  1. Are we going to start every single day this way now? ( :
  2. Thank you! I've never eaten grits, adding it to my 'things you must try' list. Sounds yummy! Shame that every little store is closed (only the big ones like Lidl, Aldi, etc. work normally), since I won't be able to get in a supermarket here. ) :
  3. It's quite funny, because a simple Hollywood movie "Contagion" (dir. by Steven Soderbergh) already showed it in 2011. SPOILERS AHEAD A single bat captured in a remote Chinese village, killed by some Hong Kong cook, who didn't wash his hands after preparing a dish with it - that's how the whole plot starts (actually ends, since its revealed at the end of the movie). SPOILERS END They didn't get the symptoms right, but it's very unsettling to see how many things about 21st century pandemic were actually spot-on..
  4. Alright, people, here is my take. Shot all by myself since no-one was keen to help me. ) : Lighting was quite simple, I only used already existing fixtures and modified them with some tape / baking paper to add warmth. X-T3 , Helios and DIY anamorphic.
  5. Noooo, anywhere I go, the yellow rabbit tends to follow me.. It looks quite good actually. Was it shot wide open? Vignetting is very minimal, micro contrast is definitely there, bokeh seems quite calm.
  6. You may have missed this, but not so long ago I suggested that we do something creative with the time on our hands and come up with this: It's not that far off from your video, actually. Great minds think alike! *This yellow rabbit will haunt me to the end of my days and it's your fault @noone. 😂 * Awww, fog / haze is one of the next tools I'd like to get acquainted with, it adds a lot of depth to the shot. How did you fog it? With some atmosphere in a can or a rather professional fog machine?
  7. This is a good idea for a reel, actually. Dig the lighting in the opening scene - as simple as that, but makes the globe and your daughter really pop out. Solidarity and empathy - that's what we need.
  8. Exactly. According to https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/median-age/, Germany has even higher median age than Italy, so I guess their low mortality must come from the way they handle patients.
  9. Man, does he know how to frame! He clearly didn't like the first shot, hahaha.
  10. It was shot in 2014, actually. XD And involved meticulous visual effects to clear out the streets, even though most of the shots were taken during lazy periods. BTS: https://vimeo.com/100021445 Nevertheless, it's a great video. One of the most cinematic skateboarding shorts I've ever seen - well thought out, subtle and very pleasing to look at.
  11. Awww, that was so cute! Great job. Hopefully I'll record my entry tonight. The best currency possible, one of the most stable ones, too. ( :
  12. Some update from Matteo regarding Sigma 18-35/1.8 vs Leica Rs: Interesting points, don't you agree? And a short YT video showcasing what he achieved with BMPCC6K and aforementioned Sigma: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0-gJoGk338
  13. These are my dream lenses, seriously. Who knows, maybe in 10 years time I'll be able to indulge myself..
  14. I don't see any reason why would it have to be limited to narrative. Shoot what you can, what you feel is right with you.
  15. What about people who aren't registered here?
  16. It's quite funny that the majority of lenses we own are at least 25 years old. No Sigma Arts, no Sony G-Masters. Good optics are truly timeless and often breathe some life into the soulless digital sensors. My plans haven't really changed since last year - I'm still waiting for Viltrox to release their f/1.4 primes trio for Fuji (that were supposed to ship last December, lol). Especially for 23/1.4, though I might give 56/1.4 some thought, too. And in the nearest future I'm going to get an Olympus OM 75-150/4 due to its parfocal abilities and the fact that it doesn't change its size during zooming. Might come in handy.
  17. Yes, that's true, unfortunately. Your weekly upload limit is 500 MB, total limit - 5 GB. It's not set in the stone, I'm open to other means of organizing our efforts. ( :
  18. Since we'll be joined by some people from both reddit and Facebook, I created a vimeo group in which all the shorts will be collected: https://vimeo.com/groups/640313
  19. Exactly. IMHO, it was one of the biggest accomplishments of Magic Lantern. Canons back then didn't have the best dynamic range, but implementing Dual ISO to them changed that. Even now many of these videos look gorgeous, almost Alexa-like.
  20. What about directing job? Two fellow redditors said they would be joining the challenge, wooo hooo!
  21. What about letting them be the sound guys / DPs and become the stars ourselves, just for once? 😚
