  1. Its not the higher end stuff like 5D line and the new RF line that bring in the serious cash. Its the low end consumer cameras like the t5 (1200d), t6 (1300d), and 4000d that keep canon at the no.1 spot. Which that $300 - $500 price point/market is drastically dying out to smartphones with great cameras like the IPhone 10 and Pixel 3.
  2. I switched from Canon in 2016. However your argument is legit just a product of what happens when your favorite company can release a product and no matter how good (1DXmkii) or bad it is (6Dmkii/EOSRP) they will sell and boatload of them. Exact same thing with Apple and Apple Products. Why pay more for product R&D when the majority of the user base is totally fine with current spec listing. Its really only the YouTubers and a handful of prosumers that are fed up with canon.
  3. honestly sounds over powered if you ask me lol
  4. Thats something im looking into, FS5/FS7 has a center scan mode which is around 16mm. With that I can run a B4 mount adapter and lens.
  5. Fujinon ZK 85-300mm T2.9-4.0 with the Servo Motor would be just amazing, However at $32,000 + tax - a man can dream.
  6. @kye Ive actually considered picking up the Canon FD 200mm F4. I own an FD 135mm F2.8 and its pretty good, just not long enough for sports. Also the Canon FD 300mm F4 is on my radar. If you work on a team of shooters its more doable, like with NFL films they might have a guy manually focusing a 500, 600mm, or 800mm Prime from the sidelines. But yes sports videography is alot easier with good autofocus - my latest edit with footage I shot for the ncaa was all autofocus - A6300 + 70 300mm FE a combo ive used since summer 2016 Shooting sports at night with less contrast = focus peaking is almost useless Camcorders make sports a lotttttt easier, you can hookup a lanc controller to just about any camcorder and with that you can get remote rec, zoom, and focus(That's what I had with my Sony Z90), if you get a fancy one there are controllers with custom buttons for things like exposure. I still have this one - http://www.libecsales.com/products/remote_controls/ZFC-L.html When the FS5 comes I believe it should work with my 18 - 105 F4.
  7. @kye Definitely appreciate it! I'm just a hungry 22 year old kid. Its possibly the hyped of music. Sorta the new age going forward with sports videography vs the traditional NFL films chill slow motion edit. Most people that want to work in sports have a degree so I have to work harder to stand out. A lot of pro teams and colleges teams would rather hire someone with a college degree and an average reel than someone with an excellent reel and no degree. I've found shooting HLG is fantastic for harsh mid day game lighting. (I try to avoid LOG as much as possible).
  8. Buying it off one of my clients, $2000 which was a no brainer.
  9. Wish I could do an FS7 for that 10 bit 4K, but budget. I believe tge FS5 is the best option for sports video under the FS7/EVA 1.
  10. Just an update, Sold the Sony Z90 after a solid year and half of use. Buying an FS5 in the next few days, will report the differences.
  11. Nikon D600 kept having recalls/issues and they eventually replaced then entire thing with D610
  12. Lol I said before it even dropped this system (Panasonic S1/S1R) will not sell with its current pricing. The only brand thats able to over charge and under value is Canon.
  13. Big yikes, product Recall for Z6/Z7 users - https://www.nikonusa.com/en/service-and-support/service-advisories/technical-service-advisory-for-users-of-the-nikon-z-6-and-z-7-cameras.html?fbclid=IwAR167M4cbifFrV8L4xQaadtPAWLmscxrjSDEtakfd5nh7CdN6bTVZuBovuo
  14. His luts are made with/for Canon cameras thats why..
  15. I would avoid both if you can only afford a cheap kit lens to go with them. Better off going with a crop sensor system like XT3, A6400, Or GH5. I made this meme a few weeks ago as I see this scenario WAYYYY to often..
  16. AVX is not 2.4 or 2.5GhZ its operates at 1.9Ghz
  17. NFL films - home to the best camera operators in the world ?
  18. If your camera has dual XLR inputs you could try the Senal MC5-MS or Sony ECM MS 2
  19. From what I've learned/heard so far, nodes make more sense for more serious applications such as Hollywood blockbusters. Thats why programs like the Fusion Standalone and Autodesk flame are commonplace at the highest levels of productions compared to layer based programs like After Effects. However the layer based programs tend to be better for light effects.
  20. In theory its really a 7/8 year sensor - performance wise.
  21. I was making some memes last night and decided to make one for Resolve ?
  22. A9mkii is going be to insane. Legendary might be an understatement.
