  1. I thought the colors I was seeing out of the A7siii looked pretty decent personally.
  2. The footage I've seen looks really good. The colors aren't too bad either. I really wish they'd fix the IBIS. I'd love to see someone test it in a really humid situation. While I don't film in direct sunlight a lot (only really weddings), I film in small venues that don't always have AC and get real hot and humid. Buildings can get into the 100Fs with hundreds of people, even in the evening.
  3. Hugh is great. I think @Andrew Reid would appreciate him. He's such an incredibly thoughtful person, and very, very honest.
  4. I'm not complaining at all. I said it was a solid release. But if you don't think these features will be matched, if not beaten, in the next year or so, I'm not sure what to tell you. And until Atomos comes out with an affordable recorder that can record it, hardly anyone is going to be able to use 16 bit RAW, and frankly most folks don't need 16 bit RAW. Not everything has to be viewed as super positive, or super negative. This is a fine release, but talk of it "Crushing" this camera or that camera is silly.
  5. Their MFT lenses work pretty well on Olympus cameras with PDAF.
  6. "Crushing" seems a bit hyperbolic. It definitely has advantages, but so does the S1H.
  7. This is a solid release for people already invested in the system BUT it does kinda feel like Sony is just finally catching up and there's a chance this release will look dated pretty quickly. Someone really needs to have a heart to heart with Panasonic about AF, because all of these companies have left the door open for them. Canon tried to shut it (I think?), but that was an unmitigated disaster, but after this release its still open, I think.
  8. Maybe they should've tested that in the original video they released before saying it didn't? 🤔
  9. I don't think many people were / are asking to be able to record 120fps for that long. If the limit is there for 4K60 though it is a deal breaker for me. While an hour might seem long enough for most people, I need genuine unlimited record times.
  10. I didn't! I always believed in Canon's ability to fuck things up!
  11. I know, what I mean is that seems to be a suitable solution.
  12. The thought of using a leaf blower or a fridge to cool down my $4,000 camera makes my butthole pucker.
  13. It is quite dishonest, but he'll address the overheating issues in a future video to maximize hits / ad revenue. It's why he included BTS footage of them using a LEAF BLOWER to try and cool the camera down.
  14. I'm curious to know if the cameras can overheat taking just photos, since it seems to make the camera quite hot when switching over to video after shooting them? It's bad enough that it overheats in video, but that's even worse.
  15. Shits fucked when the Northrups are one of the few voices that give useful information on these cameras.
  16. Even if the Tilta contraption worked perfectly, I couldn't justify buying these cameras out of principal. Canon shouldn't be rewarded for this.
  17. "I think for most people the overheating is actually really insignificant and you'll probably never have to deal with it." - Matti Haapoja at 11:55 in the video. Anyone that says that, whether they're paid directly or not, is a shill. You have a responsibility, when people are looking at you to make purchasing decisions, to be blunt and not try to protect your relationship with a company at the expense of your viewers. Matti even starts off the video trying to dispel the notion that he's a Canon shill, ignoring the fact that even if he isn't paid directly by Canon and has turned down a business relationship with them, he still profits through YouTube revenue and the access he is given, which has helped him reach nearly a million subscribers. He clearly has benefitted from it, has no problem being used in Canon's marketing machine, and makes excuses and heaps praise on Canon. I mean he even said he's GLAD they didn't add any active cooling, like a fan, to the camera before bashing Sony ("I couldn't even live stream with the A7iii without it overheating and that's without recording!") and making jokes about the overheating on the R5. Because why would you wanna make a camera more usable?! Shameful.
  18. I'm so glad he's back making content regularly. A real unsung hero of the diy filmmaking game, and he did it all before people could make money doing it on YouTube.
  19. No its not. He did it and then proceeded to tell people that he didn't think it'd be an issue for most people, just as I said. Watch the video again. BTW, are you gonna just down vote every post I make or nah?
  20. To hurt other companies mostly. And to be able to claim "first!" for 8K. And with the way some Canon users are, they may make these cameras a success and reward them for it. 😞
