Which is ok w me, as up until my last camera, I never had IS, so I am used to it.
-
Where did you get that picture?? You say "its not good for video" can you elaborate on that?
-
IS isnt huge for me, I use a Ronin or a monopod for all my shots
-
Is it a bad thing with it only being 2.8-4? My other option is getting 2 primes, the 23 and the 35 or the 35 and the 50
-
Anyone use the 16-55 vs the 18-55?

So, I have heard the BO waitlist for the P4K is mid-next year, if I was to order it now? Are there camera companies out there who place an order and then don't charge until the item ships? I would want to get in line, but I have gigs coming up end of this year, early next that would be reaaaaaaaally nice to have the P4K for,.

Avaliable for preorder! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1438685-REG/tilta_wlc_t04_nucleus_nano_wireless_lens_control.html

So, I tried out an Xt3 last night for over an hour. Love the feel of the camera, solid and was a great piece. Video was nice. 265 was a bit of a dog to edit. Price wise, the BMPCC4k would be significantly cheaper for me. But trying to follow the thread dedicated to that camera has been frustrating with personal insults and lots of people just being shitty. So I can not tell if there are actual issues with the camera or not. That seems it might be my best option.
-
you say both, which are you comparing?
-
I am not against hybrid use though. Coworker in my office just got the Xt3 and I will be taking it through its paces today
-
Oh that is badasss!!! Wonder how well that would balance with a BMPCC4K and a bigger Rokinon DS lens...
-
I have heard that Tilta is making a follow focus for the Ronin-S. No timeframe yet. If that was a reality and sub 300$, then the BMPCC 4k would probably be a pretty good option I would assume, that if that follow focus was added, my search could open to even more cameras?

It would be awesome if the follow focus system on the Ronin worked with the BMPCC4k. Then this conversation I feel would be done pretty quick!

Hello everyone! I have a Sony a6500. I do enjoy it and love it for photos. The rolling shutter sucks donkey ass, I know and that is a major contention point for me. While I am in no dire need, my influx of video gigs has been steady and actually significantly busier than I ever expected to be, and I need an A cam. The 6500 will do well for photos and a B cam on a tripod from then on. My needs are generally this. 1. 4k60p 2. 10-Bit, 420 or 422. If someone can show me the difference, I would very much appreciate this. 3. Autofocus, as I run almost 100% of my shots on the Ronin-S. So MF lenses would be tough. 4. Dual Card slots would be nice 5. Good Color. I use Davinci and working with the Sony is usually very nice, but sometimes I feel there just isn't enough data to push what I am trying to do. What does everyone think? I do not really have a preference for FF, APSC or 4/3
-
I typically transcoded anyway to ProRes
-
but 4k on the 6300/6500 is no aliasing?
-
Man, I wish I could. I unfortunately just can't make that $$ jump currently, and I have gig's piling up.
-
Thats currently where I am at... do I go to the A7r2 or the a6500... selling my A7ii with lenses could get me to the a6500+18-105 and totally break even....

For some reason, I can not edit my last post, but I wanted to put out a list of cameras that have caught my eye, and see what you guys all think of them. Especially toward lower-light concerts, 4k quality, and alias/moire... unfortunately Adorama and B&H are only willing to give me 500$ for my mint A7M2 so my options 1. Sony A6500 2. Panasonic gh4 - love to go gh5s, out of budget and these used on B&H and Adorama would allow me to get a lens or two.. 3 Sony A7RII - this is at the limit of my budget sadly
-
How do guys feel about the A7R2? I like my E-Mount lenses...
-
That's what I am feeling as well. the photos that come out of the A7II are so good. I know I, as well as my darling wife would not want to lose that!
-
I have heard mixed reviews on those. Im sure they can be fixed with Firmware updates.

Hi Guys. Pretty new here, but getting heavily involved in the video side again after working professionally as an audio engineer for the last decade. Major studios and big names and blah blah blah... I have an A7II, which has served me super well for photos and stills but for video has always been "OK" for video. I do mostly documentary style sit down stuff for clients in the audio world. Lately, I have gotten some pretty good gigs doing live-shows in the city I live in, and I have been using a gimbal, external monitor and the whole rig has been great! Except in the low light environments of the clubs and venues have made the aliasing of the camera EXTREMELY apparent... In my usual controlled environments, I do not experience it at all. However, in these run-and-gun situations and LED-lit scenarios, this camera has been falling apart. I am in need of a new camera, doesn't need to be Sony, as I would be up to selling my A7M2 and all the lenses anyway. I would want 4K, high-bitrate (10 bit preferred,8 is OK) low-light compatible. Does anyone have any ideas? seems like there is a lot on the market.and I am not sure where to look. Thanks!!

New EOSHD Pro Color 3.0 and EOSHD Pro LOG comes to Sony cameras
DanielVranic replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Hey guys, so I am still not fully happy with the color I got, could someone help out with this? Link is below, the ProCinema looked fine, that is the only one graded. All shot on A7II
