Yup, this is exactly what I was referring to. Whites aren't truly white, blacks don't reach black levels. You can also notice a slight teal/orange shift in those. Ouch. I'm far from stating I don't like Nikon colors (I do, actually). I just don't like this specific grade. And I believe anyone can shoot great things with any camera (be it GH5, A7S, Nikon Z6, T2i, etc.), when proper preparations are made and when one knows their gear - just take a look at <200$ EOSHD challenge. Some shots are underexposed, IMHO. 0:05 - 0:11, 0:19 - 0:25, 0:29 - 0:33, 0:46 - 0:47 The shot that really appeal to me is: 0:26 - 0:29

To be honest, it doesn't appear as 'full and deep', at least to my eyes. Teal & orange LUT, faded blacks and whites - just another 'cinematic look AD 2018' A little of WB and exposure issues. I did like some shots, though. But let us get back to the topic - lenses.
  3. It's so smooth! I wonder what did you use to stabilize it. Don't tell, let me analyze it. ( :

Oh my God, I'm terrified by how Lomo spherical lenses can change the appearance of the subject. Jokes aside, Rokinon / aka Samyang would look really nice if it wasn't for the busy bokeh it gave.

Couldn't agree more. Right now I'm browsing through a ton of free (or public domain) stock footage and almost all the shots I like come from ~WW II or 1960s. They are more detailed, more flexible, more good loking than anything shot at the beginning of 21th century. Really recommend taking a look at pond5's The Public Domain Project (https://www.pond5.com/free)

The funny thing is Helios is also one of the most beloved lenses chosen to shoot anamorphic. It's perfectly imperfect and organic.

mercer, did you mean unlikely? ? And hey, it's not a sub-forum per se. This thread is the first thread you see in a general discussion section. Sure, it can't compete with BMPCC4K topic, but I still think it's pretty popular.

And here I am voting for B. To each their own, I guess. ( :
  9. Soo.. Most likely it won't fit. Due to this little hook.
  10. This one was shot with BMPCC4K, Helios 44 and Hypergonar S. T. O. P. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=381338402710980&id=196512047679611&refid=18&ref=content_filter&__tn__=*s-R Another one from BMPCC4K and Helios. This time Elmoscope II was used: Even though I'm not a big fan of Facebook groups, I have to admit that Anamorphic Shooters group (apart from everyday 'just showing how my gear looks like' posts) is a great source of knowledge and inspiration.
  11. Does anyone know if X-T2 cage would fit X-T3? I do realize that X-T3 is not listed as compatible and that smallrig released a new design that supposedly fits both X-T2 and X-T3, but at the same time I know that many companies are known to slightly alter older designs without changing much, call it 'brand new design' only to sell something again and again. https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-fuji-x-t2-cage-for-fujifilm-x-t2-camera-1881.html This cage can be bought for ~25$, whereas a X-T3 cage costs ~85$. I asked one of the resellers the exact same question and he stated that: "cable clamp ports will be blocked with XT-3" He offered me a 7% discount on a new model, as well. ( :

That's how it is these days. One could shot a video like this, include much more sample footage, give a succint summary and end it on 6 minutes mark. But if you want to get paid by YouTube, then you blah, blah, blah, blah, without further ado, blah, blah, blah, okay - is it 10 minutes already? - blah, blah, blah, blah, cinematic b-roll, blah, blah, blah, blah, buy my LUTs / presets, blah, blah, blah, remember to subscribe and like this video.
  13. This may prove to be of some use to you. Fuji cable release.
  14. Oh, c'mon.. Can't you see this big, fat banner underneath your post? Just kidding. ( : Thanks for the post! I feel you and can wholeheartedly assure you, that you're not alone in this solo-shooter struggle. We just have to keep shooting and learn from mistakes / experience.
  15. This may be of interest to you, guys: Though I'm not sure, if it needs to be fixed, in the first place.
  16. You can either multiply 1080 * 1.33 and get 1920x1436 or divide 1920 / 1.33 and get 1443x1080. It just depends on whether you want to stretch or shrink your pixels. BUT, if I were you, I would put the camera sideways and then use 2x scope normally. This would give you 2160 x 1920 or 1080 x 960 Remember that an anamorphic adapter in a sideway position will give you vertical flares like this: (still extracted from: https://vimeo.com/326643814)
  17. My main question is: where, the heck, is a6700? At the beginning of the year, Sony claimed APS-C is not dead, that they would release a new 'enthusiast' APS-C model and that they were going to focus on APS-C area (meaning: more lenses). Turns out that releasing compact cameras and FF bodies is much more profitable..

Yup, that's correct. And at the same time you get a whole lot of sexy distortion and (not so sexy, since they're usually colored green) flares. All that for ~35 $, if you decide to get some Chinese knock-offs like this: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/SNn5fes A lot of folks from Anamorphic Shooters Facebook group bought the lens I linked above and are very happy with it, even when compared to OG Moment / Moondog solutions.

Your horizontal FOV gets wider (usually 1.33 times [hence 1.33x in the name]), while vertical FOV stays the same.
  20. It's called moire. http://www.xdcam-user.com/old-stuff/aliasing-and-moire-what-is-it-and-what-can-be-done-about-it/ Nothing to worry about, everything is fine with your gear. But why did you decide to post this question in an anamorphic subforum?
