  1. best thing about the 6K oversampled image is that you don't even need to add in camera sharpening.
  2. I prefer a sharper more detailed image as I prefer a more clinical look. So I like the A7 image
  3. ehhhh not really, GH5 has never been touted as this amazing stills camera, not to the extent of the Canon 5D and Sony A7 Line.
  4. Its not better than P4K only because the 2 simply shouldn't be compared. The GH5 is a video camera and the P4K is a cinema camera. This is another apples to oranges comparison..
  5. maybe 12bit externally at the absolute most, similar to the FS5
  6. lmao loving these new vids Mark has been putting out. Truth hurts.
  7. on the A6300 I find the LCD to be unusable for 4K in bright daytime exteriors, but the EVF is totally fine. Bright, clear, and crisp.
  8. Totally agree! To many people are shooting at F2.8 or faster and more often than not the footage is out of focus and looks soft. F4 - F5.6 is the sweet spot for me. Most lenses are really sharp at that point and you can get a respectable amount of DOF with it depending on focal length and distance to the subject.
  9. Yeah I just watched the review. Video quality is ultra soft and lacking detail. Just goes to show high bitrate isn't everything...
  10. 85mm on full frame with 135mm as a close second. 50mm on apsc/super 35
  11. I don't think Ive ever heard of a true Cine lens with built in IS. Ive seen those 15+ lb shoulder rigs and at that point you don't need lens IS.
  12. I think Sony was going to release the A7siii at photokina but decided to hold off after the FF Panasonic announcement
  13. Yes they made a statement about 12 lenses for next year. That means for the 4th year in a row, Sony will have most lenses released every year since 2015 I believe.
  14. if its 10 bit 420 in 4K, FS5mkii and mki user would probably be pissed with that.
  15. You probably aren't exposing your S Log 2 correctly, that or your shooting in conditions that are not (Bright Daytime exteriors) which Slog 2 was specifically made for and excels at. Stuff like lowlight.
  16. I have an A6300 rn, Legit all I want is A7iii color science, dual SD card slots, the HLG profiles and a headphone jack. If I wanted 10 bit in 4K I would just save up for or rent an FS7, and My Z90 does 10 bit in HD anyways.
  17. Sorry didn't see this earlier, I don't shoot a lot of 1080P stuff for normal speed as I really like the flexibility and sharpness of the 4K, however as a sports videographer I do a lot slowmotion, 1080P 120fps 50mbps 10 bit 422 looks really really good as long as the lighting is decent. I recently updated my reel. All of the shots before :46 are with the Z90
  18. My broadcasting teacher is always telling me about how when she first started out they were doing linear edited on tape. Honestly sounded like hell.
  19. Honestly as intriguing as the FF stuff is like the A7III and new Panny's i'm happy with Supa 35, Sony just give me a headphone jack on the A6700 or an FS5 with A9 like video auto focus and gg! Digital medium format is still pretty expensive overall.
  20. I think slog 2 can be mapped with S gamut 3 but yeah S gamut 3.cine is made specifically for Slog 3.
  21. larger sensors gather more light? Didn't know camera sensors work like black holes..
  22. A7II sells for around $900 USD lol, not bad especially if your one of those FF fanatics.
  23. Yeah I love shooting HLG on my Z90, it sits kinda in between log and rec 709 becuase any camera that can shoot Log can shoot HLG since the color space is going to be a lot smaller. Ive found HLG colors to look really similar to Canon stuff color wise, and the boost in DR is always welcome. I don't really grade my HLG stuff, just a light CC. If i want a filmic look I shoot Cine 2 or Cine 4.
  24. Carl did a comparison of the 2 a little while back also.
