    HLG explained

To someone like me that shoots events, mainly sports this is exactly why I love HLG. Stock profiles give me crunchy highlights and in my sector no one has time to grade log.
  2. I just upgraded from a Manfrotto 502 to the Libec RH25D which has a counterbalance range of 4 to 11lbs (1.8 to 5kg) Both of my cameras (A6300 and Z90) are underweight but fully rigged I can just pass the minium. Another add on for a bit more weight is a QR plate adapter. My new head doesn't use manfrotto 502 style PL plates so it was bound to happen for me anyways. But its a solid chunk of aluminum and wont offset your rig since your just stacking it directly on top. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YUQBOKK/ref=dp_prsubs_1

  4. Literately just the name. That's why every other Kpop Star owns one and wears them as a fashion accessory. Sorta view as a status symbol imo.
  5. I think its a sick camera, I shoot sports so I use a ton of slow motion so it makes for me, unfortunately I don't own any EF glass so its not the camera for me.
  6. I heard the movie was ass but cinematic speaking it looks awesome. Just goes to show that lighting, camera movement, and lens choice are more important than the camera itself.
  7. I think that just lens CA, remember its a $1500 camera not a $40,000 Varicam 35
  8. true old bodies are still great like the D4S, its really the glass that makes a big difference. Most Sport pros are going for a 300 2.8 not a cheap 100 - 400 zoom.
  9. Prob students. Using an Eos R at pro sporting event sounds like a nightmare.
  10. i'm about 90% sure he works for the Canon marketing department.
  11. Tbh a lens hood all you need. Only time I would ever use a lens hood would be if I'm shooting in a muddy or sandy environment.
  12. "i want the feeling of dark, and plenty of water so it feels and looks wet, and a location where, within my frame, it looks like it could be underground" Sounds a lot like a sewer..
  13. $1000 isn't a lot, maybe an AX53, AX700, or GX10
  14. Actually I'd like to see an F5 update for the legit "entry level cinema" space. Maybe something like a new sensor + Venice color + 4K 120fps internal instead of external.
  15. But we all know they wont do it, I feel like there isn't enough space in an A7 or A9 body for a ND filter module. A Tall 1DX body would be perfect for it imo.
  16. Funny thing about that photo is that NFL events are filmed with Sony Cameras, excluding the the sky-cams and pylon cameras for NFL.. The NFL Films guys who imo are probably the best Camera Operators in the world seem to usually run the Arri Amira
  17. Reading all of these traveling with gear airport horror stories is making my palms sweaty. I recently got TSA pre check as I'll be flying out for a few gigs soon. But this stuff still makes feel stressed. Best I can do is travel as light as possible and hope to not get seperated or hear the dreaded "AYE WHOS BAG IS THIS!"
  18. I actually made a thread a while back on here asking about "where are the affordable EVF's" Majority of folks that shoot video and i'm guessing on here don't have $2K to drop on a Zacuto EVF.
  19. Hmm I might pick this up, i don't really care for externally recording onto ssd's and resolve can handle Sony h.264 files well.
