It's just magic (aka motion cadence). ?
-
Yes, yes, yes!

I just wonder how many of these minor things (like 1:1 ratio, AWB lock) that can't be justified by a9 processing power will be included in a7/a7R III update. Knowing Sony, none of them.
-
Here is one of them: Jelly and jitter all over the place.

Samyang 12/2 would be the best choice, but it's either FX-mount or M43. I'm not sure, if one can adapt one mount to the other.

Replicating 'big camera' feel with small camera

From 1:45. It's nice to see how pro DPs tackle this issue. -
Nikon Z6 / Z7 to go RAW with Atomos Ninja V - could Panasonic be next?

It's a shame Sony doesn't introduce any new features in firmware updates, though. You get what you see, nothing more. -
Maybe this thread will help you: https://www.photo.net/discuss/threads/yellowish-cast-looking-through-35mmf1-4.60894/

My setup looks like this: I used a lens collar to secure the ISCO in place, and then screwed it into a baseplate from aliexpress, which allows me to change the height. Here is the link to the baseplate: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/b9fcKPHR (pictures show a version with plastic knobs, but in the end I got metal ones; quality is okay)

Some shots with the ridicously impractical LOMO 35-NAP2-3M

Glad you like it! I paid ~50 $ (that's right, fifty USD) for the lens itself, 24$ for the helicoid and 8$ for macro tubes. I think it's a really good deal, isn't it? ( : Haha, I wish! These things are really hard to get in Poland, to be honest. If I wanted to soften the image a little, I think I'd use an actual stocking instead. ? Thanks!

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. You just have to adjust it so you can focus at infinity when the helicoid is not expanded and voila! ( :

As some of you may know, I've been on a lookout for a 75mm lens. I almost bought Voigtalnder 75/1.8 Classic, when I thought: hey, if you already use anamorphic adapter that was not meant for cameras at all, why not try to adapt a projection lens, as well? So I did some research and concluded that some modern German optics (Schneider Kreuznach / ISCO) would be the best choice for me. Fortunately, there was a Schneider Kreuznach 75/2 Super listed on eBay. I pulled the trigger and bought it. Here is the funny thing: normally these are attached to the backs of anamorphics. Mine copy was detached from Schneider Cinelux ES 2x With help of my soon-to-be enginneer friend we adapted it to Sony E mount using M42 macro extension tube, M42→NEX Fotasy Helicoid, 3D printed part and a bit of glue. I'm really happy with the results. The image is detailed, bokeh is smooth and pleasing to look at. It needs some contrast and saturation boost in post, though. Thanks to the helicoid, focusing is really smooth and precise. (Bought it from RainbowImaging on eBay, really recommend them, since I got my order just in 2 working days, which is unbelievable, considering they had to ship it from NY to Poland) It covers full frame without any additional crop. With red ISCO Ultra Star I get some soft vignetting in the corners in photo mode (you can judge it by yourself looking at the images; no cropping involved), but I normally add vignetting in post, so it doesn't bother me. The only downside is the fact that there is no aperture. It's fixed at f/2, so the depth of field is a little narrow. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Cheers! Kudos to Mike Lee (http://www.mike-lee.org/scripts/camera/main.htm) whose articles inspired me and resolved many of my doubts. Normally, this little feller looks like this:

The widest I managed to go on FF with 2x scope is 58 mm. Still, it only works in video mode and after cropping out the sides to get 2.39:1 ratio. I use ISCO Ultra Star (the red one), Helios 44-4 (with some front elements unscrewed to be able to bring the anamorphic even closer to the glass) and SLR Magic Rangefinder. Will post some samples after I successfully rig this up.
-
The front element is too recessed and this may result in vignetting if I put an anamorphic adapter in front of it. Thanks for trying, though.
-
Looks good! What glass did you use?
-
This would be a perfect solution, if not for the anamorphic adapter. ? I'm afraid it won't work as good as it should; too much glass, too many variables. Forgot about it! From what I've read, it's an amazing lens, though a bit pricey. Hard to get in my region, as well - not many Pentax users here. Definitely will keep it in mind, thank you. ?

I'm on a lookout for a prime lens between 65 - 75mm, which covers full frame image, to pair with an anamorphic adapter. Some legacy glass would be nice, since I don't want to break the bank. Unfortunately, 85mm doesn't cut it for me, I already have Nikon E 100/2.8 and am looking for something to fill the gap between it and Helios 58/2, which vignettes just a little. The ones I know of are: Voigtlander Macro 65/2 , Leica 70/2.5 , Voigtlander 75/1.8, Voigtlander 75/2.5 and some medium format lenses: Mamiya 645 70/2.8 , Nikkor P (for Bronica) 75/2.8, Zenzanon 75/2.8 Did I miss something? Is there something you can recommend?
