  1. I need IBIS because I shoot handheld in active situations. Canon IBIS wasn't around when I made my post. Fuji's 4K is lovely, but their exposure stepping is jarring. Again, for my uses, that's kind of a deal breaker. Recording limits are the ultimate deal breaker for me. I need to be able to record for hours straight. Non negotiable. Like I said, Fuji intrigues me but they don't check all the boxes yet. Once they work the kinks out there's a good chance I'll invest in the system, their colors are my favorite.
  2. I think I confused it with the Deity that @Thomas Hill mentioned!
  3. Can we get rid of these anonymous "experts" and bring back your @Mattias Burling's and @John Brawley's please?
  4. You're deflecting. Indeed they aren't all the same, but there's also a hell of a lot of difference between PLASTIC and MAGNESIUM ALLOY, and you made it real clear that you had no idea what the camera was even made out of before critiquing it for being "plastic" and suggesting they add $5000 to the price. So yeah, "dude," you were clearly talking out of your ass and won't even admit it.
  5. "Dude" you literally called it plastic multiple times and didn't know the camera was metal. You've been talking out of your ass.
  6. Again, it is a magnesium alloy body! At least do your research, jeez.
  7. Holy shit, are we really complaining about how it looks now? It's not going to win any awards, but it looks fine. All the buttons are easily accessible and it's easily rigged up. Are we really gonna pretend that RED cameras are good looking? They're boxes with a mid 2000s gun anesthetic.
  8. Kinda crazy how much used GH2's are going for on eBay here in the US!
  9. That footage looks stunning. You're really reaching.
  10. Most of the gear discussed here is out of a lot of people's budget. Your point? In the last 18 or so months they've released two cameras geared toward the indie market.
  11. It's not an overnight process. It's priced where it's priced to entice others to take a chance on it, show what it's capable of, and hopefully win over bigger and bigger productions. They've already made inroads there, and this is the latest attempt to get higher profile users. I think they'll succeed.
  12. I think the initial selling point was that the price of entry was significantly lower than alternatives of the time. Lower price plus better specs will always get people's attention. I was always turned off by their proprietary bullshit though. Not being able to just use my own stuff just always rubbed me the wrong way. Any company that tries to exert that much control over their paying customers should be looked at with suspicion.
  13. They kind of need to be more aggressive with their pricing. But as long as they make everything proprietary, it's not a business model that will work moving forward. Frankly I'm surprised it was ever a successful business model.
  14. You've literally been spending the last day capping on it and bashing it, while arguing with people that are interested in it. That's not the behavior of someone that couldn't care less. Move on dude.
  15. It concerns me how upset you are about this camera. We get it. Move on.
  16. QC can be an issue, particularly on early units. My original Pocket had issues, but they replaced it with a brand new one so I couldn't really complain. I've heard fewer complaints about the Ursa cameras, but heard complaints about the Pocket 4K and 6K, with scratched screens, dust on the sensor, etc. on "brand new" units. I think those issues get resolved though.
  17. Didn't Tascam release something like this, but overseas, with the American version lacking the recording function, because of patents?
  18. This x100. Their quality control has been suspect in the past. But otherwise this is a huge release.
  19. I think on a personal level I'd like both of them. And I can't hate, they've been very successful doing what they're doing. That lake side video though that birthed the Toneh moniker, it was just too much. I think you can learn a lot even from non-experts, sometimes even more than you can from experts, because you see genuine trial and error. But that video at the lake, where most of his head was cut off and you couldn't see a thing behind him because BLURRY BACKGROUND! was insane.
  20. That vimeo clip looks stunning. 12K still is overkill for right now, but unless it's a POS, that's a camera that will be future proof for a long, long while at a very good price.
