Isn't the rode filmmaker kit also $350??
-
A good wake up call for everyone. As someone that shoots video for a living and consumes a lot of YT content the word "cinematic" is almost triggering at times. I encourage everyone to watch this and possibly start a discussion.
-
I agree, the final image is the most important but maybe i'm old school in believing a camera has nothing to do with creating cinematic images. Story, lighting, sound and audio, lens choice, costume, and set design is what determines if something is "cinematic" for me. But hey if the EOS R works for you, more power to you. You don't need me to justify your purchase.

tbf the only people that think the EOS R wasn't a flop is Canon shooters. Being number 2 makes sense as Canon has the largest pool of owners. The reason its number one in Japan is because of the brand name. Canon is the ONLY brand that could release the EOS R and still have it sell moderately well, imagine if the S1, A7III, or Z6 had the exact same specs as the EOS R. Its the same scenario when talking about Leica or Apple.. @ me when Canon Mirrorless is Number 1 in a large market like North America or the EU.

$350 for the basic kit with a lav https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1444563-REG/sennheiser_xsw_d_lavalier_set_lavset_me2_ii_clipon_lapel_mic_xsw_d.html might be a good alternative to the overpriced AVX system.

Olympus trying to take that biggest camera flop award away from Canon. ? MFT is dead..

Panasonic's new AG-CX350 (4k 60p in 10bit up to 400Mbps HEVC)

Thing about the DX200 is that its a massive camera, this looks a lot smaller. -

Yeah if the autofocus is as good as the Sony Z90 I'm sold. -
Specs seem really awesome and as a Sony Z90 shooter this could be next upgrade for when I'm working on documentaries and my typical sports video work. Also looks smaller than the Canon XF705 and Sony Z280 which is plus for me since I sometimes have to fly for shoots. Makes me wonder what Panasonic will do with the DVX200. https://www.redsharknews.com/production/item/6097-the-ag-cx350-panasonic-s-astonishingly-capable-new-camera

I have the ERA N denoiser plug in which works wonders. Might have to pick this one up as it looks to be an actual game changer.

Sony Cameras AF confusion / idiosyncrasies / advice
Mako Sports replied to Ki Rin's topic in Cameras

True, as a 6300 owner I hace the same questions

Main reason why I stick with Sony is because of the ecosystem. Sony is the only brand that has mirrorless apsc, full frame, super 35 video cameras, and a full frame cinema camera all with the SAME lens mount, similar features, and color science/profiles. Not to mention also having traditional fixed lens camcorders for run and gun docs and events. Fuji has no real video cameras or cinema cameras to upgrade to. Pansonic brings more to the table than probably anyone but is split between m4/3rds, ye old Canon EF mount for their video cameras and cinema cameras (varicam line) , and Now L mount whose only options are the laughably priced leica lenses. Not only is Canon is crippled beyond belief but that system has 3 lens mounts -_- EF mount, RF mount, and the unknown future of the apsc M mount... -
iirc the f3 was still way to expensive for most of us to own at the time though.

The animal eye af will be a game changer for wildlife photography
-
Its an upgraded sensor, no word on rolling shutter. If its still full sensor readout oversampled 6K video then I doubt it will have improved.
-
Yeah the af tracking looks insane. I'm not a vlogger so I'm going to wait for the a7siii/A7000 instead.
-
Thought it was an interesting comparison also the Skin tones we surprisingly close.
-
I remember before the Sony A7s dropped the og C100 was the low light king.

Tbf you can adapt the CNEs to any mirrorless lens mount.
