Maybe AI upscaling is the answer? Haven't tested it personally, but it looks like pure magic.

Nice one, great job. Keep them coming, we'll surely appreciate them. Next time be sure to post it in 'Shooting and footage' subforum, we need to liven it up. ( :

Great job, I learnt a few cool tricks from this video. And I've already shared it in another thread - I'm sorry! @kye managed to post a short analysis of it, too. May I ask how did you come up with this neat halation technique? I used to rely on Resolve's "Edge Detect" OFX plugin every since I read about it on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/colorists/comments/9msxow/film_halation/?ref_source=embed&ref=share All thanks to you, as well!

I was a bit late to the whole photo- and videography party, so at the time I was picking up my first camera, GH4 was already available. So was Resolve, Canon ML, Sony A7S, etc. None of these were considered by me as groundbreaking, since I simply didn't realize what people had to struggle with before. That's why I'll refrain from choosing anything video related, simply because I don't think I'd be objective. BUT, my nomination goes to... SanDisk Sansa Clip+ This little bugger has been with me for almost a decade, day in, day out. Hasn't failed me, yet. And you know what? Even after all these years, nothing can surpass it. People still can't find any DAP (Digital Audio Player) that could be called its rightful heir. It plays everything I throw at it. Battery lasts for over 20 hours, still. I can clip it to my belt loop or keep it in any of my pockets. Operating it doesn't require looking - almost if I was typing a text with Nokia 3310 - pure muscle memory. And the memory card I use it with (128GB microSD) cost more than the player itself. It's madness. *Yeah, I may be a millennial, but I'm not going to listen to music on my phone anytime soon. Who ever thought it'd be comfortable? And wireless earbuds? Nah, plug me (and my 3.5 mm jack) in.*

Nah, unfortunately it's still too heavy. I wouldn't feel comfortable / safe to use it without rails. The lightest way to go is Aivascope paired with Focuser-8, but you'd only get a 1.5x strech with it. Looks like this (not my photos):

Key Light (Bowens Mount) Less Expensive Than Apurture?
heart0less replied to Mark Romero 2's topic in Cameras
There is SLB-60W that uses Li-On battery, but: - it costs 299$, - the battery itself (if you wanted to have some spares) costs 159 freaking US dollars, - it lasts for ~60 minutes. Whereas NP-F batteries can power almost anything (external monitors - check, small LED panels - check, some extra juice for your camera - check) and are easy to obtain (I bet most people in the industry have at least a few NP-Fs in their storage). -
Key Light (Bowens Mount) Less Expensive Than Apurture?

Please, keep us updated! I can't find any reliable opinion about this light, but have to admit it seems like a great choice. -
Here is a short spec ad done by Matteo Bertoli using P6K, Leica R lenses and 1/8 Pro Mist. And, my god, does this look fabulous!

This one seems pretty nice, but I have my doubts about it. It's more of a look LUT than a proper conversion LUT. https://sellfy.com/p/lhny3g/

Sage already answered that. That could be done; granted it wouldn't be tailored to the sensor. I'd like to support it directly, and I think there may be some rental options that would make that feasible.
-
And to you, as well! ?

Before watching this, I was quite sceptical about the lens. A lot of fuss, IndieGoGo, many popular YouTubers involved, etc. I don't really appreciate campaigns like this. But @Tito Ferradans managed to convert me. ( : Great job!

@Anaconda_, I use only manual lenses, so I'm not able to help you. /: Found this video today. Really dig the look, the majority of the shots look simply gorgeous.

You're welcome. Be sure to ask the seller for sample pictures taken with the exact copy you'll be getting, because there is some slight variance in quantity of flares and their color.
-
I own both. There is no better or worse, everything is very subjective and mostly depends on what you are looking for. I prefer Schneider Cinelux, since I love the way it flares. My copy has purplish / amber coatings and it really shows in the image. ISCO's flares are subdued and almost invisible, so if you want a modern look without any optical abberations - it's a good choice. Both are equally sharp and contrasty. Cinelux is a little bit heavier and bigger.

I think it's safe to assume that it's the one, though I'm not 100% sure. Never heard of 'anamoprime' before. Just some sample photos from Daniel Cai taken with the abovementioned Sankor. He shared them in his sale post on Anamorphic Shooters. His asking price was 475$ and he listed it only today, but I suppose it's already sold. 55 mm on APS-C camera is still quite good result, if we're talking about full 3:2 coverage. I, myself, am not able to achieve that. +1 I agree completely.
-
@mercer This sample shot was taken with Sankor Type-5E, which is believed to share the same optics as Kowa 16-H / B&H, etc - meaning: you can't go any wider. No single focus diopter. Both lenses (Helios and Sankor) set to infinity. Courtesy of Daniel Cai: My dear god, these stills look fantastic.. The post you linked looks more like 55 mm on an APS-C sensor to me.

Is there any way to lock the alignment? Many reviews and test footage suffer from misalignment and I'm wondering whether it's due to loose mount or is it a design flaw. Could you compare it to anamorphic adapters?

Actually, it's the other way around. It's supposed to show the results in 35mm EQV. I was never a fan of FOV angle, to be honest. Thanks! I've been using it for some time now, so it's not that I made it right here, on the spot. (( :
