  1. maybe bc for the vast majority of us, its a buggy/crashing nightmare.
  2. Also selling my FS5 which will make up for the bulk of it lol
  3. I switched to Resolve Studio earlier this year or late 2018, still use Photoshop/Lightroom. Once I find something better for editing photos I can leave Adobe CC Jail.
  4. I do pretty well, once you try a smaller chip camcorder for event its so hard to switch back. It just makes everything so easy. The CX350 is cheaper than than the XF705 and the Sony z280 doesn't do 120fps. So its really my only option atm.
  5. I think its a dank little camera. If I was in the market for a cheap cinema I would totally pick it over the pocket 4k. Being a sports person I love having those higher frame rates.
  6. Why not just make your own camera? Unless Panasonic adds dpaf I don't expect any manuafactor to have this perfect camera you've been ranting about. Sony just like every other "camera brand" knows their target market, clearly better than we do.
  7. And I realize this, in a about a month I'm switching to a CX350 for my video body. Panasonic is king of the hill arm for video. I know when to jump ship, I did the same when I moved from Canon to Sony.
  8. If I do go off to college this will probably be my vlogging camera ? Your not gonna get 4K 60 with a pocketable camera that has a 1 inch sensor.
  9. This is why ALL videographers should have decent manual focusing skills regardless of what camera system they use.
  10. Its not the camera its the system, With its price point its an entry level luxury camera system - ALL of the lenses are hilariously priced (must be a leica tax) Besides autofocus - The S1 is the best mirrorless camera on the market for video, but its the L mount system that is currently holding it back.
  11. Well lets see... dual card slots might be the thing that saves your ass if card 1 manages to fail A brighter sharper evf will make manually focusing easier, the best lenses in the world are still manual focus only higher fps gives a better chance of getting "the shot" this is big for anyone that does sports, you just have more to pick one when it comes time to cull high res allows you to crop in even more with less noticeable detail loss.. more native lenses gives more creative choices in what you can shoot. Remember back in 2013 when Sony had like 4 full frame lenses?? If all this doesn't matter, then what happens if/when the next gen Z6/Z7 have dual card slots, an even better EVF, faster burst rate, and higher res sensors???
  12. @kye as you know I shoot sports, we've had a bunch of conversations about this. From 2016 till about a few months ago I was like exclusively autofocus only cause the a6300 did it so well. Since I bought the FS5 about a month or so ago ive been for the most manual focus only and i'm starting to like it even more than AF. I think what really makes a difference is the lenses your using, my Sony 70 300 FE aka my daily driver is focus by wire and absolute ass for manual focus (I found this out the hard when I tried to shoot a game with it), but all my vintage lenses (both primes and zooms) make manual focus a breeze. So far ive found with a manual lens that has a decent focus throw, as long as you can see the screen clearly - all it takes is some focus peaking a little confidence.
  13. I prefer Dropbox, its just what most of my clients are familiar with.
  14. If Sony killed off the A7s line it would also hurt the XDCAM line and eventually the Cinealta line. By having these segments it keeps people committed to the system. (i.e a person can take a path from an old a6000 to an a7 body, to an FS body) For me its step up to FS7 or sell all my e mount glass to get into L Mount/EVA 1. At the moment I think Panasonic is trying to do the same thing Canon and Sony already have in place, with tiers of cameras sharing the same lens mount and similar specs.
  15. If it was a blind test I would guessed it was shot on something far more expensive. So I meant "good"
  16. ngl your really tempting me with that FS7, once I get some money together i'll sell my FS5 and probably upgrade to it. ?
  17. Here's about the best I could do, took around 5 mins. most of which was opening it up in camera raw, then Photoshop, then exporting as a jpeg and bringing it into resolve. However this test was clearly botched af my cousin shoots fashion on an old A7ii and he can make skin look pretty good imo https://www.anthonyjudge.com/cream-collection This was around 175 shots but only 6 made it into the magazine. I plan to film his next big shoot, so atleast then I can see how the a7ii's color will compare to my FS5's. I'm no photographer but 700 shots from a portrait session with a single model is asinine, unless its your girlfriend/wife. I'm getting more into Slog 2 now, unlike the Sony alpha cameras WB in slog2/3 is locked to 3 presets, 3200, 4400, and 5500K I believe. Alister C said its bc " The main reason is to ensure you get the cameras full dynamic range in each colour." I wonder why Alpha bodies don't lock the WB.
