i feel everyone else has just blogged about It, tito is the only one that bothered to do anything in depth about it. its easy to see the difference in between bloggers and people that actually have a passion for something.

don't put yourself down mate .... leave that to us ? its sometimes worthwhile playing with these things, i learned that with the soviet 40mm lens i bought. That took more than a few adapters to sort out Optics can be weird, just got to use em and work with their intricacies

its the real deal, a letus 1.33 adapter for the gopro. Real men have no need to fake it ? That storm from yesterday took out the telephone line and our neighbors telephone about 50 meters from our house, it was loud. Had the gopro timelasping it all, the strike was just out side the camera view sadly or between photos doesn't seem to show up in the timelapse. edit.... it was another 20 meters to the left when i look at the photo, so never in the shot Untitled.mov

quite a strong vignette ? is that at the wide end of things ? damn, your up pretty early? its 6 am here. I'm a bit envious of that water, i'd have a three inch pump sitting on that sand if it were me ? Got a 30 ton excavator coming in next week to de silt the damn and give it a bit more depth. I did have have a storm pass close by yesterday afternoon got a shower of rain out of it. i setup the gopro with its battery eliminator and run a timelapse. seemed to work ok. i defished the images and run deflicker on sequence in gopro studio dragged it into resolve kinda graded it. As per one of tito's tutorials i think i gave it a 2.40 aspect ratio by reducing the height to 800 and stretching the width by 1.33 allowing for the letus anamorphic. I was quite happy with result. Regarding the movement issue your having, i get the same thing but not so bad. i think mine is more rotational maybe 1mm or less with various lenses and adapters, it is annoying. I am strongly considering cutting up a 6mm alloy sheet i have here and making a base plate support that runs the length of the camera, adapter, taking lens and anamorphic. you could try rails perhaps, either way it gets fiddly to pull apart i think.

Screw on ND Filters vs ND Fader, Stacking Filters, etc.
leslie replied to HockeyFan12's topic in Cameras
i found this two days ago. mat granger did a review on a bunch of 10 stop nd filters he chose screw on for his review. hope this helps -
sure, i think i take things in better visually try and get some flares ??

3.55.1 or thereabouts sounds about right. it looks like your on to it ? from the little i have done with my elmoscope it looked too wide or the black bars were too wide to be the more popular 2.40. If popular is the correct word.

I do believe there was something subtle going on with the cooke, how to define it, is beyond me. If he can afford cookes or even rent them and make em work, good for him. I reckon i learned there is something interesting with the cookes or that particular lens. I'm not sure its $20000 worth of interesting however and i didn't like the stop sign bokeh. I guess i'll have to stumble forward with the old m42 ?

i'm pretty sure there is some kind of mr smith artificial intelligence residing on the dark web whose only function is to crush anything sent youtubes way ? back on topic, i have to wonder, to me it looks wider than the normal 2.40 aspect ratio. The black bars top and bottom look too wide for me, maybe i am wrong. I presume that was a styling choice perhaps ? i do enjoy the anamorphic look but i think maybe that was too wide. i really liked the first 15 seconds, i think its time to revisit some scenario that involves matches, empty drums and some suitable substances that are a little bit volatile. Of course It will have to wait till the current fire season and total fire ban is over however. better pencil something into the diary ?

it will be like the slow motion craze... Hmm flares in slow motion that might be novel, remember i said it first. we will do it because we can ? join the movement or else !!

kudos for making a spreadsheet. Even if the maths is wrong, i'm still impressed ? All i know is, i like the look i get with anamorphic lenses. it gives me an expansive view, its got flares, its also different from everything else out there at the moment, whats not to like ?

i grabbed this from andrews anamorphic guide hope it helps, because i have trouble sorting it out myself ? The multiplier numbers themselves are easier to visualise. A 2x anamorphic lens would make a lens twice as wide horizontally. A 50mm lens would become 25mm in terms of field of view across the width of the image. An anamorphic lens does not give any wider field of view vertically, only horizontally. mercer is right about the crop factor. i thought it was 2x however its closer to 1.9x

can i get it in orange ? i feel my pk4 needs more bling. By the way have you or can you add functionality to take stills ?

i have vague memories of being told to unmount usb drives and others devices before pulling the cable or device out when usb's first came out. Perhaps apple os are a bit more finicky regarding mounting and unmounting. i haven't had any issues with my samsung t5 yet, but learning from btm's dilemma in future i'll be a bit more careful even though i am on a pc.

i have two villtrox adapters, so i'm either a fanboy or a cheapskate or all of the above ? all my pentax m42's get mounted to a cheap ef adapter then to the viltox ef-m2. There is some small amount of play on both sides of the mount. If you shoot hand held it will probably annoy you. i also have the viltrox mount adapter for nikon to m4/3 the aperture control seems to work ok if i turn the aperture to f22 on the nikon then the viltrox will control the nikon aperture. The villtrox nikon mount has the same amount of play For what its worth i do like the foot on the viltrox ef speedbooster it has two screws to tighten it against the adapter. The nikon adapter has a thumbscrew setup and its a pain to tighten so the the camera doesn't move around. I cant really say anything much about the optics. Mattias Burling did some tests with the speedbooster, he seemed quite happy with it. Which is part of the reason i got the viltrox over the other adapters and cost of course. I dont have any auto focus lenses so i have no experience in that regard which is of no help to you.

So far from what i have seen i like the sirui. Not so sure about the multiple scifi blue flares, i think they could be toned down abit. But maybe thats just me. My only issue is that 50mm becomes 100mm on the p4k and with a m/3 mount i cant fit a speedbooster in front of it to claim back any of that crop. Perhaps the crop fear factor exists only in my head and its all abit of a non issue with the compression thing happening and the widening that you get with an anamorphic. I still feel like i'm losing something however. Besides i would still have two perfectly good anamorphic projector lenses sitting round the house, languishing away doing nothing. I hope the sirui does well, i want the sirui to do well as there isn't many options out there but i'll probably keep saving for a single focus solution.

no idea about the rules but i did however find this rather interesting. If indeed your supposed to stay 30 meters away from people or animals. This guy is in a alot of trouble. Pretty sure this guy breaks every rule. I dont even think the pigeons batted an eyelid ? so its all a bit of a non issue if you ask me.

ok what sort of discount is there for jumping on board at the start and will there be a 5 month wait for pre-orders like with the pk4 ? ?
-
aren't you just banging your head against a wall with all this talk of arri ? just get a russian nap or cinelux and be done with it ? i could redraw on the mortgage and get a 2nd hand ARRI Master Anamorphic prime lens or a new tractor ? probably neither will happen until it rains

we should probably start a too poor to have it all thread with reviews. The other idea i have is clean up best you can and flog em on ebay

did you say more free stuff ?

took me a couple of weeks to save for the samsung t5 but that capacity and speed is worth it.Their probably cheaper by now so well worth it . Maybe bmd have updated their appproved cards list by now, i'm not sure.

I am convinced somewhere in my room is a a black hole that randomly eats things.. then months later spits them back out ? After looking in the absolutely last place i would imagine for a cable for the gopro battery eliminator to hide in ... i finds it ? Its been awol for several weeks As a proof of concept i made up a quick and dirty cover for the gopro since the battery eliminator is waterproof no longer. All it has to do is keep most of the water off the back of the gopro as the front should be ok i think. there's a slot in the bottom for the cable and water to drain away. I have done this just in case i get called away or i get distracted with something else, while i run a time lapse and a sudden storm comes up. i may add a rubber band around it to keep it together, winds have been pretty severe of late its surprising how much of the container i had to cut away to avoid it showing in the photos with the letus anamorphic.
