  1. Also they can keep playing games all they want. Its because of the name "Canon" it sells it self. Doesn't matter how terrible the product is, people are going to buy it cause its Canon. Canon is the ONLY brand that could release a camera like the 6Dmkii in 2018. Imagine the backlash if Sony, Fuji, or Panasonic released a camera with the 6dmk2 specs at $2,000. If Canon shooters want better specs then stop buying their current gen cameras.
  2. I think Canon shooters care most about ease of use/ergonomics (Flip screen and barebones menu) and good glass options? Also Canon color. I think if image quality is the most important to you, your avoiding canon stuff at this point.
  3. Great video that Max just posted, make sure to watch on a nice large screen.
  4. EVA 1 is more in line with the FS7.. both price and specs at least. Pretty overkill for weddings imo
  5. That internal variable ND is REALLY hard to pass up, even when going back to a traditional video camera with the standard 3 fixed NDs
  6. yuh $3.5K aint bad, lower than most used FS5s were going for last month on Ebay. Extremely temping for me as I shoot sports and utilize slow-motion on the regular. Would be a nice step up from my Z90 which has the same specs but its a Super 35 ILC
  7. lol I've seen their content a few times, honestly its a joke for video ppl. Also its more a photography based channel which is sort of a red flag anyways.
  8. I think the only thing the C300mkii had on the FS7 was 444 color in HD, imo not worth the extra $8,000. 4K 60 10 bit 422, up to 600mbps intraframe, 14 stops of DR, 180fps and 120fps at 1080, pro audio, NDs, and better ergonomics out of the box - the FS7 is simply the perfect documentary video camera and since I specialize in sports videography its sorta my dream camera.
  9. Seems unlikely for a brand new codec as that work and R&D was done years ago. Maybe something like XAVC IL (intraframe light) This new camera would require UHS 2 cards as UHS U3 cards top out at like 150mbps. I really don't want to deal with a bitrate above 300, overkill on cams like these at the moment and just takes up an ubsurd amount of space. If you want 600mbps buy an FS7 or used F5.. (Note - this chart is pre Venice)
  10. I consider the Varicam LT, Varicam 35, Sony F5, F55, and Venice, Ursa line, and both C700s cinema bodies (needs to be rigged for use, not ideal for a 1 man band) C100 - C300mk2, FS5, FS7, and the EVA 1 high end video cameras - ready shoot straight out of the box, all and all you need is a lens.
  11. To be fair, the EVA 1 isn't even a Cinema camera just like the Sony FS and Canon C100 - C300 line, its a high end video camera. Varicam LT and Varicam 35 are Panasonic's true cinema line cameras.
  12. I shoot sports zoomed in from the sidelines so having good AF is kinda a must for me. However all video fixed lens video cameras have lens stabilization and most tele lenses (70 200, 100 - 400mm etc) have built lens IS also. I also shoot on tripods and monopods so IBIS isn't a deal breaker for me.
  13. in a perfect world the best A camera to use with an A6500 is the Sony FS7
  14. I always say a video with bad audio is a bad video.
  15. I have a Smallhd 701 and a Focus SDI and they both get pretty hot while recording.
  16. this isn't the thread for personal attacks but that is kinda creepy..
  17. it wont, some will still prefer the softer canon look, or the amazing black magic color science and raw capabilities, Fuji with its filmic rendering, or Panasonic's build quality and insane ibis. No one is getting killed and I say this as a huge Sony fanboy.
  18. Facts lmao lol... well the fs5ii stock profile has a better highlight roll off so maybe we will see that in the a7siii then buy a camera thats 1:1 readout and not oversampling.. like come on.
