrong. Having anything stuffed in a some sort of pita won't be nowhere near as stable as this: See that? Everything in its own place, organized. No jello effects.

@Tito Ferradans made his version, too! Though, it's very nice to have a different POV. The more you see how it should be done, the less you improvise while having bare glass elements in your hands.

So, the video goes for 8 minutes and provides us with only 30 seconds of actual footage? C'mon, I'm here to see how those cine lenses perform, not to look at your iPhone 34 XXL Pro Hype Max Ultra vlog.

Key Light (Bowens Mount) Less Expensive Than Apurture?
heart0less replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
Gerald has just posted a review about Sokani X60. To sum up: it's more powerful and feels sturdier than Godox SL-60W, though it's still quite noisy (unfortunately, he didn't include any loudness comparison) and can be powered only via AC. 169$ -

A 15MP Sony Mirrorless Camera will be Announced Soon

After the disruption A7 III caused, Sony really slowed down with being innovative and offering breakthrough specs, so I wouldn't be too surprised if the info provided by androidlad proved to be true. Just take a look at a6x00 series. The only thing superior to Fuji X-T30 / X-T3 is that Sony offers IBIS and has better AF. -
My bad, I didn't notice it. 🤦♂️

Too contrasty and washed out, IMHO. It lacks the subtlety and gorgeous color vibrance of GHAlex.
